Depends on your tastes I guess but some of the stuff I've enjoyed thus far in the year: Sleater-Kinney's new album, they're a '90s band but their new album rules; Courtney Barnett's debut album, kinda slacker-rock stuff; and, er. I just checked and like that's it for this year so far, so much for my 'loads of cool stuff' thing although apparently A Place to Bury Strangers released a new album this year, I haven't heard it, but they're a good band.
However, 2014 was a pretty stellar year, there was a Ty Segall album, White Lung's Deep Fantasy, Warpaint's self-titled album, Swans released a two-hour album, Stephen Malkmus turned in another solid Jicks album, Shellac's Dude Incredible, Protomartyr, some new stuff from the Pixies (some of which is a bit shit), Parquet Courts' Sunbathing Animal, Meatbodies' debut, the weirdly named Perfect Pussy's debut, Mac DeMarco's Salad Days, two whole albums from Guided by Voices... it goes on. 2014 was rad! I just hope this year has an equal amount of good shit by the end of it
Green Day are far from one of the best bands of the past 25 years I'm not bashing them, I'm just bluntly stating that their music is pretty undistinguished. They weren't exactly innovators, and that worked for them, they made some fun, catchy songs and did a whole The Who thing with American Idiot and the one after that. They did alright. And they were pretty fun live, too. But at the end of the day, their music is a series of 4/4 power chords. So yeah, nothing new or particularly interesting. Just well-constructed pop music.
Like I say, Green Day are okay. I like a lot of their songs. They're alright. They're okay. They have some good songs. They have some good albums. They have some good songs. I kind of like them. They're alright. They're alright. They're okay. They have some okay songs that I like and are alright and are on alright albums that are good I like. I like a song. Green Day are okay and can literally play music using their hands and feet in Tre's case. They can make one chord follow another. Some of their song album's i like are okay and alright and song album and okay I like. I like one song or two songs maybe more they're okay they're alright they have an album or a song and a song and it's okay it's alright they played a live song album song tune guitar song alright okay bass drums alright song okay and live gig song album Dookie alright okay song song song album alsong albsong asong song son so s
Mötley Crüe are a fun band, they have some classics, I love Kickstart My Heart. But yeah, they don't deserve to be in the R&RHoF until Deep Purple get in there. I mean seriously – Deep Purple not in the Hall? The Hall can **** off.
