all powerful enough to defeat the all powerful making him/her even more than all powerful. however, if he cannot lift a rock so heavy even the Omega can not lift it, then that makes him even more powerful....

Let's break this argument down to the most basic level so you can wrap your mind around it:
1- God is omnipotent according to this argument.
2- God makes a rock so heavy he can't lift it.
3- But at the same time, he would not be omnipotent if he couldn't lift it, therefore he must be able to lift it.
4- However, if he can lift it, than it's not so heavy that he can't, therefore, he's not omnipotent.
5- Therefore, if God were to demonstrate one power that is absolute and turn around and try and overcome that power, he cannot without rendering the first power not absolute. That is, if he makes a rock so heavy he can't lift it and then lifts it, the nature of the rock really is that he can lift it, which means he failed in making a rock too heavy for him to lift. However, if he made the rock and he couldn't lift it, then he'd fail at being able to lift the rock anyways. He'd fail at being able to do ANYTHING. Hence, God cannot be omnipotent.
ummmm thanks for the help. but if god is supposedly all poweful than he can do anything right? but if he can create a rock so heavy even he cannot lift it, he cannot be omni potent. BUT because he IS omni potent, he must be omni potent to create something so heavy even someone who is omni potent can not lift.

OK Ed. Let's try this again (although you're completely wrong about the legal system, it involves opinion yes, but also fact - as in findings of fact)
The Scientific Method
1. Observation and description of a phenomenon or group of phenomena.
- Certain people claim to have seen God, angels, divine phenomena, etc.
2. Formulation of an hypothesis to explain the phenomena.
- Hypothesis: God exists
3. Use of the hypothesis to predict the existence of other phenomena, or to predict quantitatively the results of new observations.
- If God exists there should be miracles, answered prayers, etc.
4. Performance of experimental tests of the predictions by several independent experimenters and properly performed experiments.
- Pray, see if God answers. Follow the commandments in the scriptures see if your life doesn't improve - perhaps even miraculously. Remember to watch the variables, ie faith, hope, charity and their opposites.
So, we have a hypothesis based on observations. We have repeatable tests. I have proof (I've seen the results of said experiment). Now go find your own.

Oh, well I don't want to get more specific....it's my opinion of some people on here, I don't want say names or anything, debbie....I mean some people might take it wrong, debbie. Don't you think, debbie?
But can I prove it, I suppose I could pull find some of the more stupid posts of the posters, debbie. It doesn't really prove it but it could create a very realistic image...
