I know you have a hateboner for DC, but half the Justice League can, and have, had no problem killing their enemies when the time comes. Even Diana will kill them on occasion. My comment was more about how rabidly some writers seem to stick to the idea that she wants to execute every villain she fights, when she isn't typically like that.
And yes, I know Cap is a killer. I was just pointing out that using a vampire was a bad example.

As for vamps. Just because they are classified as "undead", it wasn't any easier for Steve (as shown on panel).
In fact, heroes like Cap - or your Cyke on his better days - always believe there is some good in all creatures... good that can be saved... yes, including vampires.
Are they wrong? Nope, as Marvel happens to be full of superhero/altruistic vampires, as ridiculous as that idea is.
I just meant that you can't kill something that's already dead, can you?
Still, Superman? He's not a good example, but even he will, and has, killed as a last resort.
Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hal Jordan, and Barry Allen have all killed when they felt like they were forced in to that kind of situation. And let's not forget that Hal's been an air force pilot for a while; you don't get to be that without a body count.
Heroes don't get a free pass like that. As long as the being is sentient, its life (or unlife) matters. They're not Sarafan Warrior-Priests. Wolverine even saved a robot once from house fire, lol.
I just don't like how you compared Diana to the Punisher --- her being willing to do what needs to be done and (very sporadically) killing her enemies doesn't make her Frank. It was f*cking Despero they had there, not Joe Chill.
Anyway, we've derailed this thread more than enough
Honestly, it depends. Byrne Superman killed sentient cyborgs all the time.
Could post an ownage pic to make it ON topic.. Superman vs robot western outlaws.
Or how his litmus test for smashing begins and ends with "Is it strictly alive?"

Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
It's a perfectly good example the term undead doesn't mean they're not alive. Under the scientfic defintion of life a vampire is still alive. It thinks, feels pain is self aware, has needs and desires and vampires are capable of empathy. Saying that an undead person isn't alive is one of those comic defintions which don't make any sense. Heroes would have a problem killing somebody like The Vision and The Vision isn't more alive than a vampire.
If you want a better example Captain America gunned down an Ultimatum terrorist as a last resort.
EDIT: Actually sentient is the best term to use not alive...
Which is the most sensible morality to have in comics but Batman's never killing rule is just insane. I think it's hard to justify after a while even in comics. Eventhough The Arkham City game isn't canon it's consistent with Batman's behaviour and his no killing rule is just taken to an absurd level
