it's only because they don't show off their power that people have a low regard for them....really...if they all unleashed their potential....Storm alone could cause a category 6 storm and destroy multiple countries. look at what ONE tsunami did to some nations. Storm could create storms that would totally wipe out entire islands and countries. cyclops could destroy multiple world trade centres with his optic blasts. And so...with only TWO x-men....we have possibly half the world destroyed....BUT...they good guys...and so they don't reak havok and show off their power, thus, sadly, they are disregarded as a mere nuisance, when really they have to power to be a global threat...
