Royce isn't even the best Gracie, let alone best fighter.

Not today , but MMA wouldn't exactly be the same today without his influence, would it?

No, but there's a huge difference between "most influential fighter ever" and "best fighter ever."

Fine, if you insist on nitpicking, I'll hop on the bandwagon and go with GSP.

I can't see how the best fighter ever could be anything but a heavyweight honestly.

So you consider Brock Lesnar a better fighter than BJ Penn?

Yes, I do. Is he more skilled? Hell, no. Would he beat the shit out of BJ in a fight?
Hell, yeah.

While size/strength can be overcome, it is a massive advantage once skill level starts to equalize.

Better fighter doesnt mean one is bigger than the other. He ask for better fight = who has more skill/better win record and not whos bigger or smaller.
If equal weight...whos the better fighter?

Hell, yeah.
That doesn't make him a better fighter.
What you're saying is the equivalent of "character X has a baseball bat and would beat the shit out of character Y, who doesn't have a baseball bat. Therefore, X is the better fighter."

That's why we have the popular PFP acronym.

I disagree, but it all comes down to how we define "fighter" in this case. What you're asking is "who is the more skilled fighter."
Bj.

I'd have to disagree. The better fighter is usually the one who wins the fight. The more skilled fighter is something different.
That's not the same thing and you know it. If they both used baseball bats, it'd be a different story.

This is comparing the two, he didnt ask for who would win in a fight.

That does not change anything I said though.
I think we differ on our definitions of "better/best fighter."
