well some people like sci fi and fantasy and new inventions. Some are so deadened by the reality they live in and the dry uninspired bordom of their own lives that they don't see possibilities in inventing and new things.
Buddy, if you would just admit that you did not create or invent anything of any worth, we would lay off you.

The only thing of real value here is the mini-graflex on the end of the torch. Took some time to make that.

Or did you use your shrinko-ray to do that?

Wait till you see the full scale one

Anyway, wait till you see the full scale one, the flame is much much thicker and longer.

I wonder if there is really any one here that like Star wars here?

Is there any here who have lost their sense of wonder and possibilities.

Doesn't anyone think it is neat to have a lightsaber that looks just like a real one, even though it is not as large or as powerful. The visual effect is marvelous. I have shown it in operation to people, they often are amazed. When you see it actually working, it is different . Just imageing a full scale one with a flame length of about 2 to 3 feet. If i could make a arc welding torch it would even cut through metal.

It can look likea ligtsaber all you want but if doesn't perform the function that a lightsaber does, then it's either what you have, a blowtorch, or one of those extendable plastic ones. Get a life for Christ's sake.

You don't seem to understand, if someone was to make a arc welding torch built into a actual lightsaber, the flame would be incredibly hot and be able to burn through metal and burn instantly. that is about as cloce as any are going to get to a lightsaber. Unless they can make a laser in the handle and reflect the beam back and forth with a concave mirror assembly at the tip attached to a metal rod in the centre.

A Blow torch or arc welding torch is very similar to a lightsaber. Just not as powerful

And by the way it looks just like a lightsaber, that is the neat part.

Why not just create an extremely hot sword?

At least you would catch something with it, and not just wave it around like a retard.

Who f*cking cares if it looks like one? It's tiny for one, and the very knowledge that it's actually just a flame isn't helping it. And plasma cutters and blowtorches and arc welders, I've worked with before. None of THEIR handles melt. Why should yours? It's nothing special, get over yourself dude.

This is a crap name I registered with so I could get on this forum. I've read through this entire forum and have come to the conclusion that, Lightsaber, your efforts are admirable. Though you stretched the specifics of your lightsaber, lighttorch, dagger, whatever people want to call it, the finished product is a step towards what any true fan of Star Wars would ultimately desire; a real lightsaber. The fact remains that the lightsaber apparatus, whatever its design, should cut through obstacles or assailants, which your does, cauterize the interior of the cut objects, which yours also does, and be able to reflect oncoming attacks such as another blade or a blaster bolt (laser projectile), which is what yours lacks. Nonetheless, I do appreciate what you have done, and am upset that star wars fans should chastise you for a respectable achievement. Contact me if you'd like, I have a different proposal on how a "heat-based" lightsaber can be made since we don't have the technology of containing lasers down. Again, good work and good luck with whatever future projects you start.

Bobby, it's not a lightsaber. It's a blow-torch that lightsaber put a lightsaber hilt on the nozzle of. Sorry.

I agree with Bobby. We all know we're all being a pack of jerks to LIghtsaber, he hasnt come onto the forum to cause trouble, just show us his idea. And I'm sorry Lightsaber but unfortunatly its just far easier and a lot more fun to give you sh*t rather than kuedos.

Bad points -
1. It isnt soild
2. it is just a flame if not a controlled one

Good points -
1. if you could control the flame emission length ( and increase it) it would be good
2. it will truly be just a handle with an emmitting flame ( not the dufus polycarbonate tube)

Keep going on your R&D, in the meantime just put up with the following abuse -------->

And the following abuse is a direct result from the idiotic way of presenting the idea!

1 thread is good.
7 threads is bad.
7 threads and some random preaching in other threads is pure idiotism.

He keeps bothering us, yet he knows we don't admire his blowtorch.

So you say THERES noting like this? If so, why the hell did you only show it to Comic Convection and here? If you invented that, you could be named the first person to invent lighsaber all over the world. But it isn't. Therefore you are a fake.
