Question okay...help please!

i recently downloaded a video on my computer from the internet.It plays but i can only hear the sound no pictures!!!!!Quicktime says that my copmuter cannot play the AVI. type of videos.i have no idea what this shit is about!!!!!!!!!please tell what this whole thing is!!!!!
