I'm not a genius but at least I'm on my way to getting a half-decent job

Macca's is about the only major company out there that actually trains it's employees.

If you ever read the newspaper for jobs, you'd see that the employer wants you to have degrees in this and that, must have passed Year 12 or some shit, and they are looking for a school leaver? So a 16 year old has to have qualifications and a pass in Year 12 before they can be considered for a job in a supermarket?

I spent years looking for a job that required no training, but had no luck, because there are no employers out there willing to train people.

How can you have experience if you haven't had a job? You must have a job in order to get the training, and McDonalds did that for me.

it doesnt do anything

its hard to take advice or some statement written by a teenager seriously - when it comes to "first steps" and "professions"

You would have to have the brains to do the job you wish to have. I don't. I have learning difficulties, there are many jobs I could not do due to my hearing impairment, and McDonalds has helped me immensly. I don't mind, my long term goal is to be made Manager there, so then I can go from there into another Management job. smile

Selphie, you are right - I am doing what is best for me, and as long as I am enjoying my job, that is all that matters smile

Why don't you a degree?
Maybe stay in school?
They don't have to have that in a super market.

Easy for you to say, but you weren't beaten everyday at school.

I never should have passed Year 9, but my teachers passed me because they don't like to explain to kids like me how to do things.

I left in Year 10 because I couldn't learn - I shouldn't have been in that class, it was like I was in a different country, plus I was being slapped, kicked and punched by students all day long, and the teachers never did anything. In fact, that demanded I leave school. I had no choice.
