Sure I think Girls should have equal rights, but that means really equal so no womens or mens sports all together who is better is gonna play, that would be fair now wouldn'T it. Well I guess if you'd do that there wouldn't be many girls in sports anymore, for example real football I am pretty sure everygirl could kick my ass in that (and probabyl in any other sport) but there are a lot of guys that are just better than girls. So I think girls have to decide if they want equal sports or seperated its there decision but not ahlf that half that that is not equal.
What about me im 13 i can play QB running back or wide reciever i can throw over 50yrds and run the whole field in about half a min so what do you think my friend doesn't think ill make the team and my mom doesn't think i should play but my dad is all for it.i am a tomboy i play hockey to every position.i am gonna try to go out for the pop-warner team probally will make it too.last year they won of forfits
thx write back

yes girls should be allowed to play and really thats all there is to it, doesnt matter if its coed or a separate team, because as of now, its neither, which doesnt seem very fair.

Is America still a free country? If so then by all means girls should be able to try out with the boys.
I remember when our team in Primary School (mostly 10/11 year olds but a couple of really good 9 year olds) absolutely demolished the neighbouring High School's under 18 girls team. It was ridiculous, something like 10-1 (one of the younger guys got a hat-trick). The girls were meant to be good too. It was hilarious. 12 years ago now and things have moved on, but still. Even adults against kids we were still a physical match for them.
America sucked for decades at football, but they've been to the World Cup quarter finals. What I mean is, that just like the Americans, women will eventually be able to compete at football on a level field with men.
Extremely physical sports like rugby and soccer are whole different ball games from football(sorry, couldn't help myself).
Look at track and field events, women may have the same technical ability but they will never have the same physical ability. Extreme physical damage would be inevitable.

Americans add throwing, pads, alter the length of the game etc, i.e. change it completely yet still call it football.
Then they call the original soccer, and expect the rest of the world to adopt this bastard name. Pish.
From hence forth American football shall be known as "soccer." by me.

i dont see why they shouldnt be given the opportunity but if they dont match up then they dont match up.
Ye and? I played for an U14 football (soccer) team - i was the only girl in the entire football tournament and we won every game... i got stick from every other team for being a girl before the tournament started but i got my own back with a few 2 footed tackles - the point is i had the ability so i was allowed to play, but there were 2 girls older than me that trained at the same club that cold play better than any of the guys there but there was no mixed league available to the U18 side - the same tournament that i played at had an U18 tournament but girls werent allowed to play - whats the point in not allowing them to play? And you wonder why womens football is so uch worse than mens? If women that could play that well were allowed to play alongside men they could play to their full ability, even if it is in the 3rd division.
Isnt football pretty much tackling?... so wouldnt that be like a boob crunch fest, which would ultimately result in some kind of hospitalization? shoulders to breasts is just not the way to go for women.. (I heard its like getting kicked in the sack for a guy)

naybean:
U14s is really before the physical strength difference happens though, isn't it. U18s would be different all together.
Why does women not playing with men limit their potential? are there not enough women good enough to help the talented ones progress?
If women ran, jumped, threw, played tennis, etc against men in the Olympics would women be able to compete physically? Of course not.
Men are stronger than women, no changing it.
Flying around giving two-footed challenges is evil, you can **** people right up with them. That's just dirty, not strong. Any numpty can do that. If you gave it out I hope you got it back with interest.

To call American Football "wimps rugby" is just ignorance. You have to be far more athletic to be a football player than to be a rugby player.
It's also a more dangerous sport. It's played at full speed where as rugby is played at like 75% speed over a long period of time.
American football started without pads and helmets....there's a reason why they are required to wear them now in modern times. It's because without them everyone would get hurt MUCH worst than anyone in rugby.
