For example.
Let's say you're in college and you want to take a course.
And let's say the course has prerequisites that you must take in order to take the course.
This means that there are certain classes you must take before you can take the class you want to take.
Those classes are prerequisites to the class that you want to take b/c you must take them before you can take your desired class.
