The thing about Man Bites Dog is that it's infinitely quotable. You'll find yourself quoting one of it's lines like it's a Tarantino flick and then immediately feel shame for it.
I guess I could learn French, but that seems slight overkill considering all the people I'd quote the lines to would just stare at me like I was some kind of clever bloke who does them language things y'ear about these days. They'd completely miss the homicidal content of what I was saying.
Although maybe that's a pretty good reason to do it all the same.
4 times now. I gave her a bath after 3. I'm ready to rip my hair out.
She has tubes in her brain because of her Hydrocephalus. The purpose is to drain excess spinal fluid. They connects sacs in both hemispheres of her brain to a shunt behind her left ear, and then more tubing goes into her stomach to deposit the fluid so she can expel it when she goes to the bathroom.
This next bit is just a theory, but it happens like clockwork with weather. When we get a weather change (like today, it's been cloudy and just started raining) the pressure in the atmosphere rises. The fluid in her tubes can act like a barometer, where the excess fluid will drain a bit faster or suddenly slow down. The change makes her stomach upset and she ends up spewing. This is only one of her types of vomiting.
She also has Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. This is under control with medication so her actual Cyclic attacks are rare. However, once she starts any vomiting the Cyclic takes over and it's hard for her to stop. We pretty much have to let it run it's course.
We do our best to keep her clean and hydrated. Very little food during it because the mess that comes with. We have to lay her on her side so she can't choke on the vomit. Since her hip surgeries we can't lay her like we would want since it puts unwanted pressure on the hip joint and could cause them to slip out and then we would need to go back for revision surgeries...so we have to stay on top of it and check her every time we hear a cough that sounds juicy.
Then I have people wonder why I don't currently have a job...it's because she is our full time job.
hmmm, its no theory, i have the same for my scars because the fluid pressure build up when it is about to rain really hurts my knife scars under my arms and on my ribs
poor girl, i can understand that must be a stressing job for you
