In fact doesn't that already go against the continuity established that he can keep going for 5 days or whatever without.
Why are we talking about durability? If there was a piece of krytonite inside the reactor there would be room for discussion but all I see is a bloodied superman from a beating(by an already stronger opponent) being knocked out by a nuke.
It was a nice issue otherwise
No. Because when Superman held the Earth's weight, he had a solid charge before doing so. This time, he was battered and bruised, and his charge would have been much lower.

Erm....he can direct his sun beams? To shine preferentially on some more than others? Hell, we even see that happen in this very same issue!
What do YOU think Apollo was talking about, then, when he said:
".....I powered up the two new ones more quickly than they might otherwise have been...."
?
During what instance are you talking about? Are you talking about THIS comic or the previous one with them being amped?.

World Breaker Zod.
Zod can't even beat Wonder Woman. WBH would melt him and Indestructible Hulk would 2 panel him.

Anyways, this book is making Superman look incompetent as f*ck. Zod was recovering from a blast and was still beating the utter shit out of Clark.
Also, I think this should settle the debate on whether or not Diana is as strong as the Kryptonians. She was holding her own against Faora who wasn't weakened like Zod and didn't even use her weapons.
The intention seemed to be for them to get their asses beat and then use their suits redirect powers or whatever to take out Zod and Faora.
BTW, Wonder Woman also got demolished as well, although, like I said it seemed to be almost intentional.

I thought that was more of a last resort once they realized they were losing but I could be wrong.
Yea, Wonder Woman was losing but it looked like she put up more of a fight then Clark, Faora was not weakened like Zod, and she didn't use her weapons either.

Undeniable that he powered them up (not sure how one could misinterpret that part) but i think its equally obviuous that they werent amped beyond normal Kryptonian levels - Apollo was merely responsible for them not having Kryypto-noob powerlevels from a limited exposure to the sun.

While that may be how some writers see it that seems like a pretty contentious claim. You seem to be saying that every punch/injury "knocks some solar charge out" of him? Or was it established that Superman specifically charged up before heading down to the lab to bench things in Lobdell's run? I know he did in order to recover afterwards but i dont recall that.
