Is it just me or is the PL turning into a 3 tier league. With Chelsea in a league of their own followed by the likes of Man United, Arsenal and a couple of other top class teams. and the last tier are the wipping boys for those above them, and fight amongst themsleves to try and not get relegated?
Not for me. I don't think Turner would seriously be kicking it that lightly in relation to where Mignolet was at the time so for people to say he 'took' the free kick is ridiculous. Otherwise it could set a precedent, other teams will latch on to a misconception like that and by the time anyone can question it a goal will be scored and the referee will be powerless.
There have been loads of incidents where the balls been tapped back for someone else to take and the opposing team usually respects their intention but Torres was completely unprofessional and the fact he left it for Kuyt to finish indicated to me he knew how much criticism he would have got had he scored himself.
Even throw-ins for example; when a player throws it down for someone else to take it the ball sometimes 'enters' the field of play but its not deemed a foul throw and the throw in is then taken.
Ive actually wondered why teams havnīt used some sort of confusion to take advantage of this yet, throw to him, who throws it to the next players who then takes the throw in
But then you would have a time-wasting issue which would get you yellow carded if the referee deemed you were messing around.
Its quite common in football to also 'gain a few yards' even before the kick is taken. The player will spot the ball then 'spin it forwards' a few yards with his hands before taking it. Its a minor advantage of course and all teams do it but essentially you could argue he's just taken the free kick with his hands, then had another go with his foot! .
One other slant is lets say Turner chipped the ball at Mignolet who's coming forwards out of his box. Mignolet catches the ball in readiness to put the ball down and take the free-kick. Would the free-kick be then deemed as taken? If so Mignolet would have to be sent off as per the rules of the game.
there seems to be a lot of grey areas in the sport when you think about it. Liverpools first goal could be given if the ref thinks that play made a mistake of passing the ball to weekly towards the keeper, or as not been taken because he was obviously leaving it with a tap for the keeper to take.
Itīs a question of perception.
Mind you, the referee wasnīt even looking when it was "taken", as shown in action replays, so who knows what he was thinking.
And here is yet another mistake by that goalkeeper, Khalid Askri. Only this time, it ends in a total meltdown.
The miscommunication between his defenders and himself caused him to let the ball go through. This totally ate him up, as he decided that the best way to shadow himself from the humliation is by marching his way off the pitch before the restart. That's right, he takes off his jersey, keeper gloves, and proceeds to run for the dressing rooms while signaling to the fans "Sorry, but enough is enough!". And I think his teammates laughed at his meltdown. His reason for leaving the pitch? humliation? He is fed up with his defense? He thinks it was foul but the ref didn't give it to them? ( )
And there he goes running...And I think the manager is bewlidered. I can't even imagine how the sub keeper is like.

He overreacted a bit eh, everyone makes mistakes just when the keeper does it itīs normally a goal, and Ive seen worse.
Thatīs one of the key things of being a keeper, you have to learn at a young age that if you concede a goal, no matter whoīs fault it is. Pick yourself up, clear you mind and get on with it. This is a rare ability thatīs why there are so few really good keepers.
The fact that Liverpools goal is debatable makes me shake my head.
The problems we're facing this season just continue to build up with every single match. The quality I've seen in the past has left but It's not necessarily just the players part (though in some cases it is due to lack of morale/spirit)
We're in TURMOIL right now in terms of the club as a whole, everything honestly seems to be falling apart.
I was hoping the Premiership this season for Liverpool would be to re-qualify for a Champions League slot but now it's almost like a fight to not get relegated...
YNWA.

We just need to buckle down and get a couple of wins on the trot, the league is tight right now any team that strings together some wins over the next month will shoot up the league. Also, Liverpool have got a lot of big games out of the way already even at this stage of the season. I'm not panicking just yet.

At home!!! it aint looking good, thereīs some serious rot growing at the club. I just home they give Hodgson a decent chance to build a team and donīt ksack him on a knee jerk reaction.
What do you lot think of Alexīs goal, WOW!! See that ball bend, reminds me of Roberto Carlosīs classic goal against France.
We have new owners! A couple of months late if you ask me. I'm still sceptical about what the new owners can do and if they can deliver on their promises, but at least we've got rid of Laurel & Hardy! YNWA.
