That pistol was terribly overpowered in that game. It was the only weapon besides the Rocket launcher and Sniper Rifle that you could get a one hit kill with. And it didn't matter if you were the KING with the assault rifle or even the sniper rifle, if you weren't good with the pistol then you weren't good at all, at least on the PC.
Huh? The Pistol was not a 1-hit kill. However it was still greatly overpowered. 4 shots to kill. Lots of ****ing ammo and the dreaded scope. It was overpowered all right. A lot. Hence why Bungie totally nerfed it for the 2 sequels

yeah, it was a one-hit kill, at least in the PC version. If you hit your opponent just on the right part of there head it'll go right through there shields and kill them. I myself have done it quite a few times (By accident, I never got good at that game.) and people who were good with the pistol did it all the time. It was annoying as hell.

Yeah.. I quit playing the game after maybe a year, it was so annoying. Also in the first game on Multiplayer the vehicles weren't destroyed, the player could only be killed, so you'd be flying in your banshee and suddenly you hear three or four pings and your dead. So so annoying.

LOL im pro with the pistols (YAY DUELIES!!!), on both PC and Xbox, both H1 and H2. And I'm still pro in the H3 Beta!!!
I'd greatly prefer them over a AR/BR or sniper rifle, considering i can peg someone from the other side of Coagulation in H2.
