Ush, the firing would be able to last only few seconds, or can we affect the shield by immediately damaging the generator?

You would hope so.
As it is, though, a few seconds later the shield comes back up, and the bombardment comes to a halt.

Do we have a report of how much we managed to affect the generator? At last it should be much easier now for Coll to finish it.

Lyle completely fails his speed roll (no surprise) and is caught by the raptors, who drag him away from the way in.
Adjusting Arvus' speed for the Stim use...
Arvus fires his heavy weapon, catching five raptors. he rolls a 10, enough to inflict thirty damage on all five. modified by their strength. he has time, due to the stims, for another blast; rolling a 20, this is a definite kill on all five.

And then there is short orbital bombardment planned in order to scatter enemy defences- I am not sure how long will it take, but i assume much less than hour. Than the actual assault, which was estimated to last for around 6 hours by Atar, but we must be prepared for difficulties.
How far are we from Emperor`s 5 days limit?
