It does not disagree with me. I gave my reasons. You WERE erronously approaching the subject when you tried to explain MY reasoning for the scripture with a "not Mormon" interpretation of John 3:16.
You can't feign ignorance of my Mormonism when you stated that a scripture disagrees with me, but we both know you are only doing so so you can pretend to be right. You should have gone with your "piss and vinegar" attitude right after my comment and said something like, "Yeah, you Mormon's think you have the afterlife all figured out."
It's not my fault that you failed to realize the implications of my statement and started arguing a tangent. I've already stated that I was giving you too much credit and I should have been more forth right...but you're are soooo good at not missing points and I am, right?
This is moving a discussion from the wrong thread into here.
So, now the book was stolen instead of... written as fiction by Joseph who later changed his mind and decided to pass it off as real. So, which one is it? Did Joseph write the story as fiction and changed his mind at the last minute, or did he steal a fictional story.
OH, and this whole time I thought we figured out who the idiots were based on close mindedness and ignorance? Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Also, you posted in the wrong thread, again. In fact, I am moving this post to the Mormon thread.
If I ever said joey wrote it , which I doubt I did, I erred. It was a work of fiction written by someone else who was murdered. joey finished the nearly complete manuscript and passed it off as truth. There is a whole lot of places you can research truth if you wanted to but I guess that doesn't interest you. I will not guide you around by the hand so you can deny what you see. Closedmindedness is a booger , ain't it? As far as the wrong thread goes, you are here and responding so DUH. I will talk to you how and where I want to, understand me boy?
And I thought you said we wouldn't be seeing each other around.
Don't you understand this is just an internet forum? A place where people of varied opinions post their thoughts. Please tell me you respect others opinions even if you don't agree.
This belief is so old and long debunked. It was debunked before my great great grandfathers were born. You do know that you're parading false information around as truth that was long ago debunked, right?
You do know that that is a common fallacy committed by anti-Mormons, don't you?
It did, until I pretty much heard them all. Then, it gets simply boring reviewing the same things over and over again.
You do know that you can look up the factual rebuttals and apologetics concerning every last anti-Mormon idea you have, don't you? Obviously not because you would have done it already.
How silly of you. You can't say, basically, the same thing I did and try to pretend it's original.
Indeed. You should become educated.
Are you... *deleted because it was flaming*
Seriously, did you even notice that we are posting in a different thread now? I moved my response to you to this thread because the Mormon Cartoon thread was not an appropriate place to have this current discussion. This is NOT the wrong place.
No you won't.
I'm still correct. I haven't seen you ever, nor have I seen you around recently.
Indeed. Which is why I really haven't humored you yet.
Oh, so your JS comments on the BM were just your thoughts?
I certainly don't respect other's opinions when they are factually incorrect. Those are called false precepts, not opinions. And the great thing about being an individual is not having to respect anyone's opinion but your own.
And this animosity all started when I was talking to a certain poster that isn't around very much anymore. You do know that I'm married, right? You do know that I wasn't interested in her that way, right? You do know that you can stalk her all to yourself and wank to her photos all you want without me caring at all, right?

What you're not aware of is this fella has been following me around the forums, trolling. He is quite butthurt over my making him look like a fool when he got mouthy. He also got quite jealous when I had conversations with.
If you're interested in answers, you can find them on your own. Let us know what you find.
Boy is experienced at typing but that is about it. Read the thread and see where I look foolish. As far as jealousy goes, ask her. She might surprise you.
I don't think you understood me correctly. I am saying that YOU got jealous when I was joking around with screwtheroses. No, I did no want her "nutz" and her, mine. (However, she is a pretty lady. ) I have no idea about you two, if that's what you were referring to.
Screwtheroses and I talked about that in PMs. She told me that you and that other dude are protective of her because you all three came from outside of the boards and knew eachother previously.
If you two hooked up, that's great. Great job on being with a very nice and pretty lady.
Back on topic.
Joseph Smith didn't steal the book of mormon from someone he killed.
If he did, prove it.
Also, for your archaeological evidence, please see the massive effort known as FARMS.
Here we go again boy. See i knew it was unintentional and insincere. I understood you perfectly. I suggested you ask her if you think I was jealous or if I have reason to be. As for her being a pretty lady I'll trust you on that, you seem to know. As far as anything between me and her again you will have to ask her, and you might be surprised , that is if she says what I think she will.
Now back on topic, I have people close to me that wear scared underwear, I know polygamists, I know first hand of the rampant incest and sexual abuse in the cult. None of this is new. Every time two boys in ties on their bikes come by to try to save me I try to discuss it with them but for some reason they choose not to. I have read the book. It's supposed truths don't hold water. The challenge has been made. Get a copy of The Godmakers by Ed Decker and hold it to the burden of proof. As old as the book is you should be able to find a copy for less than ten bucks. I can only show you the door, you must walk through on your own.
Godmakers?! really? That was responded to an forgotten as far as mormon apologist go ages ago. I've read the book, seen the movie and it's basically lies and misdirections. There's a book called "Response to the Godmakers" that deals with it pretty good, I don't remember the author, but you should really try to get some attacks that are more recent instead of something that's already dead and buried.
As previously stated it is a starting point. One who only respects the mormon rebuttal will never put it to the test. I have touched the sacred underwear. I didn't feel it would protect me. Again I can show you the door..........................
ooh, you've touched it? really? I wear the things myself, I don't consider them armor, but they do serve as reminders of covenants made.
Do you make fun of Jewish phylacteries too? similar concept after all.
Believe it or not, I've already researched both sides, seen both doors... behind both doors actually. I agree you can't just respect one side, but it's hard to find respect for the other side when they are such notorious liars.
The jokes? O-of course? What could they be other than that?
Are you referring to the posts from last year, or the one made recently on this subject by me, a few posts up? (Or both.)
The optimal word she used was "protective."
So....wait..
You've never seen her before? WTF? I thought you three were good friends from another message board or some other internet social place...
I don't think I want to know. I really don't care either.
Godmakers has long since been destroyed. It should have no credibility in this day and age. People have gone down that book and torn it to shreds. There's other iterations of Godmaker stuff and those have been torn to shreds too. (Not literally.)
And the group of people you're talking about sure sound like Fundemental LDS to me. (They are not Mormons. They broke away from our church, long ago.) I hope you're aware that a Bishop (the equivalent of a catholic priest) is required to report child abuse or any illegal abuse of any kind. Also, in our church, if you try to get married to more than one person at a time, you're excommunicated if those attempts do not cease and the member/s repent for trying to do something like that.
It may shock you to know that I've studied anti-Mormon materials in great detail. I've probably seen more stuff like that than you'll see in your entire life (unless you devote a large time to it). I've already been down the "truth discovering" journey and I have come to the conclusion that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the most correct church on the face of the Earth, both scientifically and spiritually. Because my church experiences so much opposition and is constantly bombarded with the same regurgitated lies and half truths, that right there tells us that we are doing something right.
I am much more willing to hear anti-Mormon sentiments from a pure tried and true atheist than another Christian. Do you want to know why?
