I realize that and while I don't know I'd imagine it's similar elsewhere. I was only asking because if you worked for the government you'd have healthcare.
And you people are right the system is not by any means perfect. If tlbauerle is out of work he should have some state healthcare or something. My only point is that if he did live in Canada and he ended up with some disease chances are he'd have to wait a LONG time to be treated.
By my experience when someone is sick they're in the hospital and being treated within a few weeks, unles it is something un-important in which case it would require a wait.

Until the US starts hunting down and killing every Muslim on the face of the earth I'd say it's pretty different. I'd also say that Palps has MUCH more power granted him than Bush does. Furthermore, the Patriot Act grants power to the government, not to one man, as did the powers granted to Palpatine.
the government that the president runs. yeah, good analysis. Look, art is always simplified versions, the real world is more complex. In our world, its not every muslim, its just everyone who disagrees with us.

If that were so France would be a parking lot and it's not. Kerry would be dead, he's fine. Furthermore, last time I checked Bush is out of office in 2008, Palpatine won't be.
kerry would be dead? I don't think so, the Sith didn't kill Bail, they just took over the masses and got them to a point where they wouldn't question because they were to busy celebrating their hollow victory in the clone wars. yeah, that doesn't sound like the U.S..
And France would not be a parking lot you arrogant american tool.

Bush's policy is to take on everyone who attacks us, not disagrees. By my count we're involved in Afghanistan, where most of Al Qaeda was in 2001, Iraq, which has FAR more connections to Al Qaeda than most people know (the 9/11 report actually said that Saddam Hussein had a lot of dealings/alliance-type relationships with Al Qaeda, but most people got the opposite idea because the networks chose their words VERY carefully. Actually read the wording of the report and you get the correct picture). I don't see us invading France or Canada or Germany or anywhere else that simply disagrees. Heck, the Pope said the war was wrong. Did we bomb the Vatican?

I never said France SHOULD be a parking lot. Nor did I intend it to say we are all-powerful and capable of decimating any country we choose at our whim. It was hyperbole.

I don't blindly support them I could name you several places where I am very much opposed. The death penalty (not a huge issue but still), Illegal immigrants...
Wrong, I read the 9/11 report. Its said Saddam Huessein had no involvement in 9/11 at all. We only went after him because they can't find Osama. He's traded weapons with them. And we've traded weapons with Saddam, so that logic leads nowhere. And more network bashing, which I guess my copy was missing that page because it was a look at our governemnt, not the media. I don't remember reading that anywhere. Did you READ it yourself? Or is this from one of your web sites?
Iraq did not have anything to do with 9/11....I just spoke to one of my best friends today that just got back from Iraq and he said the predominant view the military has is that the war is for oil. Period.
From Bush's own mouth he isn't even looking for Osama bin Laden.

I didn't read the entire thing no but I did read specific sections. If you'd read it you'd know that it said Saddam Hussein had no direct involvement with the specific events of 9/11, but that he was heavily involved with Al Qaeda in general.
And what's going on in America looks like the first two movies of the PT. The Bush administration has created an air of fear, and the idea that you can't critique the gov. without being called unpatriotic. That sounds like the Chancellor during the clone wars. So you're right, not every detail of the PT should relate to the real world....that's why its called similar and not exact. The basic seeds of a dictatorship are present in the US right now, whether they grow into fruition like in ROTS remains to be seen. Probably not, but the seeds are there none the less. A blindly patriotic majority, a war entered into for bs reasons, an air of fear and hatred of those not like us...those are the similarites and they are obivous to anyone whose studied history.
