you sure? i messed up when i said "perpendicular to the beam", i meant the lenses should be turned parallel to to strengthen them.
you agreed with that mistake.

well, the lenses would be parallel to each other, but perpendicular to the actual line of the beam.
edit. perpendicular starting off. yeah, the more parallel they get, they stronger the beam.
he is able to make his beams wider, though, which hasn't been explained afaik...
