Oh, so you're still clinging to a win in the Champions League, against a Milan notorious for throwing leads away?
Shame. Because I believe Liverpool finished 5th in the league that year, and where are they now? So if there's no luck, then it's just true that Liverpool are shit.
Dense? I never labelled Liverpool as a league winner.
ok, so what exactly did man utd do in the Tottenham game to deserve luck? they were awful, they hacked for the entire game, created very little and had the benefit of some very dubious decisions... Evra's handball, the fact Hargreaves wasn't sent off...
If anything, Tottenham did enough to earn that little bit of luck.

"Luck doesn't exist, you have to earn it.". It either exists or it doesn't, you know what I mean?
I don't believe there is such a thing as luck, just more fortuitous circumstances than others, and bad decisions. Tottenham beating Arsenal 5-1 was not luck, they simply outplayed Arsenal. By that same card, Arsenal did have a team out that made that outcome more possible for Tottenham, but it wasn't luck.
Liverpool won the Champions League from 3-0 down, yeah, good work. Let's also not forget, though, that Milan were notorious for throwing leads away, and Liverpool scrapped back to actually win on penalties.
Sorry, it's still weird to see people praising Tottenhams defending... it'll take some getting used to.
Ramos seems to be a brilliant defensive coach, hopefully some other managers notice how well we shut them out and apply the same tactics. Woodgate is looking to be worth every (7x10^8) penny so far. Ramos has effectively said that King will never play regularly again, absolutely gutted though, I firmly beleive a 100% fit King is one of the best centrebacks in England.

I think the elite group is the Man Utd and Arsenal pairing, plus Carvalho.
Then very close behind you've got Laursen, King, Lescott, Terry, Man City's pair, and Woodgate when on form. Distin too, maybe. Loathe to name Carragher. I guess he can be, but he has (bin)dipped like hell lately.

Toure is one of the best in the premiership, but I would take King ahead of Gallas personally. Arsenal's first choice centrebacks are tough to beat as a team though.
Ferdinand and Vidic, they're both great, but I wouldnt necessarilly put both of them in the top 5, but as a pair theyre probably the 2nd best in the premiership (if that makes sense). I still rate Terry even though he hasnt shown his best form for a while, injury hasnt helped.
My top 5 centrebacks in the EPL would go like this (bear in mind its 5am);
- Carvalho
- Toure
- King
- Carragher
- Terry
England is very strong in the centreback position, Woodgate, Ferdinand, King, Terry, Richards, Carragher etc, all solid, I dont think many (if any) country can boast that strength in depth for the centreback position.
