I'm a Yankee fan but I'm not from New York. I was born in NJ outside NYC and raised in Florida, but I love the Yankees because my whole family loves the Yankees and all my relatives are in the New York area and I been watching the Yankees with my dad since I was too young to even have an opinion on baseball. My other 3 favorite sports teams are the NY Rangers, Knicks, and Giants. So 3 out of 4 of my favorite teams embarrassed themselves last year, I think its safe to say I don't only like my teams when they win. Even though they totally sucked I went to see the Rangers in Miami last year, same with the Knicks, and this season I went to two Yankees games in Tampa.
I don't think it should matter where your from when it comes to what team you like. I think as long as you stick with that team no matter what, and follow them closer than just finding out the scores after the games. Hell, whos to say the most rabid Miami Dolphin fan in the world can't live in Seattle?
the reason i hate boston is because they hate yankee fans.... did you hear what shilling said in an interview???? "were finally gonna shut up 2500 New yorkers" i mean, that made me hate them so much more...... and i like the lakers, even when they started sucking.... only because i like the team..... just like i like the panthers in football... although i do root for the giants and jets... and in hockey, im a NY islanders fan....although they suck....
I think it's stupid that people hate a team just because they win all the time...The truth about capitalism is that those who have money survive/win....that's true for the Yankees. A great franchise, and has been able to keep winning plain and simple, people need to stop b$tching and moaning about "yankees have more money"...suck it up and grow up, that's just how it works...i love in NYC and i'm a Yankees fan, and proud of it. And since people like to compare Yankees and Lakers, well I'm also a lakers fan (even with most players gone in this upcoming season) i'll always be a lakers fan and i'll always be a Yankee fan....Boston sucks, and i hope they die.

We didn't get lucky, that was all skills. Luck wouldn't get us 4 straight and a game from sweeping the Cardinals. There's commitment from everyone, especually Schilling. The only luck I've seen is in Bellhorn.
It's definetly luck...got a lucky run in game for off of rivera which brought to red sox ahead 4-2...then the yankees lost momentum...but i don't blame them you can't keep the momentum from a NINETEEN TO EIGHT game going too long. Boston sucks
you are so dumb, boston swept the angels, swept the cardinals (who were the best team in baseball) games 2-4 vs STL their starters pitched shutout baseball. they took 4 in a row vs NY you dont have to like them, but saying they suck is ignorant proves you know nothing about the sport, and only make NY look worse, cause now they lost to a shitty team. Id rather have my team lose to a great team then a shitty one, but your too ignorant and uneducated to understand thought process or the fact that a team HAS to be talented to win a 7 game series. Thier closer gave up 1 RUN the entire playoffs and i already mentioned their starters, their bullpen also crushed NY and STL their offense scored early and often every game.
And exactly how many championships have they won since their payrole started to blow up? 0, zilch, nada. People seem to forget that little tidbit. Classic feel? Tell that to Pirate fans whose owner, year after year trades away their best players to ensure he makes a sizeable profit. The Yankees pay their share of the luxury tax, its just too bad that most other owners take the money and run instead of using it to field a competitive team.

I don't hate all of the Yankees fans... i just hate the stupid ones that like them cause they win... or the ones that are so cocky about it... and all the ones that were throwing the baseballs on the field in game six

i think its stupid that people only root for a team because there the favorites or have the most stars on that team...that thing you said about captilasm isnt true in the sports world...the yankees had a great team in the 90s but that was when they were a team and not a bunch of stars put together to win a world series...same thing for the lakers...i take pride in the fact that the detroit pistons abosutly wrecked that team last year and had a hand in breaking that team up when everyone (except pistons fan) said detroit didnt have a chance to beat them...stars are going to sell tickets but a team is going to win championships
