Well, first off, if the lightsabers used in the movies used heat, even theoretically there would be things on melted left and right. For one thing, the properties of light-energy and a blowtorch are radically different. A blow torch isn't gonna reach from here to the Sun in nine minutes or so. A blow torch doesn't have the apparent solid feel of the lightsaber blade. A blow torch also apparently has a blue flame on it, as shown in your pictures. This A) doesn't operate on the same principles as a lightsaber, as shown in the movie and shown also in scientific (Read: not made in your basement) type experiments to replicate the very same weapon, B) doesn't have any practical use, and C) should be marketed to morons and fools.
You got bad feedback on this thread because you're the third or fourth person this month coming in here saying "omfg l00k! It's a lightzabur!" and then showing us a deliberate fake or something so far off base the thread title and indeed, your title is misleading. The only reason you came here to show this off is either you're trying to peddle it (In which case you are slime) or you're seriously some twelve year old kid. Any adult who even thought he had a real lightsaber would run off and patent it and then collaborate with an agent to begin marketing the product. Making a thread in a Star Wars Expanded Universe and Literature forum means you're probably trying to pull a fast one, and you should be banned and this topic closed.

When I said it was a real lightsaber, I thought about it and said to myself, perhaps I should have called it something else, like a dagger etc. Or not even compared it to a lightsaber.
But I have since considered what I made and it is actually a light dagger. For a light dagger is just that, a dagger made out of light. This light does burn so its blade does not cut like a knife, but neither does a lightsaber use a metal blade for cutting. To those who got all hung up on energy thing etc and said my saber was not a energy, plasma, laser etc. Well, it is made of energy, that is what is produced in gas flame. However it is not as powerful as the fictional lightsabers. Principally though it is very close.
So, it looks like a light saber, it has the same casing, and the beam is very similar to a light saber. So I call it a light saber, (though it is a scaled version), so I call it a light dagger. That is exactly what it is. And just as anyone can argue that a ightsaber is not made out of fire or a flame etc. I could say, yes it is, and the flame is so hot, the technology they had in Star Wars times was so advanced that the heat of the beam was up to thousands more degrees than mine, but was encased in some type of magnetic plasma field, that only allowed the field to open up when an object touched it, then the extreme heat vapourized it. If that was the case then , what I made is a very weak low energy form of a actual lightsaber, in theory.

I already said in my last post, they could have technology which allowed them to encase the heat in a plasma type field of some sort. You know that all your theorizing is just that, total guess work. So I could also guess at how it was made, an dI could say it was a extreem heat generated somehow, and then my lightdagger was exactly like it only on a weaker scale. When we talk fiction from movies we can make up anything.

As I already said, I am not showing a fake, It is real, it has a exact look of a lightsaber on the outside, and a beam that extends out of the base, the beam is very hot and burns instantly. So what are you talking about? I do believe I could have said it was a light dagger. But I patterned it on a small scale after a lightsaber. I hope to make a full scal e version. I also have a lightsaber that you show in your pic. Only I have an Anakin one.

Wrong again, sir. I am not trying to peddle it, I already said I wouldn't sell it for $1000 dollars. And I am in my 40's not a twelve year old kid. So who is the lyer here? Youa ccuse me falsely and should be banned for it. But I would never ban you.
Like I said, I can also make up some fiction as to how the Lightsabers in the film were made and i can say they are exactly as the one I made only much , much more powerful with a plasma field protecting the user and the field only breaks when touching another object.
So all arguments against me are proven false. I did make a real lightsaber, from my interpretation of the fiction lightsaber in the film.
I know that won't silence some but it is a start.

Edit: Oh, and the fact that you spend so much energy in attempt to create something as childish as a lightsaber tells much about you. Please, type more in here. For everything you type can and will be used to judge you.

Is it wrong now for a older person to like inventing things, and to like Star wars, I grew up on these films.
I did make a real lightsaber, in a scaled version. You know that you cannot prove me wrong. I admit that it is not as powerul as the fictional ones. But i could make up a theory as to how the movies ones worked and make it fit right in line with my gas laser. So you could say that it is an actual lightsaber. So when you or anyone else says its not a real one, prove it, show me a real one and then we can talk. Otherwise all your theories as to how the light flame in the move would be produced are just ramblings of those would would never invent anything or even try.
As far as me spending time doing inventions like this. i find it facinating to invent things. I have made other neat things also, but you are not going to see them.
As far as seeking atention, I do not, I merely came on here to show a neat thing I made in hopes to excite the imaginations of some here. I know how I would have felt when I was younger, if a person showed me such a device. I got this reply from someone recently. THis is what I was looking for and hoping to excit. well some people like sci fi and fantasy and new inventions. Some are so deadened by the reality they live in and the dry uninspired bordom of their own lives that they don't see possibilities in inventing and new things.
It is I Overlord again, I have just build my own lighter wich is superior to lightsaber lightsaber, it is now long enough to be called a lightsaber, although it is just fire, it looks like a blade, smells like a blade and even feels.. Ermm.. walks like a blade! Therefor it must be a real dagger!
