so each 1000 posting ends on either pages that end in "00" or "50"

so the next 1000 posting will end on page 12950

because 12950 x 20 = 259,000

shouldnt it be the first post of each page cos the first post in the thread doesn't count on the counter does it?

no... it doesnt work that way... because every page has 20 posts to it

and what you are probably looking at is the "replies" ... replies and post count is different

the first posts in a thread does count... it just doesnt count on the "replies" section
