Spiderman was ALWAYS a ten-ton lifter.
Hulk ALWAYS had potentially limitless strength.
Wolverine DID NOT always take the punishment he does now.
Marvel kept writing him more and more powerful the more
popular he became, and the more fanboys mailed marvel about it.
This is not a hard concept to grasp.
When Marvel introduced Spiderman in 1962, they clearly stated
that the only other Marvel heroes who were stronger than him
then were Thor, Hulk, and Thing. When he started he was
most definitely at or close to the 10-ton mark.
In the original Marvel Universe Handbook in 1983,
it clearly stated that Wolverine could lift over 500 pounds.
Now they say he can lift 800 pounds.
The fanboys argue that he can lift 1 or 2 tons.
Now Wolverine gets knocked across the room by Daredevil in one book,
then takes 2 from Namor without falling in another book, same month.
Is this how you want them to write your favorite character?
Is this what you call consistency?
Get the picture?
I already said that Wolverine has two different powerlevels (in this tread even) one for fighting high level bricks and one for fighting street level heroes. Is powerlevel isn't all over the place... it is in one of two places

well there SHOULDN'T be 2 wolverines.
there is only ONE wolverine.
and he should be portrayed consistantly!
and that......is the problem with marvel comics.
Key sequence: Warren Worthington, Scott Summers, Jean Grey Summers
“Since the loss of his adamantium, Wolverine has become both more and less of a threat. He is divested of his unbreakable skeleton - but his senses and his mutant healing factor have been increased to incredible levels. What would have been a lethal wound to Wolverine three years ago would now be a momentary annoyance. Any assault on Wolverine, in the event of his sanity breaking, would have to be long-range and decisive. His head would have to be severed, and removed utterly from the vicinity of his body to prevent swift flesh and nerve regrowth.“
i think they meant before he got his adamantium back. i think now his healing factor isnt this strong

Different wavelengths of radiation maybe? Different genotypes coupled with the same X gene could produce near limitless possibilities. Inconsistency is present, but consistency is not totally absent.
The fantastic four were hit by the same patch of radiation. . .
There could probably be a range as to what it could produce but nothing as wild as everything from Magnetic control to telepathy to super strength . . etc. . .
