He said it wouldn't (and it didn't seriously hurt him), but it did put him down for a bit and leave burn marks all over his skin (see the next scan)

Looks more like those machines he fell into did most of the damage. Reactors or something?

True enough.

Plus, that weaker Superman was still able to lift up all of Metropolis.

Lift Metropolis? Was this from that Lori Lemaris Confidential story?

I would post a few scans, but my damn scanner is still acting up. A few things that stood out that may not have been posted were

1) Superman resisting the mind reading device and using it against his captor in the "Third Kryptonian" story.

2) Beating a Chtulhu-looking Arion that was supposed to be bigger, stronger, faster and overall tougher in the Superman Annual.

3) Using a quick super speed strike against Mantis in the latest Confidential story and then taking a couple of Omega Beams pretty well.

4) Using super speed to assist Batman company and then effectively handling one of the Four Horsemen, using super speed punches again, until he's cheap shotted from the back. He's also weakened from an earlier bite.

He used lava for that, right? He could have lifted it, too, but I'm always for creative uses of powers.

He used the lava as a base if I recall correctly. Metropolis was still lifted by him though.

IIRC, he mentions that the lava can lift the city but can't support it, which prompts him to use arctic breath to freeze it.

Does anyone know who did the artwork for this? I think they also did the second "Superman vs. Bizarro" fight too. I kind of like the artwork.

Superman fights the Four Horsemen (note how he uses his speed in combat, since many people claim he hardly ever does):

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...dvshorsemen.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...vshorsemen1.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...vshorsemen2.jpg

The battle with Arion. His whirlpool has the full weight of the Atlantic Ocean behind it, it smashes Arion's city, then he uses one defense spell given to him by the Phantom Stranger to resist one of Arion's attacks. He also shows how he is holding back against two mutated New Gods. When Arion transforms into a Cthulhu - like creature he claims he is faster and stronger than him, but Superman wins anyway (and steals his artifacts so quickly that Arion didn't even notice). Then he fixes the damage caused by the battle:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...manvsarion3.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...manvsarion4.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...antidalwave.jpg

Battles some parademons alongside Orion and Mr. Miracle. He uses an omnidirectional blast of HV that impresses Orion:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...parademons1.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...rectionalhv.jpg

He can see the Shadow Demons' atomic structure:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...mansenses13.jpg

His HV can disrupt the molecular structures of intangible beings:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...hadowdemons.jpg

More on the Mageddon feat:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...ddonwheels2.jpg

Shows Supergirl an image of Krypton from the past and they use their vision to see it up close even though it's 30 light - years away:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...mansenses14.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...mansenses15.jpg

Superman can see individual strands of DNA and see the edge of the universe:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...mansenses17.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...mansenses18.jpg

Both Wonder Woman and Batman claim Superman is the strongest person on earth:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...anstrongest.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...nstrongest1.jpg

Shows skill during battle:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...permanskill.jpg

For the people who claimed that Aizen could hypnotize him, here it explains how Max Lord took years to control him, and it was a very complicated procedure, beyond simple telepathy, that MM couldn't even reverse. Also it depended on psychological weaknesses that he doesn't have anymore:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...controlled1.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...controlled2.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...controlled3.jpg

Sterilizes a virus with his HV:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...rmanhvvirus.jpg

Tracks and intercepts a Flash, then races all around the world with him and Wonder Woman while searching (movement + reaction speed)

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...anreaction1.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...wflashspeed.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...flashspeed1.jpg

Fights some OMACs and intercepts a missile:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...manvsomacs2.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...manvsomacs3.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...manvsomacs4.jpg

Deals with situations all over the world:

Connor Kent claims that Superman can "split the earth in half with a sneeze". Pretty obviously hyperbole (only Silver Age Supes could do that) but still, you get the idea:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...ermansneeze.jpg

Connor and Clark fight the Eradicator:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...neradicator.jpg

Owns Mantis:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...manvsmantis.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...anvsmantis1.jpg

Resists Darkseid's Omega Beams. Darkseid did seem to be just toying with him though, and he was getting injured until the Infinity Man saved him, but the Infinity Man did comment on how Darkseid was threatening to "tear asunder the world", so it's a decent durability feat:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...nvsdarkseid.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...vsdarkseid1.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...vsdarkseid2.jpg

Superman plays Baseball:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...manbaseball.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...anbaseball1.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...anbaseball2.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...anbaseball3.jpg

Resists a mental attack by alien bugs. After they hit him with powerful weapons it starts to work:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...resistance4.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...resistance5.jpg

Uses speed in combat again:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...tswithspeed.jpg

Fights one of the Four Horsemen. Uses speedblitzing and the patented "re - entry piledriver":

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...nvshorseman.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...vshorseman1.jpg
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...vshorseman2.jpg

One of my all time favorite issues is when Big Blue takes on the "Elite", that "Authority" rip off and just works them. It's one of the greatest Superman wins in regards to feats/powers and to his legacy I've ever read!
