This Day We Fight!

Despite the fact that they were about to try and kill each other again, Orion let his concentration wander enough to deftly hit the repeat button on the stereo in mid lunge.

You let me violate you, You let me desecrate you... Trent Reznor's voice thundered louder than that outside their battle ground as the two combatants clashed in mid air, the weight of Orion's body dictating the outcome of their clash, halting Yuri's momentum suddenly and painfully, the two of them crashing hard to the floor and skidding into the far wall.

Help me I broke apart my insides, help me I’ve got no
Soul to tell

Yuri's palm slammed into his midsection as he began to smile in premature victory, knocking the wind from him and sending him flying into the stereo system. He rose quickly, shaking off the pain, oblivious to the loud pop from the stereo as the thunder rolled once more. He lunged, equally oblivious to the accompanying spark and the tiny flame that caught a dangling corner of his bed sheet.

Yuri grinned, baring her fangs in silent ecstasy, delerious with the prospect of burning the Black Knight before her to death and sending him to the violent fires of hell. She grabbed his wrists as he descended upon her, swinging him hard into the wall, and clean through it.

With a hiss she lept through after him, unaware of the twin eyes that had appeared within the fire's depths, unaware of the accompanyiing fanged grin. She lept upon Orion before he could recover, wrapping her arms around his kneck and her legs around his waist, twisting him into a chicken wing hold.

The fire completely consumed Orion's room, tendrils of red death licking through the hole in the wall, teasing, threatening to devour the two combatants, the demon within its depths cackling quietly in glee.

Ignoring the strange sound that echoed through the room, Orion elbowed the floor frantically, it cracking with every inhumanly powerful blow, until it finally gave way.

Despite herself, Yuri let forth a yelp at the giving way of the solid beneath her, instantly tightening her hold in anger until the eventual impact of hitting the next level cause her to release her hold on the heavy metal vamp.

Orion hand sprung himself upright as the fire creeped through the hole above them, demonic eyes watching on all the while. The Black Knight glanced around him, grinning at realising who's appartment they had ended up in, and grabbing one of Ken Kang's ceremonial katana's from their stand. Throwing a second to Yuri, he raised a brow with a feral grin.

"This is getting interesting, no?" With a roar, he ripped the blade from its scabbard and loped towards her, their meeting blades showering sparks around them, glinting within the fire's demonic eyes. A tongue of fire protruded, swirling, an action that looked spookily like a creature licking its lips in anticipation, as Yuri forced the bigger Vampire onto the back foot.

Flames licked across the entire roof, raining droplets of fire down upon them as Yuri's attack reached its zenith, a furious tempo that Orion could not defend himself against, her blade taking him in the shoulder, severing his sword arm.

The bellow of pain that shot from his throat shattered the windows, the fire roaring at the in-rush of oxygen and exploding, sending both combatants flying out the side of the appartment building amidst a shower of plaster and shattered brick.

Orion missed the snow and landed hard in the ice covered car park, his severed arm, that had been attached by a mere thread of skin, now detaching completely and skidding across the icy surface.

Yuri appeared over him quite suddenly, upper body completely naked, charred and smoking, her face set in a painful grimace, sword raising, oblivous to the fire behind her forming a human appearance, the great white armoured figure stalking her silently as she prepared to deliver her death blow.

It hit Orion then, harder tha her impending blow could ever hope to do, for within the reflection from her sword, he saw his dastardly act replayed in full before his very eyes, from his brother's point of view. The White Knights thoughts during the act played through his mind, revealing the truth, revealing what the very woman before him had tried to tell him, revealing that he was nothing but a puppet on a demons string, a demon he thought to be his brother.

He didn't hear the parting words that came forth from Yuri's mouth, transfixed now was he to the figure of the Ivory demon drawing its sword and raising it high.

The two blades descended, one faster than the other, one stopping an inch from its target as the other rammed home.

Yuri's mouth worked silently as blood began to trickle from the corner of her mouth, the katana falling from her limp grasp.

"NO!" Orion's cry was accompanied by a loud crack, the demon's head snapping back as the bullet hit its target, fire bursting from the wound as the creature screetched and stumbled backwards from the collapsing Yuri. It dropped to its knees, convulsing, before the fire consumed it, it exploding in a shower of flames that hissed loudly in the falling rain.

Orion didn't waste time wondering how a mere bullet could kill the demon, nor where it had come from, nor the pain or the blood streaming from his severed arm, his total focus on Yuri, who lie on her stomach, sword protruding from her back as a crimson river trickled away with the rain.

"Yuri! Oh, sh*t no!" He yanked the sword from her back, wincing at her cry of pain, knowing from a quick examination that this would be a wound that would not heal, even with their kinds regenerative powers.

He pressed his hand against her wound hard, trying desperately to stem the flow of warm blood, but it ran through his fingers as if the obstacle was not even there.

Tears streamed from his eyes to be washed away with the rain as he gave up the impossible task and rolled her over into his lap, cradling her head in his one remaining arm. "F*ck, Yuri," he croaked, as she hacked up blood.

She gazed at him with dulled grey eyes, the colour of her iris' disappearing as quickly as her life. She opened her mouth to speak, but could only manage a croak before blood streamed from her lips once more.

Orion rocked back and forth, mind gone black, unable to think of what to do, before someting he had forgotten about echoed through his head.

Let me save her

Orion jerked as the presence within him spoke, eliciting a groan of pain from Yuri. Please, Orion begged desperately. Tell me how can I save her

You want her to be more human, and now is your chance. You must give my essence to her. To do so, may very well revert you back to your true blood ways, but you have no choice. My essence...and your blood, is all that can save her now.

Orion nodded absently, not caring what he would become after all was said and done, his sole focus on saving the woman cradled in his arm. Not a thought of what she was, nor the fact that she wanted him dead, dared to enter his mind as he lowered his head and raised hers to meet his neck.

Instinctively, Yuri's teeth sunk into Orion's soft pale flesh, the warm crimson within his being rushing forth onto her tongue, rushing down her throat as she sucked hard, forcing her own blood back down with it.

Orion's mind screamed as the presence within him burst into a thousand colours of light, twisting haphazardly within his skull as it branched out into his blood stream to run towards his neck. His entire being convulsed as the human spirit within him shot forth from the bite in his neck and entered Yuri, spreading through her veins, making her body look like some demonic tapestry of neon light.

She sucked at his neck feverishly and convulsed along with him as the presence converged on the wound, the mending process beginning; capillaries, veins, tendons, muscle, bone and skin beginning to slowly knit back together.

The process nearly complete, the neon light flashed once, brightly, then died away completely, leaving no trace of the once fatal wound, bar a tiny verticle scar.

Yuri gasped, releasing her fangs from Orion's kneck as she sucked in much needed oxygen and bathed in the freezing rain. The heavy metal vamp cradling her in his lap going limp, forehead slumping to rest in the crevice of her neck, unruly, rain soaked fringe splayed across her lower face.

Her arms snaked up without though and wraped around the back of his neck, cradling his head against her. Her vision glanced up at the figure standing over them, umbrella in one hand, gun in the other.

Dante stared down at her with dark eyes.

"He loves you, you know?" The hulking drummer rumbled. "Would you kill that which loves you?" The question hanging in the stormy night, Dante turned on his heel and dissapeared into the darkness as the events of the night caught up with Yuri, she passing out beneath Orion's already unconcious form.

((OOC: Wholey crap that was long...phew...anyway, I am not really sure where that came from, and things have probably come along much quicker than I would have liked, but I decided this would be my way of getting rid of Zen once and for all so I can move Orion out of that stagnant territory...Midnight, I hope you dont mind what I did...I wasnt trying to make Yuri look weak or anything...lol...I dont really know what I was hoping to achieve at the time, and still dont now, but I hope what I have done is alright...if not, just let me know...anywho, after all that, I need a drink...))

(OOC: sorry if this comes out a little blah –and longish- but the humidity screws w/ my concentration horribly…)

Heavy droplets of rain decorated her face, biting her cheeks with only a severity that the cold could rival, the sting alone bringing her to. Her eyes fluttered briefly, the warm weight resting on her neck and bosom a small comfort in the stormy weather. Numbness leaving her, she felt her fingers entwined through soft hair, back frozen against the wet tarmac.

The smell of ash and blood lingered in the air, a mixture of her own and...Orion’s. She frowned, finally opening her eyes to the sky. A wondrous violet grey lit up the clouds, the occasional jagged streak of light decorating the thick ominous blanket hovering above. In awe over the beauty of the night, she slowly gasped, taking in the air, the iced droplets of water.

Glancing aside, Yuri paled, catching sight of an arm but a few feet away…the arm she had cut from Orion. Lowering her attention onto Orion, she pulled her hands through his hair, struggling not to choke on her words. “…Orion?”

He remained still, lifeless. Holding back a wave of emotions, she ground her teeth, speaking stronger. “Orion?! Wake up…please…” she drifted off, eyes growing warm at his lack of response, a quaver starting to form at her final attempt to wake him. Before she even started, a low breath escaped him, a consoling warmth onto her throat.

Using that as her motivation, Yuri pulled herself from beneath his weight, exposing her bare chest to the winter weather. Ignoring her semi-nudity, she checked over Orion, confused at her actions, her feelings. She didn’t know, she didn’t understand why she cared so much. Why she even gave a damn…nonetheless, her vision grew blurry once more, tears hurriedly forced back as she concentrated.

Getting to her feet relatively calm, she wobbled, stilettos impending her balance. Falling to her knees, she scrambled over to her first objective, the detached arm. It had been a clean cut through muscle and bone, nothing medical science couldn’t have attached a few hours earlier.

Despite that cruel fact, she clutched the lone arm tenderly. Finding her strength, Yuri walked back to Orion, resting the separated member on his chest. Grabbing his hand, she lifted it halfheartedly, eyes scanning the parking lot. Only a few cars remained in the dark lot, some SUV’s, a sole Mercedes, three Hummers and lastly, a silver Matrix.

Choosing the closest available vehicle, Yuri dragged Orion up to the passenger door of the Matrix, an anxious curiosity revealed from a weakening lightning strike. Yanking at the handle, she swore, fingers slipping numb from the wet door. It was locked. Looking up to the sky, she laughed. “Of course…why wouldn’t it be?”

Laughing herself to tears, she sobbed heavily on the roof of the car, growing frustrated at the night’s events. The attempted assassination, her incontrollable lust, cutting off Orion’s arm, being stabbed by the demonic entity, saved by the vampire she tried to kill…the vampire who loved her. It was all too much. Cheek resting on the chilled roof, she shook her head bitterly. “It’s f**ked…it’s all f**ked…” She repeated the same line to herself, a voice springing up in the back of her mind.

It’s not ALL f**ked….

Wiping away the last of her tears, Yuri breathed out deeply, exhausted. You HAVE been rather quiet. What exactly would you call this, if not f**ked?

A quiet minute passed, Yuri wondering if she disappeared back into the depths of her mind. Simone’s voice piped up, disrupting her worries. A problem…though, it can be solved easily enough. A Matrix without an alarm? That’s your first bit of luck…shame I don’t carry lock pick tools but you can still use the second best thing…might be a little drafty…

“I see…” Knowing Simone’s unspoken thought, Yuri reared back her fist, smashing the driver’s side window. Unlocking the door from the inside, she swept the glass from the black leather seats, opening up the passenger side. Brushing away the stray strands of raven glued to Orion’s head, she sidled him along the backseat, tucking his arm beneath his form. She couldn’t risk a curious passerby catching sight of her bleeding backseat rider.

Securing herself into the driver’s side, Yuri let Simone partially take over, deft fingers toying with multiple wires by the steering wheel. Curious…

A small chuckle was heard. What? Never jacked a car…? Heh, this has to be my second time, courtesy of my sister’s teachings. God bless her soul.

I did not know you have a sister.

HAD a sister…
corrected Simone. Apathy entered her tone. It’s a long story. The engine came to life, barely heard over the low rumble of thunder in the background. A bright red backlight lit up the dashboard, navigation system emitting a bright illumination before starting up. After Yuri agreed to the terms of driving safely, it faded into a map, floodlights coming on after fifteen seconds. So…bodysnatcher…what’s the game plan? I take it you’re gonna let him off?

Rolling her eyes, Yuri picked up a worn headscarf from the glove compartment. Shrugging, she wrapped it around her upper being, it serving as her makeshift top. Yes…I…I just need a reason. An honest reason over his atrocity committed. Then I will let him be…I can not bring myself to kill him… She closed her eyes, almost disgusted by her weakness. She sighed. But as for the ‘game plan’ as you like to put it. I intend to find the most efficient/quick way to reattach Orion’s arm. But I only know of three ways. One would be to drive back to the grotto and have either Airy or Khimaria repair the damage. However, not only is it too far out the way, but it is risky driving in this weather. My second option is Lucky, but his skills ARE limited. Unfortunately, I have only one choice. Saying no more, Yuri slammed her heel into the pedal, beginning to speed from the lot.

And that choice would be…? Inquired Simone.

Revealing a canine in her annoyance, Yuri tilted her head, careening around a corner. I must pay a…visit to a certain underground society…

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Clenching her jaw against Orion’s weight on her shoulder, Yuri stared deadpan, a cold malice revealed from each burning scarlet torch aligning the walls. Distant droplets of rain tepidly fell to the dank, stone floors, shadows mutating ominously in the mystical air.

Briskly making a right, she frowned; stilettos loudly revealing her presence with each intone clunk. Ahead of her, a robed figure bowed their head in respect, hiding the abnormal decay of yellowing flesh and bone with a tattered brown hood. “Mistress Yuri, it…” The figure immediately trailed off, a cruel hazel glare thrown their way.

Growling low in her irritation, Yuri reached her destination minutes later, a strangely bright stone clearing. The luminescence came from seemingly nowhere, an ethereal unholy light. Of the five fang members coordinating in the main chamber, only four noticed her presence. To the fifth one, she tossed the unconscious Orion and his arm to the member’s feet. Brief disgust flashed across the white clothed member, Yuri arching her brow before speaking. “Fix…him…”

The member clad in unearthly white, the Elder, glared to her from ancient amber. “Excuse me?”

Her brow twitched. “I will not repeat myself.”

A second member, a minion, stooped over Orion. Analyzing the pale vampire, he spoke with a flare of sophistication. “And what makes you think we can ‘fix’ him?”

Hiding her fears behind a mask of nonchalance, she questioned. “Can you?”

The Elder spoke, a hint of arrogance heard. “Of course, but that is irrelevant. The point is, in order for us to…cooperate, we need a balance. An equivalent exchange,” Narrowing his eyes to Yuri, he grinned, a creepy set of jagged yellow revealed. “And no, not your arm. Rather, you are to be given a set of tasks to be completed.”

“Oh?” Yuri folded her arms over her chest, tapping an impatient heel to the floor. “And just what would these tasks be? I would hope it does not have me opposing my people. You know what I will do to you if that is the case…you know what she will do to you…” She almost laughed out loud at the expressions the members shared with each other.

Recovering first, the Elder clasped his hands together. “Lady Khimaria needs not get mixed up in this. Your first task is simple…involving a little manipulation on your part. For this objective, you must get Orion,” He glanced down to the sleeping vampire. “To seduce and sleep with the Porcelain Child within the next seven days…by the 31st to be exact. From there, she will be more than willing to play by our rules. What say you to this task?”

Yuri’s mouth stood agape in disbelief over what had been asked of her. Stunned, she casually glanced aside, tightening her hold over her arms. “It is not my choice to make and Orion’s decision alone. If he truly feels the need to sleep with this child, so be it, but I will play no hand in his decision.”

To her astonishment, the members of the Fang burst into a fit of giggles, apparently humored by some inside joke. A member to the far left bowed his head slightly. “My deepest apologies…but perhaps you have misinterpreted us? With the death of our recreation…his brother…we no longer have anyone to pull his strings…play the puppet master. This is where you come in play. In order for us to graft his arm back on, you must agree to our terms. In order for the outcome of the coming war to favor in your odds, the Porcelain Child must be turned over to your side.”

Stroking her chin, Yuri raised a brow. “By any means possible, I presume,” She felt herself grow bitter at the idea, the prospect of urging Orion into another woman’s arms…a strong sense of…jealousy. Sucking her teeth, she drummed her nails along her arms. “I am rather curious to know, what do you all hope to gain from this war? There has to be some underlying reason why you would go through all this trouble.”

The Elder smiled, resting a clammy hand on her bare shoulder. “All in due time, Mistress Yuri, all in due time. I take it you will agree?” She silently nodded, unable to condemn herself verbally. His smile grew wider, thin decaying skin threatening to tear. He motioned two members in her direction, eyes glowing excitedly. “To make sure you do not forget, we will brand you. Try not to pass out…though screams are welcome.”

He grinned evilly, Yuri only able to growl demonically before being dragged away…

*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~**~*~

“Room 811…812…814, there we go!” Coming to an abrupt halt outside the white Marriot hotel door, Yuri gently leaned Orion to the wall. His arm had been reattached but an hour earlier, a red ring surrounding the cut area. Sliding her wallet back into the inner pockets of her skirt, she opened the door, a clean cozy room coming into view.

“I like it already…” Rubbing a hand past the back of her neck, she cringed at the pain associated with the motion. Every so often, a small pain flared up from the branding she’d been forced to undergo. Ignoring the minor irritation, she carried Orion into the room, laying him across the queen size bed.

Pouting, Yuri slipped out of her clothes and the unbearable black stilettos, throwing them into the far wall. She scowled heavily at the shirt ending a few inches above the knees across the bed. Not many clothing stores were open at three in the morning but amazingly enough; she’d landed herself at a smut store before arriving to the hotel.

Unfortunately, the only tasteful outfit had been a black shirt holding a bunny with a bowtie. It was better than the alternative, a sheer reveal-all teddy which practically screamed ‘screw me now’. She laughed at her thoughts, knowing she’d have to stick with the t-shirt unless she wished to sleep in her sullied clothing or in the nude. Yes, the shirt will have to do…

Heading to the bathroom, Yuri stopped, a small groan leaving Orion. Glancing back to the sleeping vampire, she raised her brow. “Hmm…” She glanced to the walls, wondering if the beige paint hid watching eyes. Gulping, she tiptoed to the sleeping figure, soon hovering over him. “…Orion?”

He didn’t acknowledge her, caught in a dream. Brushing back a strand of cold damp hair, under a spell, Yuri lightly pounced on top of him. She stared to him hard in scrutiny. Lowering her face to his, she said, “I do not understand. The first day we met we tried to kill each other…we were nothing but cross, the occasional good act leading to suspicion. And when…”

Yuri grabbed his face. “And when I try to kill you, you save me, you save my life…you love me,” She closed her eyes, Dante’s words haunting her the moment they left his mouth. Her eyes grew watery, despite herself. She shook her head. “It cannot be so, it can’t. I know what happens to those who love me and vice versa. Do not let it happen to yourself…”

Searching his face, she sighed, unsure of what she was looking for. Swallowing hard, she tilted her head in a ‘what the hell’ notion. She’d steal a kiss…just once, just to know where she stood, how she felt. Closing her eyes, she kissed him lightly, growing enthusiastic after a passing second. Holding him tighter, she brushed her hands through his hair, growing euphoric by the taste of his lips, his scent alone.

Hands eased themselves along her bare back, rushing to meet her face. She shivered, delirious in her enjoyment, the lips shifting beneath her to better meet hers. Pressing herself closer in anticipation, it was only at a low roll of thunder she came to a realization.

Jumping off of Orion, she grabbed at the sheets, draping the white comforter about her as a makeshift dress. Blushing furiously, Yuri glanced away from the bewildered Orion, he partially awake and staring. Coughing lightly, she backed up into the door. “Sorry…I did not…mean to wake you in such a manner. I…stopped off at a hotel for the evening. Figured we could discuss things when you were back to full health.”

Tracing the line in his arm, he swung his legs over the side of the bed. “…How?”

Sliding herself to the bathroom door, Yuri nervously waved away the question. “I will explain later…after I freshen up a bit, hmm?” Waiting for no response, she flung the sheets in his direction, swiftly ducking into the bathroom. Closing the door, she sighed, falling against the door shakily. She felt her kiss had complicated more than helped her.

Hoping a shower would help her regain her composure, she stepped into the glistening white tub, humming deeply beneath her breath the straightforward song heard a few hours back. She needed some form of distraction and even if it were that, it would have to suffice…

(ooc: okay, that’s all I can manage. Exhausted right about now…Decomp, hope you don’t mind me mending up your character a wee bit…)

(OOC: Nah, I don't mind at all midnight, not at all...)

Orion held his arm up, gazing at it fascinated, again tracing the line of the join. He didn't know how Yuri had managed it, though few could do such a job so quickly, so he could probably guess. The one answer that immediately came to mind was one he refused to acknowledge, the price to pay would be high for such services. They wouldn't seem high at face value, but high they would be, and Orion shuddered to think of what they would ask in return.

Pushing thoughts of Them out of his mind, Orion rose gingerly to his feet, swaying on the spot for several moments before gaining some semblance of balance. The sound of the shower from the bathroom served to sooth his mind as he crossed to the mini-bar and sought out the tiny bottle of Jim Beam he knew would be there. Frowning heavily when his eyes sought no such bottle, he cursed under his breath and stomped aross the room to the window, gazing out into the storm.

He loves you, you know....Would you kill that which loves you?

Dante's words skittered across his thoughts, making the heavy metal vamp's frown deepen, his head lowereing with a sigh. "Perhaps it is so...perhaps it is not." He raised his head back to the storm. "I think, now, it is not...I am dead inside...hollow...stripped of the part of my being that allowed me such thoughts...Now I see what it was talking about...now I understand the sacrifice. How can I love her when I feel this way?"

Orion sighed heavily once more, his head hanging again. He wanted to love her, more than anything, but the feelings just wouldn't come without that human side within him.

Shaking his head at the thought of his sacrifice, he flopped on the bed with a groan. He would have to think of a way to fall in love with Yuri as he was, as his true blooded Vampire self. Yes, that was it. If it was the last thing he ever did, he would force his feelings for her to rekindle.

Unraveling her braid, Yuri let the powerful stream of water cleanse her hair, sighing slowly at the end of her shower. It had calmed her down somewhat, cleared her mind of most of the immoral thoughts running through her mind. Reaching for the spotless golden knobs, she paused, glancing through the opaque glass of the tub and to the door. It remained closed, locked, her shower undisturbed.

She arched a trademark raven brow. Keeping the shower on, Yuri stealthily stepped out the tub, landing lightly on the off-white rug. Again, her eye fell to the door. She didn’t want to get caught, she couldn’t. Now at the wall, she took the phone off its hook, thankful there was one in the bathroom.

Now what in hell was his number…? Phone casually in hand, she brooded heavily on the matter, brows furrowed in thought. Eventually, it came to her, Yuri wincing at each button pressed. Biting her lip, she listened impatiently to the phone, letting out a low breath of frustration on the fourth ring.

About to hang up in disdain, the person on the other end finally picked up. “The Marriot? Such style…how was your evening, Yuri? A little hotter than usual?”

The urge to curse him out was unbearable. Slapping her palm against the wall, she breathed darkly, speaking shakily. “You knew…Lucky,” She closed her eyes tightly. “Why did you not tell me? If you knew all this would happen, why the fu-”

“I didn’t know…” murmured Lucky. “I saw a portion of how the beginning of your night would play out but not all things are foreseeable. The latter portion of your battle was seen in…real time, for lack of a better term. Sorry for how I greeted you.”

“Forgiven,” said Yuri abruptly. “For now. There’s a reason why I called you, not just to let you in on my status. I need info on the Porcelain Child. What do you know, if anything?” Twirling the cord, her gaze stayed fixed on the silver doorknob.

“The Porcelain Child…” he pronounced the name pensively, already searching his mind for past news on the being. He whistled into the phone after a minute. “For one, she’s powerful….strong…her abilities are unknown…well, to me anyways but I know one thing she’s well known for.” He chuckled heartily into the phone.

Rubbing at a fang, Yuri frowned. “And what would that thing be?”

“Her large arse bust size. Like a little bit of heaven,” Hearing Yuri’s groan of distaste; he laughed into the phone, settling down after a warning growl from the agitated vampiress. Clearing his throat, he continued, “Her current identity is of a drug lord if I’m not mistaken. She has several locations where she conducts business.”

“Business? Such as?”

“Business as in smuggling arms, drugs, and other items of interest…” he whispered mysteriously, allowing Yuri to come up with her own conclusions. His voice grew thoughtful. “I think she may even have a brothel in operation…possibly…a way to treat potential clients, ya know?”

“Brothel?”

“Prostitution house…why, interested?”

Yuri’s nails began to lengthen, a dangerous glare to her eye. She smirked. “You know, I find it hilarious all the shit you can talk over the phone. Any more smartass comments you wish to get out your system?”

“No, a question is all I have in mind,” He spoke coolly, apparently in a somber mood. “Why the sudden interest in the woman? What does she have to do with anything?”

Now it was Yuri’s turn to grow serious. Squeezing the phone cord, she stared down to the floor tiles. “Tell me…how much of the evening did you see?”

“Hmm…I stopped watching once you and Orion fell unconscious. Why, my dear, do you ask?”

Breathing out slowly, Yuri turned on the faucet, determined to drown out her conversation. She ran her fingers through her hair. “When I woke up…I did not know what to do, I was confused. I knew of only one place to go, one group that would efficiently reattach his arm. I owed him that much after saving my life, I was desperate. I,” She bit her lip. “I went underground…they agreed to the process. Under a condition of course…that being I complete a set of tasks. But I would rather shoot myself than do the first.”

Sounding partially worried, he asked. “What do you have to do?” Yuri mumbled incoherently into the phone. He narrowed his eyes. “Only God could hear that…speak up,” Again, the same low mumble. He lost his patience. “Yuri!”

Snapping, Yuri shouted, “For the love of-, I have to get Orion to, to f**k this Porcelain b*tch by the 31st of the month, but I would rather fall on my katana! I detest the idea of manipulating him but I HATE, and I mean HATE the idea of me convincing him to f**k somebody to benefit the god damn fang! I’d rather-”

“Sweetie, your loud,” interrupted Lucky, shaking his head with a rueful smile.

Sinking to the bathroom floor, Yuri let her gaze linger to the ceiling. Sighing, she lowered her tone. “I know…I needed to vent. It helped…though I still know I screwed up. I screwed up, and now I have to suffer. Gods, damn it all!”

He chuckled jovially. “Don’t worry too much on it, luv. You’re a bright woman…when you’re not thinking of assassinations or screwing around. Put that brain to use, eh?”

“So confident…” She smiled, a little reassured. “What have you seen?”

“Not a damn thing.”

“What?” Getting to her feet, Yuri teased. “No longer taking your little peeks? Afraid of what you might end up seeing in the near future?”

Her question was meant to be rhetorical, but nonetheless, he answered. “In a word, yes,” Yuri lost the small smile she’d gained, Lucky speaking strangely. “Goodnight Yuri…good luck,” he hung up, leaving Yuri with the dial tone.

Frowning, Yuri gently placed the phone on its receiver. She stepped back into the shower, soaking herself before turning off the shower. Wrapping a freshly laundered towel around her body, she turned off the faucets, shaking out her hair. Unlocking the door, she peeked into the room, Orion laying on the bed deep in thought. She coughed to gain his attention. “Pass me the shirt…the one with bunny and the bowtie?”

Not even glancing, he felt along the mattress for the shirt, soon pitching the top in her direction. Catching it deftly, Yuri threw it on over her head, letting the towel slip to the floor. Hanging the towel back in the bathroom, she focused all her energy into stretching out her shirt, back to the second available phone.

Grinding her teeth, she flushed, feigning a calm composure. Eyes down to her shirt, she mumbled. “Orion…you happen to know who fired that shot? Back in the parking lot?”

“Dante.” He answered simply.

“Ah…did you…did you hear what he told me? An interesting little comment followed by a question,” Looking up, Yuri found Orion wearing a strange expression, preparing to get off the bed. Focus back on her shirt, she shrugged casually, feeling anything but. “Was it-, is it true? It would not matter much if-”

“I need to try something, maybe it might…”

She made a face, cutting herself off. “What are you talking about?” She stopped pulling at her top once Orion’s shadow blocked off the light. He hovered inches away from her, holding a ‘should I or should I not’ expression. Gulping, Yuri vaguely heard him repeat himself, fingers scrambling for the phone behind her.

Planting it into his chest, Yuri cocked her head to the side. “How about you try room service? I would really like a bit of Hypnotiq before I retire. Phones have never been my thing but I am sure you will be more successful, hmm?” She was lying through her teeth but it was the only thing she could come up with.

Giving him a friendly pat on the chest, she walked around him to the bed, sitting down wide-eyed as Orion called the bar. It wasn’t Orion she was worried about…she trusted him well enough. It was herself that worried her more than anything else. Gods give me control…please-

Orion’s voice cut through her prayer, blue eyes staring flatly. “They said they don’t do room service at this time of night. You’ll have to go down to the bar.”

A burst of pain erupted from the back of her neck. Squeezing her arm to hold back a grimace, Yuri nodded. “Hang up, I can do without,” Closing her eyes against the burning sensation, she struggled to speak properly. “I am slightly fatigued…we can talk in the morning,” Motioning him over, pain fading away, she relaxed, slapping the left side of the bed. “This is YOUR half, the right will be mine. We keep our hands to ourselves and everything will be fine.”

He narrowed his eyes, apprehensively approaching his side. “We are…sleeping together?”

Crawling beneath the sheets, Yuri shrugged, putting her back to his side. “Here is how I see it. I am not sleeping on the carpet or in the bathtub and I will not make you do so. Secondly, I am not spending money for a cot. In other words, get comfy, heavy metal. You need your rest….you do, after all, have a date with Miss Porcelain.”

“How do you know about her?”

Dismissing the question as trivial, Yuri snuggled herself deeper into the sheets, hair dampening the pillow. “Dante mentioned you had a date with a mob boss child. It did not take too long to figure out. If that fire obliterated most of your belongings, I will take you shopping tomorrow. You’ll be gorgeous…you will be perfect…”

You’ll be hers… The thought alone almost made Yuri rip apart her pillow. Shaking away her rage, she hid it behind a careless air. “I would have bought you something to change into but the only thing they had were leather pants-”

“That does not sound too bad-”

“-with the ass out. It seemed a tad bit too eccentric. So I am sorry to say but if you wish to shower now, you will have to wear the same jeans to bed,” Nearly entranced by the baby blue lamp on the white dresser, she sighed, speaking beneath her breath. “Night Orion…”

(ooc: originally didnt intend to post from this but what with exams going on and my weekend pretty much booked, I figured I should write an extra long post thingy before I go on a sorta hiatus....)

Pacing across the carpet for possibly the hundredth time in the past half hour, Yuri pivoted on her heel once more, knuckles clenched tightly behind her back. Furrowing her brows in concentration, she kept a steely hazel gaze to the floor, growing antsy at each passing minute on the Satellite box.

Orion had made no comment for the first ten minutes, staring plainly after twenty minutes, a flare of annoyance visible after thirty minutes and Yuri still walking in circles. Letting out a loud breath, he asked. “I thought you were going to sleep…?”

She hissed in response, baring her fangs. Sighing heavily, she mumbled her apologies before increasing her pace. “Sleep through the day, hunt at night…that is the myth surrounding us vampires, no? Well, that is no myth. I cannot sleep so early…it is not yet even three! I need to hunt, I need to…” She pulled at her slowly crinkling hair. “I do not even know!” She glared wide-eyed to the red LCD numerals of the clock. “All…I know…is I…am losing…the little…sanity…I have….”

Tilting his head some, he held nothing but skepticism. “You would think going through a near death experience would be enough for one evening…”

“That is actually my second one this week,” admitted Yuri quietly, gently brushing two strands of grey behind her ear. She rose a brow, eyes resting on Orion. “But now that you mention it…there IS something I have been meaning to address,”

Striding up to him, she calmly fell into his lap, heavily scrutinizing the bemused heavy metal vamp. Hands playing through his hair, she looked him in the eye. “If you happen to know it was Dante that fired the shot, I take it you heard what he said to me,” Her eyes gained a strange hue, voice low. “Was it…is it true? Do you feel…” she drifted off, Orion no longer willing to look her in the eye.

Flushing at her mistake, her hands limply fell from his cheeks, face turned towards the same startling baby blue lamp. She laughed weakly in an attempt to break the awkward moment. “That was my mistake. I should have known better. I DID, after all, try to kill you.” Getting up, she started to head to the door, a yank to her wrist pulling her back.

He still wouldn’t, or rather, couldn’t look her in the eye. Lightening his hold on her wrist, he sighed. “It’s not that way. Dante…he didn’t say that as a way for you to spare my life-”

“Ah-,” Yuri held up a finger on her free hand, a quavering sort of smile forming. “But you do not hold any feelings toward me, that is correct, right?” He didn’t answer, her smile broadening as she slipped her wrist from his grasp. Rubbing the area tenderly, she whispered. “I thought so. It is okay,” She shrugged, turning in search for her mini-skirt. “You do not have to care for me-”

“What about your fe-”

Yuri laughed hollowly before he could finish the word, nails digging into her arm. Currently, she felt like slapping herself hard across the face. It had nothing to do with her naivety or earlier curiosity. No…it dealt directly with her blurring vision, the disbelief surging through her that she was desperately fighting back tears. From what, she wasn’t sure. Humiliation, anger, pain…all of the above.

Controlling her voice as best as possible, she stated, “My feelings do not matter. I rarely have those anyways.” She could sense her answer hadn’t been good, it wasn’t enough. Grinding her teeth, she halfway turned to him, hazel eyes mischievously glossy. Smiling demonically, she flexed out her fingers, cracking her neck. “Oh, my sweet Orion.”

Licking her lips, Yuri pounced on top of Orion, knocking him down to the bed. Twirling him onto his chest, she laid on his back, arm wrapped playfully around his neck in a mock chokehold. Whispering slyly, she breathed into his ear. “Orion…does it have to be about love?” She laughed lightly. “Sex even?” Stroking his hair, she buried her cheek into his hair. “I know you never even mentioned the second but I just had a thought…is it not possible for a vampiress and a vampire to just be friends…is it not possible for us?”

Flipping her onto her back to her shock, he pinned her down, sapphire eyes narrowed doubtfully. “Do you truly believe that yourself?”

Wrapping her legs around his waist, Yuri grinned deviously, pulling a hand from his hold. Yanking his head downward, she breathed on his lips seriously. “Take off your jeans…” He cocked a brow, Yuri smirking. “Do get your mind from the gutter, I did not mean it in reference to that. I wish not to wear that poor excuse for a skirt once more…your jeans will have to suffice.”

“What do you need my jeans for?” He looked her up and down, making no move to shift from the position.

“Because…” Yuri closed her eyes, taking a breath. “I would rather not go down to the bar as an over revealing wench.”

“Drape a towel around your shoulders,” He eased up off her, smirking at his next words. “I am sure you’ll look fine,” Yuri’s eyes narrowed to slits, a venomous smile in play. Orion glanced aside with a distant expression, arms folded over his chest. “Yuri…” She paused slipping on her skirt, attention on Orion. He hesitated. “I…were you serious? About us just being ‘friends’?”

Her grip loosened, she caught off guard. Recovering gracefully, she offered a lopsided smile. “It really does not matter…what we become…as long as I can be by your side…” Contemplating her last words, she chuckled oddly “That came out more sympathetic than intended but you get the idea, right?” Stilettos in place, she stretched her hands up carelessly. “I will see you when I see you…”

Shuffling a hand through a pocket, Orion eventually frowned. “While you are down there, do you think you can pick up a bottle of whiskey? I’ll pay you back.”

Grinning from the entrance to the hallway, Yuri winked. “Sure…maybe,” Leaving it at that, she closed the hotel door, smile fading out in the resplendent hall. Lowering her gaze to the floor, she craned her neck miserably. “Playing a role outside of the job…and for what?” Groaning, she rubbed her cheeks vigorously, starting down the hall. “What is wrong with me?”

Sounds like someone’s falling HARD for a certain heavy metal vamp, Simone chuckled deviously. And now she’s going to drown her sorrows at the bar-

Bullshit,
snorted Yuri defensively. Hitting the silver call button for the elevator, she arched a brow. And for your information, I am not going to the bar.

Oh?

Entering the pale green box, Yuri hit the ‘M’ button, descending downwards. No… Reaching the ground floor, she examined her nails under the soft but radiant light. As I said, I need something to keep busy. I will walk around for a bit. Maybe-

Wait. Back up.

Yuri made a face, halting in the middle of her stride. Taking a large step backwards, she found a bathroom door to her left, a grey label indicating it to be the women’s room. Pushing open the door, she stepped inside, porcelain tiles reeking of ammonia, mirrors glistening from Windex. “Something special in here?”

Last stall on your right.

Complying with the youth, Yuri ventured down the lane of toilets, peeking inside the destined stall. Everything seemed in order, bowl smelling of freshener, clean wooden vent overhead bringing in a current of cool AC despite the frigid outdoor temperature. Yuri tapped an impatient heel, Simone explaining.

The vent…it leads down to the changing room in Victoria’s Secret. It’s one of the stores in the mini-mall of the basement. Know that much because last time I was down there I heard a friend of mine and her boyfriend having a quickie in the stall a good two months back. Noise carries really well in certain parts of this place.

What is a quick-
Shaking her head, Yuri changed her mind, balancing on the toilet seat. Forget it. If you have mentioned it, it probably is something I do not wish to- Grunting, she yanked the vent off from it screws. Exhaling, she dropped the vent cover to the floor. Hear about.

Oh, maybe it is. I know its something you wish-

Nuh…uh uh uh, zip it. I do not want to hear it.
Crawling inside the cool aluminum vent, dim lighting came from slow spiraling fans, knees gently creeping along the floor. Coming across a rectangular hole, Yuri suspended herself over the fall, estimating it to be no more than ten feet. Taking a risk, she let go, tumbling down into the depths of the Marriott.

Clumsily dropping to the bottom, she winced at a knock to a nerve. Exhaling, she ignoring the minor jolt of pain, kicking out the vent entrance to her right. Peeking around, she found the area in shadow, light grey carpet freshly vacuumed hours ago.

Stealthily entering the new area, she shouldered open the door, walking down another hall and to the main portion of the extravagant store. She almost clapped in her glee. The clothing, though at times revealing, seemed along the lines of attire she’d wear.

Uh…bodysnatcher. I guess now would be a wrong time to say I didn’t mean for you to actually go down here!

Is that not a pity?
Yuri had already begun to remove a pair of leather pants from a hanger. The sides were laced together with a thin black rope, silver belt and headband topping off the outfit. Putting on the pants, she shrugged. If that is the case, you should not have stopped my walk. Borrowing a small knapsack, she folded her skirt inside the bag, pulling off the beige clips attached to each item.

Easily lifting the silver gates from the store entrance, she frowned, Simone speaking precautious. I wasn’t thinking before…but I find it strange the alarm hasn’t gone off. Even more so…the security cameras are inactive.

Eh?

Take a look…

(ooc: Part two...longer than I thought....)

Glancing upwards to a small black camera hovering above a green and white Gap banner opposite her, she squinted to be sure. There was no whirring from the electrical device, no small beeping light, no life in the metallic object. Grip tightening over the string on her bag, her head whipped to further down the mall. It is also funny…because I detect no scents.

Huh, than maybe someone’s just looking down on us-

No…
Shaking her head, Yuri closed her eyes in focus, brows furrowing in her concentration. You misinterpreted that to be a good thing. Child, considering this is a mall of sorts, there should be a large degree of smells in the area. I do not know how…but someone has effectively managed to dull a portion of my senses. However, A golden hazel eye opened, directed towards the darker section of the mall. I hear a noise…it is calling out to me.

The…the…the siren!?
Simone sounded on the verge of fainting.

The fountain! Snapped Yuri, rolling her eyes at the youth’s dramatics. She stood musingly in place. She wasn’t positive who would go through all the trouble, what was behind the weirdness in the miniature mall. Another suspicious set-up…and my move.

Growing vindictive, Yuri began on a methodic stroll to the center of the little mall, the sound of rushing water increasing with each minute. It was an overwhelming punishment to her ears, the intensity of the echoing water in the empty locale brutal, mannequins eerily smiling in the dim luminosity adding to the foreboding atmosphere.

Rounding the last corner, she winced, multiple lights going off, certain stores left to their unsettling shadows, marble pillars concealing the grinning dummies. Shielding her eyes from the worst of it, she whistled to the carousel, horses going in their endless circle to an off-beat tune. The fountain, a few feet in front of the kiddy attraction, glowed in an array of colors, violet blue hues shooting up to the ceiling. Sucking the side of her cheek, Yuri finally commented, mildly amused. “Yo…”

A red headed woman, back to Yuri, seemed entranced by the light and water show. Hair tightly braided, she was clad in spiked metal work boots, leather trench coat flowing from a freelancing wind. She spread out her hands, voice surprisingly husky. “Beautiful…simply beautiful. This evening…the night…you.”

“What a compliment…” Yuri risked a step closer to the mysterious female, hairs rising slightly. “…though how can you make it when you have yet to see my face…?”

“Raven hair…hints of grey,” The femme danced a hand upwards, black nails shining marvelously from a cobalt spurt of water. “Hazel eyes, delicious skin, you smell so lovely…you’ll taste even better. So beautiful you are.”

Amused and perturbed by her second to last comment, Yuri grew serious. “You know so much of me. Are you an admirer…a stalker…or irony of ironies, an assassin?”

“Neither and all at once,” responded the woman. She turned halfway to Yuri, revealing a tan freckled face, brown eyes dilated to unnatural levels. “I am messenger. It will be clear soon enough…” Turning fully, the female dubbed ‘messenger’ stood slightly hunched over.

Straightening up, she let her head tilt lazily to the side. “So, so beautiful. I want you, Yuri…I have to have you,” She took a step forward. “I want, I need your heart. But it belongs to another…” Her fingers glided effortlessly into her coat, hands pulling out twin Uzis. “No one else deserves it.”

Mouth agape at the two barrels staring her down, Yuri blinked. “You are kidding…” The urge to laugh came, the readying of the guns immediately making it pass. Without another thought, Yuri flipped back, diving aside as the bullets tore through her temporary barrier, the grand marble pillar of the mall.

Blocking off the dust cloud arising from the shattered marble with a palm, she refused to chance sticking her head out the side, letting the trigger happy female waste her magazines on the cylindrical block. She didn’t seem to care, casually throwing aside the submachine guns. Taking a raspy breath, she charged, burying her fist into the weakened barrier.

It hit Yuri in the back, sending the startled vampiress several feet forward. Turning shocked, she held up an arm, fending off a second devastating blow from the fiery redhead. A brutal assault ensued, Yuri on a constant, if not weak defense. It wasn’t that she couldn’t find an opening, but rather, the blows were too punishing to properly concentrate.

Finally catching the girl as she began an uppercut, Yuri jabbed her hard in the center of her neck. Immune to the normally weakening move, she ran Yuri into a wall, grip taut around her throat. Her second hand was just over Yuri’s heart, a sick smile of pleasure derived from feeling her heartbeat. “I almost had it before…master was so close,” A depraved grin formed, nails digging into Yuri’s skin, blood decorating her fingers. “I will retrieve your heart…I will please.”

Holding back a cry, Yuri opted for an angry hiss, kneeing the woman in the crouch. She automatically released her, the vampiress taking the opportunity to elbow her to the head. She frowned, messenger’s skin already beginning to bruise. The redhead leapt to her, meeting only two fingers to the eyes.

Despite her lack of sight, the redhead jump kicked, sending the assassin through the metal gates and glass of the shady power tool store. Pummeling into the back of the store, she fell to the ground, vision threatening to fail her. Shaking away the human weakness, she struggled to her fours, cringing at the sound of crunching glass.

“On your knees…how appealing. The shadows are both friend and enemy. Tonight, they will be only one…which is the question…?” A sound was heard, an object swiped off a counter.

Feeling along the ground, Yuri wrapped her fingers around the wooden handle of a hammer. Swearing beneath her breath at the small weapon, she tucked away a second tool, her back-up for the evening. Meticulously, she got to her feet, slouching somewhat.

Playing with the object in hand, the redhead sighed sadly. “Yuri…my precious lady…my all,” She aimed carefully into the darkness, a wicked sneer crossing her features. “To think master almost,” She fired three shots, three curses erupting from Yuri as the thin screws drilled into her arm, pinning her to the wall. “…‘nailed’ you.” She laughed psychotically at her joke, dropping the nail gun as she ran swiftly to the vampire’s position.

Veering her head out the way of a punch, Yuri lunged out a foot, catching messenger in the chest. In her second of disorientation, she plied the first metal nail from the bone in her arm. Redhead started again, Yuri preparing to kick. Catching her foot in the action, messenger twisted, a second string of curses leaving the vampire. Awkwardly, she drove the four inch heel of her stiletto into the woman’s eye, kicking her back once more.

Wincing, she partially plied out the second and third nail, no longer pinned to the wall. Messenger revealed a scripture engraved switchblade, expert lunges aimed endlessly to Yuri’s head. Dagger skimming past her cheek and shoulder, Yuri put her hammer to use, slamming the metal into the opposing hand. Throwing it to the floor, she took from her back pocket a Philips screwdriver, driving it into her eye. Redhead bellowed, backing away from Yuri.

Panting, Yuri ripped the three nails out her skin, balancing the bloody screws between her fingers. “That…was a horrible pun,” Baring her fangs, she flicked the nails on a direct course to messenger’s neck. Aim true, she pierced along her veins, the woman freezing in stop. Yuri sighed tiredly, beginning to relax. She tensed up instantly from the woman’s insane laughter, her blood decorating the area in scarlet.

Calmly yanking the screwdriver from her eye, messenger smiled, one remaining eye holding a demonic hue. “I sort of liked it but we all have our opinions,” Pouting, she didn’t bother to remove the nails from her neck, lapping up the blood from the tool. She snapped her fingers perkily. “Here’s an idea. I let you take my eye; you let me take your heart. How about it?”

In response, a shelf brimming with cans was pushed onto the redhead, the thick smell of paint bringing a headache to Yuri’s sense of smell. Dashing out the store, Yuri cursed rapidly beneath her breath, her left arm out of commission. Applying pressure to the three bleeding holes, she came to a slow outside a store of oddities and antiquities by the name of Beru…the rest of the name couldn’t be seen.

A voice in her head, a scheme in mind. Giving it a shot, she lifted the rusty gates of the store, breaking the glass of the store. She had no time for subtleties. Picking up a katana, she grimaced, the weight alone hinting at its counterfeit nature. Taking a massive breath, Yuri jumped the counter, taking the expected item in her near useless arm.

“Here kitty kitty…come out and play, my lovely. My eye is on your heart…”

A curse forced down, Yuri took it as her cue, quickly exiting the store. Proceeding to run through the shadowed mall, she stopped outside a Radioshack, an excruciating surge of pain arising from the mark burned into her neck. Screaming, she fell to her knees, fangs bared in her harrowed agony.

Messenger’s shadow towered over her, paint dripping onto her shirt from the dirtied woman. She tsked, rearing back a foot. “You shouldn’t have RUN!” Sounding genuinely infuriated, she kicked Yuri hard in the ribs, sending the vampiress spiraling into a store. Glancing into the window at Radioshack, several appliances went on the fritz, film melting in watching cameras. Growling low, she continued after her prey.

(Part 3...)

Coughing into her free hand, a rosy hue stained her palm. Yuri smiled weakly, shakily getting to her feet. Her vision was blurring rapidly. “Great…my arm is near destroyed…and a slight chance of internal bleeding.” Hearing the sound of glass thrown to her, she relied on her adrenaline, eyes going golden as she roundhouse kicked a bottle of Ponche Cuba into the black register of the liquor store.

Holding onto a handsaw, redhead frowned. “You can’t make this easy…CAN YOU?!?!” Shouting, she swung the saw to Yuri’s neck, the assassin blocking the blow with the flimsy katana. Licking her paint covered lips; she bared her teeth, slashing the vampiress’s shirt.

Fed up with the battle, Yuri kicked off from the wall, blade flashing twice beneath the light. She landed behind the woman, sheathing the katana upon completion. Redhead stood quietly, no scream or tears leaving her, saw arm falling neatly to the ground. Facing Yuri, oblivious to the river leaving her right side, she threw her a deranged glare. “Master will have your heart no matter what…getting at you anyway possible, master will win. You…the scourge of the earth…will never see your day.”

It was at this, Yuri lost herself. Breaking the woman’s nose with a palm lunge, she tripped her to the floor. Pressing her foot into her chest, she kept her in place, taking out her ultimatum from the antiquity store…a RMB-93 pump action shotgun. “My heart belongs to me…and me alone. When I see ‘master’ I’ll personally tell ‘master’ to f**k off. Save you the trouble.”

Ignoring the throbbing of her arm, Yuri drilled the weapon between the woman’s eyes, pulling the trigger. A small rivet of blood developed. Pumping the weapon with her good hand, she repeated the action, continuing until only a bloody mass surrounded by eight shells remained where messenger’s head once lay.

An inhumane squeal emitted from the woman’s corpse, chest arching upwards as she convulsed rapidly in a developing pool of coagulated blood. Her flesh begin to sink in, skin drying up, screams and squeals increasing until at last, all that remained was a sullied trench coat, jeans, and a pile of ashes.

Letting the weapon slip from her fatigued grasp, Yuri collapsed into a shelf of liquor. Exhaling, she winced at the pain associated with the movement. Nonetheless, she chuckled to herself, hand reaching out for the nearest bottle. “What a fight…”

Yuri…Yuri…Yuri… The youth sounded deadly serious. That wasn’t a fight. THAT was a f**king ass whooping! Where the HELL do these b*tches find you!? Shit, is this the THIRD time you got into a fight…within the week?! God…DAMN…

You do have quite the mouth on you…
Opening the bottle, she widened her eyes, the liquid stronger than expected. A small hint of energy returning, she capped the bottle, taking another from a second shelf. Mr. Daniels and Mr. Black…these will have to do. Simone…care to explain how you knew there would be a shotgun in the store?

Simple. My grandfather owns that store…he has a morbid fascination with shotguns…as does my father. They keep ‘em in the most obscure of places. You’d be surprised...

I bet…

Off-topic, in regards to the crazy ass redheaded demonic b*tch codenamed ‘messenger’ what was the message?

Glancing to the woman’s remains, Yuri shuddered, exiting the store. She was not demonic. She was human… The youth was at a loss for words, Yuri stumbling into flashy store. Snatching a few shirts off the rack, she enlightened the bewildered Simone. She was taken over by a parasite; original abilities enhanced tenfold, immunities to pain and fatal blows, all at the cost of her willpower. She became a marionette, the strings cut once the parasite is removed, she is knocked cold or she is beheaded.

Removing her heels, she shoved them inside her bag. Putting on a pair of Chinese slippers, she coughed fiercely into her hand, barely able to keep her balance. She was far too gone for me to be able to safely remove the parasite or knock her cold, death was the only way. The next attack will not be for another while…

Simone’s voice came out shaky. Freaky…but I still don’t get the message.

In short, Kisei has returned…six years ahead of schedule
. Yuri scowled, hand back to applying pressure to her wound. He…she…whatever form they have decided upon, they were not to know about me until the month of the assassination. I have yet to reach my maximum efficiency in this form; there is still too much room for error.

…so…you’re saying if this Kisei guy/girl attacked you directly, you’d be pretty much boned?

Yuri thought about it, nodding. “Basically.”

Great…

Sighing, Simone directed Yuri to the service elevator, deciding to take the quickest method back to the hotel room. Standing outside the door, Yuri unlocked it quietly, Orion awake and at the edge of the bed. Closing the door behind her, she exhaled heavily, Orion staring wide-eyed. “Yuri!? What the hell happened?!” He bolted from the mattress.

Glancing aside, Yuri nibbled her bottom lip. Relaying the whole story would be interesting…but mentioning she got her ass nearly kicked wasn’t on her agenda. Shaking away his helping hands, she stumbled over to the bed, emptying the contents of her bag out. “I tripped.” She lied lamely.

“Down what? A flight of stairs?! Who-”

“Here,” Yuri planted a black tank top and a long sleeve mesh/net shirt into his chest. She collapsed onto the mattress soon after, shrugging. “Got you something to throw on. Wear it or not, your call.”

Resting the clothes on the bed, he ripped the sheets, wrapping up her left arm hastily. Feeling around her rib area, she goaded his hand away, he narrowing his eyes. “I’m trying to check out the damage, see if I can do somethi-”

Twitching, Yuri narrowed her eyes, speaking sharply despite her weakened state. “Orion, let me ask you a question. If I were to ask you to kiss me, would you do it? If I were to ask you to rip off my clothes, throw me down to the carpet, screw me in this very hotel room, right now, would you do it? If the answer is no, then there is nothing you can do.”

Yuri soon burst into light laughter, chuckling at his expression. “Relax, I was kidding, I have my outrageous moments every so often. But on a side note, wake me up within the hour. My ‘trip’ might have broken a few things…that my debit card is not willing to cover...we can make it to a Howard Johnson hotel I saw an hour back.”

Shaking his head, he sat down on the carpet, resting his head on the mattress. Staring hard, he began on a list. “Fire damage, near death experiences, grand theft auto, magical dealings, shoplifting, another count of possible property damage…all within the past FOUR hours.”

Smiling guiltily, Yuri slid from beneath her a bottle of Jack Daniels and Jim Beam Black. Mussing his hair, she sighed. “All in a night’s work,” Pulling him close, she whispered, too dizzy to heed her words. “This is just a taste of chaos. Stay with me and I guarantee I’ll change your life…” Letting him go, her lids fluttered from exhaustion, Yuri succumbing to some much needed sleep.

(ooc: That was longer than I thought it would be....I'm done for the evening...ending didn't come out exactly like I wanted but it'll do....)

This Day We Fight!

Orion stared at the labels on the spirit bottles, eyes slightly dazed, before shifting his focused to the sleeping form of the woman who had quite obviously taken a severe beating. Of course, he wasn't daft enough to believe she had injured herself by accident...

"Tripped..." he mused aloud, shaking his head slightly as he moved the bottles aside. But who would...who could give someone such as Yuri such a thorough arse kicking?

Orion pushed such thoughts away, for it mattered not at the present moment. The spirited firebrand before him had obviously won the fight this night, albeit barely. He ran a hand softly through her hair, pushing aside a few strands of grey that hung across her cheek. Leaning forward, his lips ghosted across her flushed skin, hand strokin her hair affectionately.

Sitting back quickly, he ran a hand through his hair, deftly snatching up the bottle of Jim and ripping off its cap, downing a long mouthful of the firey liquid.

His unfocused gaze drifted out the window into the night, a night now void of rain, only the occasional flash of fading lighteneing and the distant rolling thunder remained. One thing was clear in his mind; he had to get out of here. He had to take Yuri and find somewhere his mind could think clearly, and where he could mend Yuri in peace.

"But where...?" he brought the bottle to his lips again, downing another mouthful. "Where, oh where can my silent place be? Where, oh where can it be?" Snapping his fingers, he smiled. "Got it!"

Placing the bottle of bourbon aside, he hastily slipped into the tank top before pausing, gazing at the mesh tank top in thought. "Rather strong strands..." He glanced at Yuri, "I wonder..." Stuffing the shirt into Yuri's bag, the bottles of bourbon quickly following, he threw the strap over his shoulder, vaguely thinking what a dick he would look like to anyone that might see him outside...

He shrugged such pointless worry away, gently scooping Yuri up in his arms, ignoring the niggling pain of his, now healing, reattached arm. The killer in his arms moaned in her sleep at the movement, but she did not wake, and Orion stared down at her curiously. She reminded him of a cat...or perhaps, more accurately, a tigeress. Cute and inoocent looking whilst alseep, but Orion wasn't foolish enough to fall for such a ruse. He knew what she could be like awake...still, she did look cute in her current state, despite the blood and obvious damage to her form, and an aching feeling panged in his chest.

The heavy metal vampire wasn't sure whether to smile or frown, wasn't sure if the pang was a good feeling, or a bad. Either way, she had stirred something within him, and the realisation suddenly heartened him, finally bringing that smile to his lips. Now he knew he could love her. It would take much time, Orion was willing to accept that, but, in the end, he would fall for her.

Smile widening further, he booted the door to their room clean off the hinges, and whisked out into the clearing night in search of transport.

(ooc: Know this is a little short, but I figured I should write something before I go away for the weekend…I’ll be back with a proper post within the next two days…hopefully…)

The night was chilly, rumbling in the distance. A bitter wind blew around, almost biting, almost stinging, almost stirring the sleeping vampiress from her slumber. However, her sleep was deeper than that, exhaustion and fatigue wearing out her being, eyes refusing to open, ears picking up only the hum of an engine and nothing else of the early morning.

Face buried into something soft, something plush, she wasn’t even sure, a twinge of pain came with each breathe, mark along her neck inching ever so carefully down her back. Groaning slightly with little breath, she urged her body farther into sleep, needing to heal the multiple wounds adorning her battered body.

Sinking into the depths of her mind, or rather, into the youth’s reality, Yuri ignored the pair of mystical eyes drilling into her wasted form. She had to concentrate on her body, whatever was going on in reality she’d deal with later. Minutes into her meditation, eyes never leaving her, she averted attention away from the restoration process, analyzing her subconscious entity.

The entity, Simone, seemed to be doing the same, a question playing along her lips but never being asked. A mixture of curiosity and weariness marked her ghost like features, she a spectre in her world. Hesitating, she soon found her voice, solemn and calm. “A question has been bothering me ever since your last battle…a little curiosity of sorts. It has to do with something you said and it has been making me wonder-”

“The point…?” interrupted Yuri, voice below a whisper.

“It actually doesn’t matter…but I have to ask. Do you…hmm…play both sides of the field?” Receiving only a look of annoyance, she rephrased. “Back in your olden days, you ever switched sides…?” Around Yuri’s temple, a vein began to bulge ever so slightly, eyes flashing dangerously. Clarifying, she said, “I remember the weirdo messenger girl said this Kisei person almost nailed you. So when they seduced you, was it as a woman or a man?”

A smile cracked her lips, Yuri wincing from the motion. Getting the idea, she inquired. “Why do you care…?”

Narrowing her eyes, Simone arched a brow. “Kisei was a girlie, wasn’t she?”

Trying not to laugh, Yuri instead sighed. “Kisei can talk upon any form. And not that it matters, but Kisei resembled a human male when they attempted to…seduce me. Though…in truth, I was never ‘seduced’ as you put it, but that is a tale best kept for later.”

“Then tell me this. What’s so high and mighty about this mother-, well, you get the idea.”

“All too clearly…” Partial focus on mending her ailing ribs, she gave up on her dislocated/bleeding left arm, knowing it to be a current lost cause. Yuri thought on her words, explaining quietly. “Kisei…more a manipulative being, he/she uses any being they can get their hands on as resources. Everything is systematically planned out, special beings chosen wisely for certain parasites. They bring out the strongest quality in an individual, driving whatever they take over with sloth, gluttony, greed, lust, envy, pride or wrath.”

“The seven deadly sins…I like this…umm…question mark already. Here’s another question…why are they after you? Two, why are they still alive after all this time? Three, what would messenger stand under in the category?”

Another pained groan left her. Yuri shuddered miserably. “The first takes little thought if you think on messenger’s words. Kisei is alive because…I had no choice but to keep them so. Third, messenger was simply the messenger. Kisei has yet to be serious with me.”

“Huh, so getting f**ked up to within an inch of your life was toying around. Wow…and you let the motherf**ker go because?!?”

“It is complicated…and a story best left…” Yuri could no longer hold onto the sub reality, so weakened she had grown. “…to later.” Closing her eyes, she took a slow breath, spiraling further into darkness.

**abrupt ending, sorries, but its late on this side of the world. Not too sure where their heading hence the unconscious state of mind conversation….hmm…well…nothing else to say except…peace

This Day We Fight!

Orion scanned the dark hotel parking lot, eyes which had taken on a strange grey hue eventually resting upon a sleek black Merc, a small smile developing as he contemplated driving the upper class vehicle.

Shaking his head to banish such trivial thoughts, he crossed to the car, resting Yuri on the trunk as he used his left hand to smash in the rear, passengers side window. Quickley, unlocking the car, mildly surprised that no alarm sounded, he gently layed Yuri upon the back seat, cursing that he hadan't thought to bring a blanket to cover her form.

A loud click snapped Orions head around, his eyes narrowing at the businessman standing before him in a dishelved suit, silver revolver pointing in his direction as grey eyes regarded him with a mixture of anger and fear. Beside him stood a read headed woman in tight red leather.

"Step away from the vehicle," the man demanded, sounding more like a police officer than a businessman, voice strong and clear.

Orion closed the car door calmly, taking a step in the mans direction.

"Stop, or I'll shoot!"

Orion ignored the demand, continueing towards the gun toting businessman.

Crack!

The shot echoed through the grey stone parking lot, a small splattering of blood and flesh launching from Orion's right shoulder as the bullet hit home.

Brushing at the torn flesh and blood splatter as if were little more than dust, Orion raised a black brow at the businessman, continueing forwards.

"I would advise you against doing that aga-"

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The three bullets struck him; two in the neck, one in the right side of his chest, rivulets of blood streaming down his toned body, staining the tank top Yuri had given him.

Orion wasn't surprised to find his body in little pain. The body that he now soley owned had began to finally take on its full blood Vampire form.

Crack! Crack!

Continueing forwards at a deliberate pace, Orion shrugged off the two innacurate shots that battered his right arm, not surprised at how bad the man's shooting prowess was, considering how much his hands were shaking.

"Holy Mary, mother of mother f***ing Jesus!"

The businessman dropped the gun and turned, preparing to bolt, only to have the woman next to him catch his wrist and yank him back into place. "Stay," she instructed the wide eyed man as she sauntered up to Orion, placing a cigarette between her lips with delicate fingers.

"Well, well well...who is the stud before me?"

Orion frowned, quite aware that the woman before him was some sort of upper class, and obviously dominating, whore. With a snear, her grabbed her hair roughly, yanking her head back to expose the soft flesh of her neck, elongating his fangs clearly for the businessman to see beofre plunging home into the whores neck.

Drinking long and deep, the heavy metal vamp savoured the sweet euphoria that came with the feed, letting the electricity and adrenalin coarse through his entire being, strengthening him, awakening his full blooded self further.

Finally letting the now dead woman slip slowly to the ground, Orion focused directly on the businessman, eyes flashing gold, cerulean, emerald, violet, electric blue, before finally settling on a stone cold grey.

"I will let you live...providing you complete some tasks for me."

The man's features expressed confusion. "P-p-pardon?"

"I will let you live," Orion repeated, "providing you," he jabbed a finger in the mans chest, "complete some task for me," he finished, pointing to himself with his thumb."

The man opened his mouth to reply, but, when nothing came out, he snapped it shut again.

Orion chuckled, walking behind the man and placing his hand on his shoulders, leaning in close to the mans left ear. "Let me make what I want plain, eh? I am a Vampire, who will drink your lifeblood for the shear pleasure of it, unless you comlete a task. It is quite a simple task, even for a pathetic human as yourself. Simply, you must acquire for me some medical supplies."

"M-m-medical supplies?"

"Yes," Orion flicked the mans ear, chuckling as he shied away, "are you hard of hearing? I want medical supplies. You see, due to recent events, my female companion is far more human than even she knows, and no amount of her natural Vampire healing and no amout of meditation is going to heal those wounds completely. I need medical supplies to repair...to care for her," Orion amended.

"What if I refuse?" the man suddenly became defiant. "Death would be preferable to being your servant, I think."

Orion, now back in front of the man, grinned maliciously. "Oh, you think wrong, my friend. Death will be much, much worse. I will kill you so slowly, my friend, that you will be begging satan to whisk you away to hell, such will the pain I put you through be."

The man swallowed audibly as Orion raised a brow. "Well, what say you?"

After a time, the man sighed, running a hand through greying locks. "Fine...like I have a choice. I don't want to end up like her," he pointed to the whore on the ground.

"A wise man," Orion nodded, "who would go by the name of?"

"Tony," the man replied, quickly, wary of doing anything to annoy the creature before him. Tony Campbell."

Orion nodded. Nice to meet you, Tony. I am Orion Vagar, though you will adress me as, my Lord. Is that clear?'

Tony frowned, gritting his teeth. "Crystal," he bit out finally. Orion cleared his throat loudly and Tony sighed heavily. "Crystal, my Lord."

Orion flashed Tony a beaming smile. "Good man," he said cheerfully. "Now come, we have a long morning ahead of us."

(ooc: Dont know how much this will mean from me, but I pay attention to your storyline...I like to keep track of characters locations in a story. As for the second part...hmm...sorries if this is a little mean but to be honest...your story is passable. Perhaps it will enthrall me further on into the telling? I dunno, guess thats something only time will tell.

Anywho, here's a little something from me. Know the beginning might seem a little...off, but everything written has a point, ya know?)

The gentleman in the Armani suit laughed casually with the three women to his front, the trio dressed in revealing, yet tasteful gold dresses for the black-tie affair. Commenting on the wine for the evening, he held back a smarmy grin from the polite expressions each female held unable to hide the rapt fascination in their eyes, the want, the need for him.

Chandeliers casting their light on the splendid scene, rich marble, polished days earlier, glistened beneath the feet of many aristocratic men and women alike, ages ranging from mid-twenties to late sixties. Calm dancing swept the room, classical music filling the air, laughs of the pompous great occasionally rising up on the ground floor of the mansion turned ballroom.

Stroking the cheek of a brown haired woman to his side, the man in the expensive Armani suit smiled warmly at her blush, already able to imagine the room he could bring her up to, the things he would do to her. Resting his hand on her shoulder, the blue eyed woman lowered her gaze, skin heating up from his touch.

How perfect… He kissed her hand engagingly, disregarding the sparkling rock on her finger. Her pale complexion flushed brilliantly, the women around her hiding waves of jealousy under small giggles of encouragement. The night, after all, was still young.

As the host for the party, his home serving to be the setting, he knew his attention should have been to all his guests, wealthy and annoying alike. However, he no longer cared with following the good hostess rules, his heart setting on f**king the young lady before him. He shrugged at the thought. He couldn’t help his nymphomaniac ways, and he no longer bothered fighting them. Any woman he lusted, he’d find a way to make them his…whether they wanted to be or not.

He leaned down, whispering brazenly in her ear. Her blush deepened magnificently, blue eyes excited and scared at his suggestion. She seemed hesitant, eyes glancing to the ring from the fiancé not around. Pulling her close, he whispered closer into her ear. Pressed against his chest, he felt her heart skip a beat, the woman losing all sense of speech.

After a long minute, the woman nodded slowly, the man squeezing her closer. Preparing to lead her up the stairs, his gaze shifted sideways to the butler in the swallowtail coat bounding his way. Stopping out of breath in front of the Armani clad man, he pulled him aside to deliver a message, his smile faltering sufficiently.

Sighing, he sulked heavily. Rolling his eyes in frustration, he sauntered back up to the woman, planting a kiss on her forehead. He gave his apologies for the interruption, figuring he’d have his way with her later. Under normal circumstances, not much was able to pull him from a good time…but these circumstances were less than normal.

Calmly walking to a back room, he closed the door tightly, counting quietly as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. The air cooler than usual, he began his descent down an out-of-place, earthen flight of stairs, the flickering of torches casting a fiery light into his eyes.

A cool wind howling beneath the rich manor, the gentleman continued down a straightforward path, a glowing half foot figure flickering quietly by his side. Looking to be out of a fairytale, her wings were paper thin, blue veins visible in each delicate abnormality. She bowed her head, speaking lowly. “I did not mean to pull you from your social affair, but an urgent matter calls to your attention. Your time has come.”

Still bothered over the interruption, the scowl had yet to leave his face. Skimming hands through his hair, he said sarcastically, “I should be so flattered.” Growing serious, a pale emerald eye glanced to the lithe fairy beside him. “This had better be a matter of importance why I have been called.”

“But it is…” Rounding the last corner of the winding tunnel, she glared coldly. “Everything is a matter of importance and must be calculated perfectly. It is in regards to the female.”

He sucked his teeth thoughtfully, a slow smile appearing. “The female? You mean the woman I was told of? The one I’ve been-”

“Poisoning?”

The man frowned. “In all actuality, I was aiming more towards, ‘manipulating from the shadows’. But that will do just fine…what of her? Did you kidnap her?”

“…no.” said the fairy, again, coolly. Rubbing at surprisingly sharp teeth, her eyes gave off a hint of malice, she not as innocent as originally given off. Leading the way into the new room, she motioned a slender arm towards a smoky crystal ball. “We have finally managed to get a visual on her. You should be able to track her whereabouts, predict her next move, commence phase one.”

“Oh…?” He ignored the scarier contraptions making up the former torture chamber, eyes lingering from the fairy to the basketball sized crystal ball. The smoke cleared up, a sleeping, worn woman revealed. He arched a brow, all thoughts of the brown haired woman leaving his mind at the new figure.

Tracing a finger along the outline of the tan woman, his lips parted in a low whisper, brushing across the cold glass ball. Tapping the woman’s forehead, he raised his chin at a restless turn in her sleep, the smallest of shivers leaving her form.

The fairy watched in quiet observation, craning her neck to get a better look of the gentleman. He looked excited, a hungry look in his eyes, fingers still trailing along the outline of the oblivious woman. Curiosity overcame her, creepy grey eyes questioning. “What are your thoughts of her?”

Hand moving from her waist to the area just below, his fingers broke through the surface of the crystal ball, dipping into the image. The woman automatically arched her chest upwards from the invisible touch, a pleasured torture covering her face. The gentleman smiled broadly, removing his fingers from the ball. Cocking his head, he whispered. “She seems…delicious.”

“Orion…!” As soon as the name left her lips, more of a shout than a cry, Yuri bolted from her sleep, breathing heavily from her dream. Her good hand snapped up over her heart, face and body drenched heavily in sweat despite the winter weather, pulse refusing to slow as an aftereffect.

Hazel eyes wandering to the skies, senses on her surroundings, she made note of the dying storm, the ominous grey clouds giving way to a thick blanket of white, the smallest of flurries entering into view. Gulping, unsure of her surroundings, she grimaced at the playboy shirt no longer on, white bandages wrapped firmly about her chest. Bra in play, she shrugged, footsteps behind her causing an arched brow.

Orion flew from the shadows to her side, looking her over briefly. He commented once sure of her status. “You bellowed?”

“I…” Yuri blushed, glancing aside. “I…no. Well, yes, I did,” She looked back into his eyes. “But it was nothing of importance. I thought I heard something…”

A moan perhaps…? Supplied the teen deviously.

Ignoring Simone’s input, Yuri massaged her temple, exhaling heavily. “I need a little more sleep is all. Though…where exactly are we?” He started to speak, Yuri cutting him off with a low hiss to the greying newcomer in the room. The already shaking man gulped, a bead of sweat painting his brow as Yuri sat up, claws sharpening. Moving to feed on the man, an arm across her chest cut her off.

Resting a hand on her shoulder, Orion spoke quietly into her ear. “Relax. He is not to be harmed as of yet,” Despite his words, she started to squirm from his grasp, warm grip growing threatening. She gave him a dangerous stare, inquiry in his eyes. “What did you think you heard?”

Sitting up, again, she shifted from his hold. Averting her gaze to her lap, she mumbled. “As I said earlier, it was nothing. A mere product of my imagination…” She sighed, burying her hands into her lap. She instantly regretted the move, cringing in pain from her throbbing left arm.

Massaging the bandaged wounds inflicted hours earlier, Yuri glanced up to Orion wearily. “I will let your guest of sorts be. Regardless, I intended to go on a hunt for a victim tomorrow. I believe by then I will have regained some of my strength. Funny how my recovery is taking so long…strange even,” Her brow twitched in agitation, the vampiress in need of a proper explanation.

Orion’s eyes wandered to the shaking business man, sapphire eyes sparkling in dismissal. Nodding his head nervously, he dropped a few medical supplies to the ground, hastily retreating from the room. He waited until sure the man had left the proximity before addressing the vampiress, unaware of the change of color to her eyes. “It has to do with-”

Placing a finger to his lips, Yuri stopped his explanation, cheeks…body heating up. Swallowing hard, she shook her head. “I do not care,” He looked confused, wary, Yuri’s hand sliding from his mouth to his face. “It is insignificant, it no longer matters.”

Before he could respond, Yuri lunged, mashing their lips together. The few inhibitions left in her being vanished completely, a sudden carnal hunger taking her over. She’d almost been killed three times, had experienced enough emotions to last her a lifetime, and was in need for one more thing to complete her vampire/human experience. Satisfaction.

Pushing him to his back, savoring the taste of his lips, she kissed on the surprised vampire’s face, face flushed, body feverish. Good hand holding his shoulder, pain and weaknesses slipping away, her fangs slowly elongated. Orion chuckled lightly beneath her, gently moving to push her off his form. “And here I thought you wanted to only be-”

Nibbling delicately to the healing bite marks in his neck, he immediately broke off from his sarcasm, a smile decorating her lips. She continued her light teasing, speaking between breaths. “We can be friends with benefits, what the hell? I’m more than willing to give into my emotions…just once…maybe twice. I need to taste you, I want to f**k you. I need to, I have to…” She said no more, hands crawling beneath his shirt, paying no attention to the circular incisions in his chest, vaguely catching his voice in her ear.

Two hands clasping her cheeks snapped her from the brisk enchantment, golden eyes morphing to a bright hazel, Orion shouting for attention. “Yuri!” He searched her face in incredulity, frowning at the heat pouring from her cheeks. Moving the back of his hand to beneath her neck, his frown grew more pronounced.

Sitting up from the heavy metal vamp, Yuri ran her nails through her hair, embarrassed. “I…I do not know where that came from. Think my fever is driving me into delirium,” Backing up, she forced a sheepish smile, mortified over her earlier words. She stared with a sudden interest to her nails, coolly changing the subject. “Though…I have to admit, I did like the trace fear I installed in you.”

Both brows shot up, Orion blinking skeptically. He narrowed his eyes, attitude creeping into his tone. “Excuse me?”

Heartbeat calming, she glanced out the corner of her eyes. “Don’t give me that. When I jumped on you, you had-”

“I was startled.” Interrupted Orion flatly. “You would have been to…”

“I doubt that…” Yuri stroked her chin, giving a taunting smile. “Best scare I’ve given in awhile.”

“I could do better-”

“I would like to see you try,” dared Yuri, grinning haughtily. Her smile wavered at another strange urge, she suppressing it with everything she had. Leaning back, she closed her eyes, breathing out heavily. “What a night…”
