there is no way tracy mcgrady is better than lebron james, ESPECIALLY with the season he had. he had a great game in the all star game when everyone was watching but the announcers ruined it for em, when they reminded houston by saying..." houston fans right now are saying, tracy why aren't you doing this in regular season games??? what was he...3-20fg against the knicks, and 4-15fg against orlando." lol. and the west were really trying to get tracy that mvp trophy. anyways, what i was trying to say is in an overall rating....lebron james is still a better player than tracy mcgrady. tracy may have a better or more consistent jumpshot than lebron but thats not all that matters...lebron is stronger, quicker, faster, and has more ups than t-mac ( athleticism-lebron) and as for the all around game, lebron is a better passer, rebounder, and just as good as scorer as t-mac..as he has shown with the many double double, triple double, and near triple double performances he has had this season. to be honest, i really do think that lebron tries really hard to get his when it comes to the stat sheet. ( all around skill level- lebron).

Ball hog? LeBron? He gets criticism for passing TOO much.

ok maybe hes not a ball hog but he definately does not pass too much because he draws so much attention, which leaves his teammates wide open. so he passes enough, well leave it at that.

no...you got donyell marshall who is a deadly long range shooter along with larry hughes, and dont forget big Z who is a pretty good shooter himself. oh yeah and damon jones who shined in miami acuple years ago is great shooter too. so i'd say hes got a lot of options besides snow.

i think you have to remember larry hughes was hurt for a long while of the season, and when he came back they played better with flip instead of hughes. donyells a decent shooter, but hes not that great at shooting. and because hes known as an outside shooter defences know whats going to happen. damon jones didnt have a great year did he? not sure if that was due to his ability or lack of playing time.

first off, damon jones didnt get any playing time for the cavs, espescially in the playoffs. i remember one time in the first round against the wizards he only played the final minute, no final 15 seconds, and buried the game winner to move on to the next round. but he was a starter for the heat, and shined, once scoring a career high 31 points. not bad. secondly, flip is gone now, and larry played bad back then because his brother died and he was still hurt emotionally, but now i think hes ok. as for donyell, acourse hes a brilliant shooter. that's how he makes a living in the NBA: shooting! he stretches defenses with his range and hes a lean big man. he valuable, and that's why the cavs signed him: for LeBron to have another solid teammate to pass to whens hes in trouble.

I like Donyell as a Cav. As you said, he stretches defense because he is known as a shooter. His problem however is movement. He lacks the ability to make himself open for 3s. I think that is a major reason why he still comes off the bench for the Vacs.

As for Damon Jones, by the end of the year he wasn't getting much playing time because he did very poorly earlier in the year. He started the season bricking all of his open 3s making him useless to the Cavs. It was so bad that Damon's buddy Shaq called him on the phone and said something along the lines of: "What gives? You are playing like the worst player in the league."

Btw, welcome rec. Its always nice to get new people in here to discuss NBA. Especially since its been a slow offseason.

yeah, but damon needed some time to mesh with his new teammates, and his coach didnt give him a chance to do so. and donyell, the only time he needs to move is during the set offense. nobody expects him to do a perfect "v" cut or sprint around in circles like rip hamilton. all donyell needs to do is go through the motion and stay at a spot. yes, lebron draws that much attention, that he'll be open almost every time. its a matter of lebron being disciplined and focused enough to make the split-second pass at the right time, which i know hes capable of doing, and not try to make the #1 play on Sportscenter everytime.

I think what Bron really needs is a PF or center that can finish in traffic, someone like Willcox who would get loads of dunks running the pick and roll. Having spot up shooters in nice but its still a lower percentage shot.

I know i said i wouldnt(back in May) but im back posting in this thread..I tried not too.

Vince Carter takes way too many 3's, well he probaly knows 2k sports gave him a 88 rating on the game and decided to go for the 90(only Joe Johnson got a 90).

Well seeing how that's probaly not the reason im not going to go too far into that, but he does take too many 3's.

He has the ability to go to basket, so he needs to cut down on the 3's and start driving a bit more. He needs to stay in New Jersey with Jason Kidd but for team to be successful they need more than Kristic, but that's for another discussion.

As for Tmac, he's right where he needs to be. Hes the total package and lately hes been stepping up as the team leader. I remember the first year he joined the Rockets they asked a player on the team who was the vocal leader and he was like Jim Jackson, I was like what the hell??? Well that has changed because players are coming out and saying it's Tmac. Good for him because he was definitely lacking that in Orlando. IMO hes better then D Wade and another guy im not even going to mention because last time it started a riot. I love how he just strolls up court and pops 3's like its nothing with that tmac lean. 2 scoring titles, probaly wont win another, well maybe if Kobe has a stroke( no no no ). I see him leading the Rockets back to the playoffs this upcoming season, maybe even an MVP candidate.

lol Tmac > Carter and the other guy whos name I will not speak

you can always find a way to mention kobe, cant you wink

vince took too many bad 3's last year, but in the 2nd half of the 04-05 season, his percentage was pretty good.
