yep, it seems that he did that in mind. you know, I know this may sound kinda odd, but Masaki and Orihime are really similar. for one thing, as you pointed out marwash22, the two are physically similar and personality wise too, though Masaki lacks the overactive imagination Orhimme had going on. maybe Kubo is trying to troll the Ichigo/Orihime fans this way since he knows they might make this connection?

I'm getting the feeling Orihime is actually Ichigo's sister. Her parents who died were probably her adoptive parents and Isshin gave her to them in order to protect her from his enemies. If this is the case, IchiRuki fans can finally rejoice.
But she is apparently so super powerful a quincy despite not really taking her training seriously and being like 17-18 at the time, she is super intelligent and can see through any lie, BUT IS SUCH A VIRTUOUS AND PERFECT SOUL THAT SHE INSTANTLY FORGIVES YOU FOR THE LIE.
My wife is similar to my mother in many ways. But in many ways, she is very dissimilar. So, I hold that the myth is partially true in my anecdotal experience.
At least, that is the context I took from it. She is really smart and so is Ichigo. Should be a no brainer. Orihime is supposedly more book smart, however...she had higher grades than Ichigo at the beginning of the manga.
And the too-serious Quincy had the highest grades.
She really isn't all that amazing as a Quincy. Her bow is pitiful compared to every other Quincy bow. The only thing that distinguished her was using it one handed like a bawss.
