Bats was pretty much saying the same &#$% during Loeb and Lee's run on the title when he thought Joker killed Tommy Elliot. Gordon stopped him in the end though. What's happening now -- w/ the rest of the team? That's all talk (with exception to Damian and J.Todd). They're not doing &#$% to the Joker! So they should all just sit back down and suck their thumbs.
They should just go ahead and have Bruce kill him at the end of this. Just get it over with. And deal with the story concequences after. I'd much rather see what happens with Bruce and the Batfamily after he kills the Joker. It would be a bold move, but Its the DCNU if there's any time for DC to try it out it would be now.
Pretty sure Babs is seriously contemplating doing the deed herself. I mean she did try to cripple him and would have done so had his goons not reminded her that her mum was still a hostage.
I don't think she has it in her. Sure, she's tempted, but I don't see her ever going through with something like that.
You know what would make for an interesting twist? If Bruce found out that a young Joker was somehow (indirectly) responsible for the murder of his parents. And if that didn't push him over the edge, nothing will.
That would actually be brilliant. Batman continues to brood, we get really interesting stories of Batman dealing with the fact that he broke his one rule, and Joker gets the ultimate sendoff in the fact that he finally won.
