And being as people can get fired for selling 18+ or M rated materials to those who are underage, I really don't think there are too many people willing to do so.
I am only 14 and 18+ manga doesn't effect me at all. Think Battle Royale vol.3.
Also, if chobits only shows breasts then it isn't the worst 16+ manga. Lupin the 3rd has penises (but not really, you have to read it to understand) and A.I Love You has quite a bit of naked on-face sitting. Accidental ofcourse.
Gender: Unspecified Location: With Cinderella and the 9 Dwarves
I say there is not ENOUGH nudity in Mangas......I can't enjoy a berserk manga that only has a girl raped every ten pages....tss whats wrong with people nowadays.
I agree and disagree. Nudity doesn't bother me but for young children that don't pay attention to the You-Must-Be-This-Age-Or-Older-To-Read things, it kinda might get a bit disturbing. I have no further comment...

~OH LOOK THERE I AM!~
wow, this is quite interesting.
i agree with a lot of you but going back and having to find all those posts is tough so i just say i agree with you lot.
There is nothing wrong with the ratings, they are rated right but some rated above and nothings in it as someone stated before.
As for Ciraric's last comment, i don't think that it all should be rated 16+, but mature people should be the ones to read it.
Like Psychic Academy, it doesn't have nudity, but it has sexual tendencies and preferences, and therefore for mature people. if you find any offending, you shouldn't read it. And if you find yourself giggling your butt off or ewing and a scene than it's just an obvious suggestion of immaturity.
Ratings for 13+, i admit, some of those ratings do overlook a few scenes, but then again, many 13+ year olds know this stuff and don't care. I am 14, started reading manga @ 12 and found no problem with any of it. And there are also some people that DO look forward to seeing some stuff in 13+, 16+ rated and then start complaining. it's pretty sad.
someone earlier stated about 16= wrapped in plastic. That is a fals statement. And as for all 18+ i have found a few rated those not wrapped and most 16+ rated not even close to being wrapped.
and i think soemone also stated about parents scanning what their child reads, now that should be done. but don't just look at the pictures, read around it. Alot of some poppers in manga are accidental and bring the plot of the story into place.
And the dude that started this, try to read the stuff before accusing it then compare it to stuff we see and hear now ((i think someone also stated that)). Anime and manga is not so much more different than that of now. I see 10y.o. and 7y.o. waching R rated movies and not get in trouble. I don't see the movies being talked about like this. But anime and manga, it's a cartoon, not like real life, it's fantasy. i think you should get over it.
And follow that dawsey dudes advice, see your manager.
Personally, i prefer the more mature ones, their plots are more intresting and real life. Not some fantasy hiding what is the truth. i mean if you find vulgarness from a book or a picture offending, then open your eyes to the real world and see what people have post on building and on top of taxi's. Check what people advertise here. Now compare and think about what you're saying.
that's all i have to say about that. l8rrrzzz
In the shop I go to 18+ are the only ones wrapped (took me a while to figure it out why BR was wrapped like the hentai)
But can you read what I said? I didn't say it should all be 16+. It should all be 16+ style or 18+ style. That means more gore and sex. 16+ is only 'mild nudity' anyway. So they show breasts!! whoop de doo.
Although it isn't manga I just wanna say- I just bought an 18+ video game the other day. There was a giant "it is illegal to sell rated games to people under age" notice on the till.
So people shouldn't make manga for kids anymore? You forget, this stuff is made for a Japanese audience. Also, not everyone likes lots of gore and sex. Hell, my favorite manga is Sailormoon, and I'm 19.
BTW, some 16+ manga IS wrapped in plastic. Negima is rated 16+ and it's wrapped.
Why shouldn't it be translated? There are younger kids that like anime and manga.
And I'm guessing that if you're saying the Sailormoon anime is shitty you've only seen the English dubbed version. In which case you'd be right, because it was absolutely butchered. The original Japanese version (which is all I watch of that series and most anime I like) is very good, especially the Stars season (which never has been and never will be dubbed into English). And the manga is far better than the anime, this is nearly always the case as the majority of the time an anime is based off a manga.
I don't like immature people. In other words those of age between 9-15.
Although many are quite mature (like myself) I still cannot get passed the collective incompetance of children that age.
Urrghh... I guess it is just that I don't want to share with people I see as idiots. (I am willing to admit why I am wrong... it loses me arguments loads of times).
