Nothing wrong with people getting serious with this game, because some people may just view it as fun, like some of you, however some of us take it to heart and really want to get good at it and win. Obviously myself personally, I hate to lose and I am a person who takes fighting games seriously, even though within these days I do not play in tournaments anymore.
It's what separates casual players from the competitive players, it's no different then me playing with some of my buddies in a game of basketball to where they take it super seriously, however I'm just in there for the sheer fun of it.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 to me is one of the greatest 2-D fighters within the last decade. As "broken" as this game is, the deep end of the strategical aspects of Marvel vs Capcom 2, is by no means, easy to master. There is nothing easy about learning Sentinels fly, and unfly combos, considering it takes a heap amount of execution to do correctly. Most infinities within the game of MvC2 is actually really, really hard to do, besides a few, like Iron Man's infinity which after a few days of good effort, you can do it really consistently, and not much longer to start doing it within real time matches.
Magneto's Rom is no cake walk, and one of the essential aspects as to why he's such a monster, however what really makes him a true beast are his Resets. They are basically Magneto doing a combo setup, and stalling within the combo, to restart it at 1-hit again, to do maximum damage again, this can "actually" be blocked, however the speed at which Magneto moves while doing these resets is so fast that it makes it incredibly difficult to figure out where they are planning to attack from.
I personally love to play this game, and if you ever saw me, my bros, cousins, and a few OG buddies from back in the day duking it out within this game. $$$ is thrown down to see who wins, while pride and our competitive drive starts to kick in, and it gets serious and down to real business.
Everyone plays to win, sure it's fun, however the drive to not wanting to lose is huge, and everyone wants the bragging rights. However nearly 98% of the time, whomever wins usually ends up ordering pizza anyhow with the money, so it's all good in the end. However, it gets really heated, without a doubt.
Like I said, some people just want to casual, and there's nothing wrong with that, however their are those whom are like me, who do take it seriously, and don't want to lose, and there's nothing wrong with that either.
Well I did all the work to unlock all of the characters and costumes so I'm going to use the clones from time to time and Cain is only really good when backed by two others. The 3x Head Crush is one of best supers in the game.
It is, I usually wait on them to call out an assist, preferabally one that has a good after assist stall time and they and usually the active man both get HC'd and they either die or they both have like extremely low.
Both versions use the Dreamcast netcode as a basis for the online and the game itself is a port of the dreamcast edition. I hear the Dreamcast version is more balanced than the PS2/Xbox versions.

Yep, all this, plus the damage scaling is arcade perfect, where as in the PS2 version and such, the damage seems scaled down a bit to me. Because some of my Mag resets feel stale as snot on the PS2 version in terms of damage.
Doing things like Roms and Resets are harder on the PS2 version as well, due to some changes in the characters hitboxes, and at times, you seem to get some "small" slowdowns, when the screen gets too hectic, which is annoying. PS2 or XBox should "only" be used if you don't have access to the DC version, however with the re-release of MvC2 to the new consoles for the 360 at the end of this month and to the PS3 in early August, obviously this will give far better accessibility to current players who don't have MvC2 readily available to them.
Also, the answer is No, for there will be no re-balancing for the newly released MvC2 in case some people are still wondering, only the options for improving the sprite quality to make them less jaggy with two different versions and obviously a 3rd which is the original, and I don't remember what else. However, I'm 100% sure that they didn't do any re-balancing because it's expensive as some people may like to disagree upon, trust me, it requires alot of man power, time and $$$.
It took how many years for HD:Remix to come out with a more balanced version and that only had a 25 man roster, so a 50+ with an even deeper slope with balance issues would take forever. Plus, it will most likely be used for tournaments as well, so expect either the PS3 or 360 version for Evolution 2010.
Btw, you peeps who haven't already, go to www.shoryuken.com and watch the Evolution 2009 Live Feed, they will be doing the Marvel vs Capcom 2's Finals Today, so look to watch that!

You can still buy it and play arcade mode, you just can't play against people on LIVE, so basically if you don't have LIVE gold it's pointless to get it.
Unless it contains a local multiplayer option where you can just play with a friend off the same Xbox, but I don't know if that is going to be an option within the game yet.
I don't see why it wouldn't contain local multiplayer, since vs mode was originally a part of the game. I see no reason in removing that feature from the game.
Do you mean without an internet connection at all or just Gold.
If you mean without Gold then yes you can still buy it like Neo said but you can't play vs online.
If you mean without an internet connection then you can still buy it, but you would have to go to a friend's house or someone with a connection and put your hard drive in and you can download it from there.
Ahh that is true, as long as he has an Internet connection he should be fine then, except for playing with people online but you know how it works, you don't expect to be able to play online if you don't have gold.
I doubt that would happen, sounds like a ploy just to get more people to buy it, like they need to use a ploy though it's going be one of the most popular arcade titles.
Also the PS3 version isn't released until 2 weeks after the 360 version.
