On April 28, 2007, it was announced that Hamasaki and her boyfriend of six years, Nagase Tomoya of TOKIO, are engaged. The wedding is to take place as early as October, however with their hectic schedules, it may not occur until December.

"Kingyo Hanabi" (Goldfish Fireworks) is Ai Otsuka's 5th single. It was released by avex trax on August 18, 2004. The DVD version was sold simultaneously. It became the theme song of the Japanese television program "Super TV". 50,000 limited edition copies were sold which included a picture book drawn by Ai.
"SMILY/Biidama" is the 8th single by Otsuka Ai, released on May 11, 2005. SMILY was being used on a CM for Lion's Ban Powder Spray. Biidama is being used for Shokubutsu Monogatari Herb Blend shampoo CM, also by Lion. Otsuka appears in both Lion's Ban Powder Spray and Lion's Shokubutsu Monogatari Herb Blend shampoo commercials.
"Neko ni Fuusen" is the 9th single by Otsuka Ai that was released on July 13, 2005. This is Ai's first single with her new shorter hairstyle. This single sold 111,324 units and reached #92 on the 2005 yearly charts.
Planetarium is Ai Otsuka's 10th Single released on September 21, 2005. The single had great success and became Ai's 2nd Number 1 Hit selling more than 315,669 copies which makes it her second best selling single to "Sakuranbo."
