ill tell you now, yesterday, good day. i got into work and cause its friday and its pay day, we always go in the attic and i was first up there again, went on facebook, heroes and that, nice and quiet again too. jonny came up around 10ish and we were just talking about heroes and how hes 18 now and i dunno if hes lying or not, maybe not, but im like "did you have a good 18 birthday? what you do? stay home and play your xbox? nice life you got there". but he said that he got dragged to a sixth form party and got pissed. and then at break he said that because we got docked last week that he will go over to the annex instead of the attic and im like "what!?" i mean how can he do this? its like tradition, we always talk about heroes, go to Ferraris and got our break! but that was closed!? and sweetmans was closed and cant go to greggs because greggs is the enemy of both?! so its like our whole tradition is broken and we're in shock like. so gay, but we got our cheques early and somehow i had £35 no expression i should of had less than that, and then jonny started shouting about how i skipped a few days of work, i didnt spend one full day in work except monday i think. then after we cashed our cheques, i went to WHSmiths with jonny and we looked at a few of the mags and dvds, cds, and then i got my sister a rubix cube and we went home. and i was home at about 12 and so i had plenty of time and then ben called me around 1 and he said he had a free lesson thing and so i went around his with my guitar and we just talked about the gig tonight and he said he was nervous and that he was never nerous before gigs and he put on the new guitar string and had to keep tuning it because new strings go out of tune easily and you're supposed to put on new strings a few days before a gig and he said he was a bit worried about that and then i played on his fender musicmaster from like the 70s he got in a second hand shop in england and i practised some songs in my guitar grade book thing but the new strings on the guitar were like ****ed up near the bridge and it sounded tinny and ben had to go back to school so i was just hanging out in his house which was weird practising this song, then he came back and he seen how i was getting on and then 10 minutes later we got ready and went over to petes house with his gf who was coming over just as we were leaving. and pete let us in and then on the radiator were Offset t-shirts and they were personalised for the band and the girls. on pete it said "BASS IS BEST" and on johns gfs one it said "im sleeping with the lead singer" and johns said something like "am i in the band? im the lead signer you ****". then pete was looking around and he said he cant find the keys to his garage where stuff they need for the gig is, and he thinks he left it in school and then he goes into the church which is just outside his house, you have to go through the graveyard to get to his house and his dad has a meeting in there, and he must have interrupted them or something and he went back in his house and he said that he left them upstairs on his desk no expression. then we get in the garage and try out the effects pedal and theres something wrong with it and im always warning ben that if does anything wrong with the guitar that i will kill him and im like "theres nothing wrong with the guitar is there? ". luckily all it was was the compression button or something and it was turned down so that everything was muted. we had to be at the place at 5 and we spent 15 mins in the cold trying to work out what was wrong with the effects. and we arranged so that i was going in the car with john and bens gfs and that was just pretty funny cause ben was like aw i dont want anyone hitting on you at the gig and im like can i hit on her and hes like **** off but we end up with me and john and pete and his mum driving in one car, ben and the girls in the other car and we had petes bass lying across mine and petes laps in the back and then petes gf was going to be there at 7.30 which was when the gig was starting but bands are meant to be there at 5 and its like half hour or more drive to blaengarw and i said "iv been to blaengarw before, played football there a few years ago....but i cant remember much of it" and john said "ha, doesnt sound like it was a very good game then". and we finally get to the place, and its in the valleys and john is having a go at the people and stuff and how they're all weird. and john didnt think it was open at first but theres a band there already and they had built beds into the back of this van and it was actually open so we took some stuff in there and talk to the guy who i think was running it said yeah we're offset, waitingfor the rest of the band, and he said that when you have a full band that you can do the soundcheck. 10 minutes later, everyone else his here except steff (the drummer) and petes gf who wasnt coming till later, steff is here 5 mins after ben and the girls get here and the band get ready plug stuff in, check things work and all this takes 20 minutes and steff still doesnt have a snare! so he asked one of the bands (who i found out later were the headline band) but they didnt let him have their snare, and so he asked another band who came in later and they said he could (this band were like last minute cause another band pulled out and they knew the guy running it and so thats how they got in so late) use their snare. but then the skin on the bass drum broke! so it took another 15 mins to find one and me and the girls were just sitting there having food talking about the t shirts and that and ben and john would come over and ben was like "if i find out that theres been any business between you and my gf... " and im like "oh i wouldnt do that im a good guy eek!". then they finally get everything workign and start playing one of their songs to practise and just make sure everything works. it was really cool to watch cause the guy running it had some sort of control pad and could like make amps louder or put more gain on or something somehow. was well cool. it was really loud though. and after about an hour or maybe not an hour but it felt like that, the next band did their soundcheck and it was this scremo metal band. haha it was so bad though. it was this old fat guy and he was screaming and at first it was like woah mate calm down and i was just laughing cause i thought it was just funny seeing this fat guy screaming, cant hear a word hes saying. and then we're all just talking and the band are putting things in this backstage bit thing and im telling ben to make sure he looks after my guitar! and then the other bands are finally here and they're all like heavy metal/scremo bands. and this one band who actually won (it was a battle of the bands, but the band weren't really bothered about winning), this band were terrible, two singers, two guitarists and a drummer and bassist, but they really sucked so bad. and then steff went upstairs and then later people started coming in cause the gig was about to start and i saw some people i knew but i couldnt be bothered like and some of the girls, they were stunning but they were proper slutty scene girls and ben kept saying that i should go on the pull and say im in a band so that girls will kept off with me but i just went upstairs after and it was wicked cause it was only steff and two people there and there was seats and it was just good cause i wasnt in the ****ing ruckus of people coming in and being around people, cause people suck really. and steff is REALLY relaxed, hes awesome though but hes just too relaxed, when i was downstairs i could look up and see steffs shoes hanging over the like wall thing and i went up and he was just lying back with his foot over the edge, and then we were ujst chilling waiting for the music to start and then i looked down and it was packed, then the first band came on and petes gf came up after and we watched the first band upstairs and they were really bad but they were the most jump and insane which in these contests is the only thing that really matters erm. and the singers were like jumping around and jumping on the floor and jumping into the crowd and into the mosh pits and it was funny cause between of the songs the singer was about to scream something but he went "AAAA-woah woah woah what the **** are you doing? you are way too (something something)" i think he said toougly to do something i dunno laughing out loud. and this one guy kept doing backflips off the stage! insane! and they plaed about 5 songs and the next band to come one were the fat olf guy and his band but they didnt have a bassist and i thought they were kinda crap but better than the other band, still a generic emo band though. they weren't as crazy as the first band but the fat singer kept jumping in the mosh pits and he was saying how the girls were better than the boys in the mosh pitswhich was funny. and then on their last song they said for everyone to come up on the stage and it was mad cause there was a huge mosh pit on the stage and people were almost falling off the stage, people falling over, crazy. then offset came on! i was just hoping nothing happened to my guitar, and it was weird though cause the first two bands were metal/screamo and then offset came on and they play like experimental rock/funk and i dunno but im pretty sure i could hear someone shoutin "METAALLL"
One time at baseball camp the pitcher threw a pitch high and tight but I was able to get out of the way. I looked him dead in the eye and gave him that "**** you look" kinda come at me bro before it was said on the net. So the next pitch was ball 4 and I walked to first base. I was talking trash when I was at first base. Next batter stepped up and he hit him in the leg. Was almost a full on, if you know what I'm saying. But anyway, we all had pizza afterwords and everything worked itself out.
Not a whole lot, but when it first hit it was like a monsoon. Tons of wind and rain, but it petered out after 20 minutes to a light drizzle off and on. Lots of thunder though.
