Well actually nearly all the storyline can be completed solo according to the site. This is the approach that I was hoping I they would take, and thats why this game may differ from other MMOs.
I went to the official website. And the game developers have ripped off everything from the movies.
- "Sith Empire" = Galactic Empire. Most powerful in history? LOL.
- "Sith Emperor" = Galactic Emperor. Yeah, it's pretty pathetic how they mimicked Palpatine right down to the blue hologram of a hooded, cloaked man.
- "Special Forces Troopers" = Stormtroopers, Clonetroopers, ect. Helmets are identical.
- Insignia of the Republic/Jedi Order is the Marek family crest that would later be used for the Alliance.
- Insignia of the Sith is the Imperial crest.
- Dark Council = the Imperial Interim Ruling Council and Palpatine's advisors.
This, with LotF and Legacy turns me off. Though I'll probably play the MMORPG, just because I'm a *****.
But seriously, folks, why rehash it? Lucas and the movies do it better. Period. The end.
But it actually seems like a decent game. I think just the fact that they are trying to expand to a WoW-type market is why we are so against it. That and we don't know what the hell happened the the exile and Revan and why the blew so much and made the first 2 games completely...useless.
To be honest it looks to me they got lazy and just wanted a get out clause of having to do something perhaps a bit difficult by continuing the revan and exile storyline.
In regards to your comments about what they could do remember Revan was referred to as like the "heart of the force" suggesting immense power and the exile formed force bonds with force sensitives greatly influencing them...And lets face it Jedi and Sith are the same bar different ideology they are all force users and its basically a inter-religious war of conversion the whole thing, and a guy that force bonds and influences would be the best recruiter out there, The exile!
Seems to me especially with revans dark lord past and his master tactician abilities. Him and the exile could have at first, a nice wee guerilla war followed by eventually conversion of the old sith empire's very own ranks. Hey presto one pre-made army!
I went away and thought about the whole thing due to some comments here and reading up on it on the website, The more I tossed it around the more I thought that its just gonna be a wow clone and milking of the francise and hoping to overtake wow.....Which most likely result in a complete bastardizing of KOTOR.

He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says "Why so serious?" Comes at me with the knife,"Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Let’s put a smile on that face!" And... Why so serious?"
No Ush! not again! Why do you always gotta be a Negative Nancy? =D.
But on tOR, I'm thinking it'd not be bad. As long as it isn't a WoW replica, it should be fun for all of us. Hell, Fallout 3 looks like it would have been a sick MMO but its only an straight up RPG. If tOR could kind of make it Fallout-ish then I think it'd make a fantastic MMO. Just my 2 cents.

I just don't want to have to pay off my entire life savings on tOR. I think it should be a single player game.
When I went to the site, i thought it was really retarded that there is a "emperor"
I'm also not too sure that it won't be another galaxies failure again...
The new emperor bothers me too, I usually refer to Super Sith Sidious by the name of Emperor and now I can't do that anymore because it can be confused with this other ancient sith (Sadow?)

hopefully they make a seperate KOTOR III singleplayer game (not tOR MMORPG) to finish Revan and the Exile's story, and somehow some of the sith survive and become powerful again which carries on to the tOR plot
