Yes, but the accounts of visitations, etc. are considerably more recent than 4000 years. So there is more recent evidence than Moses for example.
I never said proof. What I said is evidence. Eye-witness testimony is considered evidence. What people have to then decide is how reliable the witnesses are.
PS Several magazines have done stories about it. An CNN does do religious stories from time to time.
Eye witness testimony is considered the WORST evidence, especially when the recording party has a bias or possible agenda and interpreting that account.
nah, the worst evidence would be rumor. That would still be evidence but without anything or anyone to hang it on.
But regardless of whether it's good or bad evidence, evidence it is.
Oh, and in regards to the bias/agenda thing. While I agree that they were after something, I doubt it was for themselves as many of the original "witnesses" died because of their testimony.
that's the dumbest thing I've read all day. Evidence is either physical matter or recorded data that can be researched or tested. If the research and testing proves it to be true.....it is labeled fact, or proof.

As for your schizo friend. I already made the disclaimer that you have to weigh the reliability of the witness. A person with a known mental disorder would of course have some credibility issues.

1. there is no other kind of proof than scientific proof. Proof means something has been proven fact. There is no other way known to humans at this time to attain facts other than the scientific method.
2. Legal? this has nothing to do with anything in this discussion. Legal systems deal with opinions......opinions of a judge or opinions of a jury. An opinion by very definiton is not a fact and only exists in a person's mind. Are you now saying that god is not a fact and exists soly in your mind? It's also noteworthy that opinions have nothing to do with evidence, it's purely an individual's preference. My opinion is that eggs are better than sausage. No evidence, just my personal preference.......that exists soly in my mind......as it appears you are now claiming your god does.
3. what about a case study has anything to do with anything in this thread? case studies are merely the study of documentation in attempt to come to a hypothesis.........what does any of this have to do with anything that has been brought up in the 500+ posts in this thread?
