The only semi-dramatic part of Gears 2 was the death of Maria... and that's only because you knew the character of dom from Gears 1.

Couldn't have cared less about when Tai died.
And I was hoping that Baird would die, he was an annoying SOB through both games.

I don't get why people think Halo 3's story is better than Gears 2's.

Dom's wife went through torture and she looked like Hell. Dom had no choice but to shoot her so she doesn't have to suffer anymore.

Johnson in Halo 3 died from a stupid robot.

Now tell me which is more dramatic.

Its not about how the person dies X. People felt for Johnson because he was in there since day one. Dom's woman, had just shown up.

Well... you had time to develop an emotional tie to Johnson. One may have gained enough of an emotional tie to Dom... if it weren't for the fact that Epic couldn't develop a truly well-rounded character if their lives depended on it.

If I was a solider I doubt my focus would be finding my wife and more on fighting the war. Hence the title of solider.

Were it your wife? Probably not... because you had time to develop a relationship with said person.

Was there time to develop emotional ties to maria? no... she was in the game a total of about maybe 10 minutes... not alot of time to grow to care about a character.

You don't have to give a crap about Maria but you can feel bad about Dom. He's been looking for Maria and his search ends after killing her. Now he feels depressed throughout his life.

Dom was nothing more than a whiny b!tch through the entire game. I liked him in Gears 1... but he started to annoy me almost as much as Baird in Gears 2.

Love Cole, guys funny as hell. Baird, they could easily have made a robot to do his job.

I will give Gears this: Cole interupting the Locust Queen's speech was funny.

but anyway...

I think the best quote I have seen pertaining to gears 2 (and gears one... and Epic in general) is this:

"Most of Epic's games revolve around testosterone fuled steroid monkeys that don incredibly bulky armor suits fighting off some unknown abhorrent foe."
