How was it confuesing? Maybe you should go watch Ju-On because the Japanese version of the Grudge explains everything more clearly and has more substance.
Ha. "Ju-On" gets lost in itself. It has no sense of chronology, and contains ATLEAST 4 different storylines in one, out of sequence no less.
You'll only furthur confuse yourself by renting that turd. Just PM me if you need something explained, which is hard for me to believe, given the formulaic nature of the movie.
I'm so tired of saying it, but alas, it's all "subjective". Different strokes for different folks. While "The Grudge" was inherently bad, "Ju-On" didn't do anything for me, other than validate my findings that the Japanese don't mind all their movies being about ghosts and girls with long black hair because stupid Americans come along and claim it to be genius work anyway.

i didnt really like it, i mean...it was well done, but really, it was kind of stupid...now that i look back at that, i sound stupid, but i guess it didnt strike me, i think some of the plot was lost in the translation...
