The college coaches should be done for discrimination. His players should be disciplined enough not to be distracted on the pitch. And if a girl is strong and capable of competing alongside men there is no reason why she should be restricted because of her gender.
Gender: Unspecified Location: The Last Circle of Hell
The players should be disiplined enough, but they're not, is the truth. You name one person whos on a football team who wouldnt make fun of a girl playing football, then you may come over to my house and slap me. So it isnt the coaches fault. But if a girl cant contribute to the team, then whats the point of her being on the team? Like I said, I've never seen any girl, even the most fit and probably strongest girl in our school, take down a school football player. Unless she was going for a frosh. Girls just arent capable, unless they are extremely fit and strong (as I said before), of competing with guys when it comes to football. I know that this is coming from a guy, and that might seem sexist, but if you can find me a single girl who can get hit by Ty Law and still stand, escape the tackle of Kieth Brooking, and take down Curtis Martin or Peyton Manning, then let the games begin.
I am in total agreement with you on that.If your friend is a tomboy who you think could handle it with the boys, she should at least be given the chance to prove herself.I totally think she is right in doing this, thats discrimination.Like you said, thats totally unfair that they are not even given the chance to try out and prove themselves.I know they have womens basketball at most high schools and softball as well, unfortunately since there are not enough good quality women tomboys out there like your friend, the high schools cant start a girls football team, but again she should at leats be given the chance to prove herself.thats just wrong.
--- yes, IN GENERAL, women will be better at marathons and… gymnastics (I think). ---
no, u think wrong actually....women are not 'better', and a reson why is actually physical again. better stamina? maybe, but not nessassarly true. actually the shape of womens hips inhibits the same kind of physical running ability that men have. women are not built for the same kind of physical activity as men are. the biological differences are what makes men 'better' (in most, but not all) cases of sport.
I agree, what if a 5 foot 3 115 pund man wants to try out for womens rugby?...
hes not bug, or strong enough to play with the average men, so then why cant he play with the women.
personally i think that t should not be gender based, but can they handel the physical aspects of the game.
so there are divisions, like boxing, in weight class kinda. if ur not strong enough to play at the higest level, then the level below is ur next best choice. and since women in general are not big, or strong enough to play with the average men, then they would generally populate the lower weight class. however this is not a one way street, if a man (who is too small and not srong enough) cant play with the average men, then he should e allowed to play with the lower level. (which would be mostly women). it goes both ways tho, if a 6 '2 200 pound woman is good and strong wnough to play with the average men, then let her. basically get rid of 'mens' sports and 'womans' sports. if they can play at the level then let them play there, if not then there going to have to settle for less then the best, and unfortunatly then women are generally gonna populate the less then the best catagory.
uhh,try quite a few.Thats absurd to say the ENTIRE football team would make fun of her.maybe half, but not the WHOLE team.there are some nice guys out there you know? Its no different than the pros, there have been countless of times when a big bruising running back such as Jerome bettis of the steelers-the bus penetrated the lines and got into the secondary and it was laughable watching these guys that are like 5'9'' and 190 pounds try and tackle and bring down Bettis who is like 245 pounds, happens in the pros all the time where a guy is mismatched against another player and cant handle him.I havent followed this whole thread, but I dont think thats the issue here from what I gathered at the begiining post of girls being allowed to play in the NFL.That of course would be unreasonable and out of the question, but there are some girl athletes out there stronger than guys and good at football who should be allowed to play on high school teams.I think they really need to start girls college football teams just like they have college basketball teams for girls.Im sure you could find enough girls out there who would like to display their skills they have.I know in my area, they have a womans ammuture football team that plays other womens football teams across the country.Thats encouraging to me because thats a good start towards the right direction.as that one person said,if they are strong enough to handle some of the guys on the high school level, they should be allowed to try out and prove themselves.

i have no prob with chicks playing ball. theres nothing like a female getting her freaking head knocked off to let her know that she shouldnt try to get involved with EVERYTING guys got going.
quote from Archie - "I figure, would I rather rub shoulders with the ugliest guys at school, or be holding hands with the most attractive girls in school?" (he signed up with the cheerleader squad )
why do girls want to play football with these guys? a lot are too cocky and they're not Orlando Bloom cute
