"The Bible says...." a lot of things really, and one has to ask are we going to be totally ruled by that venerable old book, a person who doesn't believe would say no, one who does would have a harder time, but some how I don't think it is applicable to this argument. The Bible says we shouldn't be doing a lot of things, and if we followed that we would be living like the Amish (although they do have a nice looking life style). And as I recall having children at all was considered a punishment for the transgressions in Eden. But quite frankly, until such a time God chooses to come down and say he doesn't want gays to adopt children, or releases the Bible second edition, I am going to assume he either doesn't care, or is happy for it to happen.

The Bible says a lot of things, and about 90% of it is blatant bullshit that a third grader would recognize as bullshit if they didn't have said bullshit force fed to them at a young age by their bullshit believing parents....bullshit.
Of course, this completely ignores those who become Christians who do not grow up in a Christian home...or maybe they are just teh st00pid as well. I guess Marylin Manson must be smarter than us Jesus-freaks, huh?

Pablo if you're goin to discuss something at least have something to back up what you say... Scarpa, like i said "Grow up" you havn't had a decent agruemeant with any one and you havn't said anything with meaning...Gay people should and if not are more capable of raising a child because of their gentle and flexible personality.....
I disagree.. I find it kinda hypocritical to argue that sexual preference isn't a factor in parental skills but then turn around and say homosexuality could make you a better parent.. which is it?
Hmmm, it is, I think, far to early to say whether a gay couple would make better parents because they are gay, as really, there is no way to judge it, you would have to look at it down the track when it was going on for a while. However, I don't think a gay person would be worse then a heterosexual one. However, I can kind of see where people are coming from when they might say they would be better, as gay people are seen as far less violent, and more accepting and in touch with their feelings. Whether this is true of not when it comes to children remains to be seen...

ok, first of all, i'm a straight guy, i have no problem with gay people having kids, but to say they are better parents? talk about a broad generalisation... sure there are plenty of shitty hetero parents, but i'm sure there'd be plenty of gay ones too.
i hope to have kids in the future, and i think i'd be a damn good father...
Oh, I agree with what you saying, and as I said, I am yet to see how someones sexuality could affect child care as it has been described, just saying how I can kind of see the point some people are trying to make at the same time.

Tex> “I wish more Christians would research how the bible was compiled and how Christianity came to be before they blindly go along with its teachings.”
I’m afraid we’ll have to keep wishing for a very long time…
What should these people do with their lives, without their holier-than-thou, you-burn-in-hell-if-you-disagree attitudes towards homosexuals, abortions, free sex and other assorted stuff of life?
I’m always reminded of the story Gene Hackman’s character tells Willem Dafoe’s in Mississippi Burning about his dad and their neighbour.
Maybe we should open a thread “Should rightwing Christian extremist rednecks be allowed to breed?”
Having been on these forums for a while now, and having had heated debates with a few who belongs to this group, I can see many reasons why members of this group shouldn’t be al-lowed to procreate!
The last but not the least being … rednecks have an appalling taste in clothes. Gay men are usually very well-dressed!

What makes you think all gays have the same personality? Come on.. being more "in touch with their feelings?" I'm sorry, but that seems terribly stereotypical. Each individual has their own personality, you can't make a certain group out to be "better parents." Homosexuals are just as likely to be heartless bastards/bitches as straight parents. Which means they are also just as likely to be warm, loving parents. Judging people by their sexual preference/race/gender is never accurate.
Just because they like people of the same sex, doesn't mean that they aren't capable of loving a child just like a man and a woman. I have a relative who is gay, and they love their 14 year old daughter very much, and its not like one 'is the girl' and one 'is the boy' they are both equal, and their daughter loves them both very much, it doesnt matter, as long as there is love.¢¾¢¾
