Well, you use the line "Better tech...If you say so..." with a reply of Human Smoke's post poking fun at what ST tech looks like as if for support. But those are non-action pictures and show nothing about what they can do.
It just shows that those pieces of technology can have their picture taken and thus isn't vampire technology.

Star Trek has phasers. Kind of lame, they don't seem like they could hurt you, even though they can disintigrate things. In Wars they have REAL weapons. As far as I know, an E-11 doesn't have disintigration power, but it looks so much better.
For that reason, and that reason only Star Wars wins.

I consider it far better than what seems to alternative consensus of what a battle between the two should look like; Throwing both universes at each other with no strategy or creativity, with the intent of both sides just holding down their gun triggers and "slowly walking forward".
This isn't that episode of the Simpsons when Bart and Homer keep ramming into each other with pots on their head.
My love of its cheapness was boosted by an Authority comic I read not too long ago. I don't know if I should describe it because of what the villian actually does but it was quite a cruel and effective use of the powers.

Consider the Movies had a much higher budget than the TV show.
Still :
1977 - Star Wars - it looked real, awesome. Completely and utterly.
1978 - Star Trek : The Motion Picture - Looks like a screensaver.
Wars has way better movies also. No debating that. Some of those episodes of TNG kick the holy hell out of most of the Wars movies.
