I didnt see the sophomore/rookie game. I only saw the end totals and how Bosh had 20 something points and 14 rebounds. Myth, would you pick him as the all star?
Do you mean, would I have picked him as the MVP? Damn right. As I said, 26 points compared to 31 but he earned his points and wooped up on Melo in every other category. Plus Bosh did it when it counted. Melo racked up his points once the victory was sealed and the rookies gave up on D.

I think he has more chance of becoming an all-star if he plays more center himself. He'll probably thrive better at PF but there is much less C's in the East (and League) so there is his chance to become an all-star.

I think the best dunks were the Off the back board, off Nash head 180 dunk by Amare, and Josh Smiths dunk with Kenyon. That was crazy, becuase first off, you have to jump about 1 foot in front of the foul line, then you have to jump high enough to get over Kenyon, than u have to catch the ball and dunk it. That was great. Also, the last one Amare did would have been really good if he did it first try. Even though it didnt matter since he already lost. And i agree Myth, the last two dunks by Josh Smith should'nt be a 50, it should be like a 45-47
Definitly. But Bosh doesnt have the body to take on O'Neal and other big centres. He played it last year, and near the end of the season, it just wore him down. He's fast as lightning with good moves that dominates slower, bigger players but on the defensive side those offensive bigger players just wear him down.
Oh, I don't think Bosh will be better than O'Neal, I'm just saying that at the center positions is his best chance of becoming an All-Star because there is less competition. Heck, Jermaine was chosen as a F for the East. Bosh will only make it as the 3rd best C if ever does.
Anyway, All-Star game thoughts. Carter's pass off the backboard to himself would have competed in the dunk contest and it was in-game. Lebron's efficiency rating was 1 more than AI's but AI was more vital to the 17-0 run so his MVP was deserved. He did though go 4-14 and 7 turnovers but still deserved.

I dont think Bosh will be the best and when I said he dominates, I dont mean O'Neal or an All-Star Centre. But against the majority of them, sooner or later he will dominate.
Well, he also had the ball in his hands 75% of the time so you'd expect him to at some times see somebody open and pass. Did anybody else pay attention to Gilbert Arenas? God I hate him. He always makes ridiculous guarantees and tries to force them. He guaranteed that he was going to win the MVP and in 15 minutes he shot 3-11. He was such a ball hog trying to get MVP. Did he even expect to play long enough to earn MVP? He was barely put on the team.

I heard about Arenas and his bold prediction, guess he will learn to keep his mouth shut in the future. I only saw highlights of the weekend but thats better than nothing. The one image that sticks in my mind was VC with his head level with the rim throwing down alley oop to himself - amazing. The dunk contest was ok from what i saw, Andersen needs to be banned from the all star weekend for life. How hard can it be to dunk if you're that tall? Did he even practice? I really liked JR Smith's behind the back dunk, it requires some serious coordination. Josh Smith had the goods though and there's nothing wrong with giving respect to Nique, my favourite dunk from him was the reverse 360 windmill. Shaq seems to think that if more money was offered to the winners we might see the big names back in the contest, what about doing it for the fans seeing as they pay a fortune for their tickets? What was your favourite part of the weekend guys?

my favortie part was Amare's dunk from off of Nash's head. Thats one of the best dunk i've seen in a while. and koolruningz you that that the reverse 360 windmill was better than the dunk over Kenyon?
I enjoyed the dunk over Kenyon and the windmill at the end was a nice touch, but i'm always amazed at the body control needed for a 360 especially a reverse pivot. Im not saying it was better but i liked it more. One of my favourite dunks was the VC 360 windmill from out of bounds (cant remember the year) it sounds simple but looks impressive. I liked the Amare dunk as well but its harder to give him props because he is so big and its so easy for him. You must have been pleased with your man AI, he had a great game.

I have to disagree with you koolruningz. 1st, VC did a 180 windmill from out of bounds. It was the same dunk but not as much spin as Carter's reverse 360 windmill (Josh Smith's was just a copy of VC but he is a lefty). Smith's dunk over Kenyon was harder and was original. Amare off of Nash's head was great but the dunk itself was only so-so. It was the set-up that was impressive. I have a feeling next years dunk contest will be good. I doubt Lebron will have 3 years in a row of excuses. And Lebron should attract people who want to beat him. Jason Richardson said that he would have done it this year if he knew Lebron was going to. Imagine the possibility = Lebron vs Richardson vs Fred Jones (to properly defend 2004) vs Josh Smith.

I stand corrected on Carters dunk but i still like it. Hopefully the line up for next year will feature the superstars, where is the weekend being held?

Yeah, I was hoping someone from the Sixers got something. Korver almost won the 3 point contest. I would've bet more on Korver than i would have AI winning MVP. I was just glad someone form the Sixers got something.
Check out this quote I snagged from ESPN Page 2 about Chris Anderson:
"A Pantheon performance on the Unintentional Comedy Scale by Chris Andersen. Remember the scene in "One On One" when Robby Benson overdoses on greenies and makes a fool out of himself at practice? Now imagine if that happened in front of 20,000 people. That was actually the first time in my life that I've seen something spectacular in person, only I wished I was watching it at home on TV -- with the announcers' and players' reactions -- because I knew it was 10 times more spectacular for everyone at home. Looking back, I think the best part was that he started off the contest by telling the sideline reporter, "It's time for the Birdman to fly." Could somebody find me a time machine so I could travel back to the '80s and make that my high school yearbook quote?
"It's time for the Birdman to fly."
-- Chris Andersen before missing 47 straight dunks in the 2005 Slam Dunk Contest."
