The conformance to PG-13 is not a rule, but a guide, as stated in the rules:
quote:
We generally use the PG-13 rating as a guideline as to what is allowed. If you don't know whether your post falls under the rating, contact a moderator immediately.
What is ultimately allowed and not is up to the moderators to decide, as we also use common sense in our decisions.

Regarding the racism, no that is not allowed. But neither can we expect the moderators here to read the 10,000+ posts that are posted everyday. Its just not practical.

That is why we have the report system, whereby the members help us keep the forums clean. If you want to do you bit, hit the report button, and a mod will go straight to the post in question and take appropriate action.

You are COMPLETELY misunderstanding what I said.

I did NOT say ANYWHERE that the mods don't act on something unless it is reported.

What I am saying is that reporting things makes it much much easier to find problems. We do not know every single little thing that is posted. There are many problems that are taken care of without ever being reported - as Storm said. I personally get next to no reports from my section, because I can catch problems before someone reports them, for the most part. But in forums like the OTF or GDF, chances are things may go missed if they're not reported, because as I said, we're not psychic. We don't know and read EVERY single post. We have lives outside of this site, too. If you see something you have a problem with, hit the report button - that way we can know for sure that there's a problem somewhere that needs to be taken care of.

Corruption of the innocent?

READ Lana's post and be done with it. If you, or anyone else, has any problem with any of my posts or threads then report them. I have no issues with you doing that... obviously the HP thread that I created has been popular and hasn't offended anyone because it's still open. If it gets closed because you've highlighted its existence than so be it. Honestly, you seem to have the biggest problem out of anyone here. How did you manage to open a thread with good ideas and have it turn into a debate featuring 'Whirly vs. Everyone Else'?

Also, if you're confused by my comments please don't use me as a scapegoat. Try using your brain.

Another point, you would never have noticed that HP thread had I not bumped it onto the first page of that forum very recently. Evidence of how difficult the mod's jobs are, wouldn't you say?

So if I am understanding this properly Raz, and please correct me if I am misunderstanding what you are stating...... KMC is neither Proactive or Reactive, it is instead subjective. So what one mod feels is appropriate may not be considered appropriate by the others and this is why threads which are blatantly not PG13 are present and continuous throughout the forums.

I accept and understand this Raz, however you are an intelligent guy and you must agree that a thread with a title like "Babysitters Rape 12 - week old baby is likely to have some explicit content beyond PG13 and a thread entitled Are Blacks today taking advantage of the rights people sacrificed to get for them? is likely to have some racist content in my opinion.

This post is worrying as it may highlight a problem that some feel people are no longer believe that moderators respond to their post.

You told me to report it now I had highlighted it despite several mods posting around that time on my thread, I understand your perception of events, please credit mine, rather than telling me I misunderstood you post when I interpreted it within a context and framework which is and was quite credible.

I have no problem with the thread on a personal level, do I think it contravenes PG 13 guidelines? I am unsure if as many Drug references were in Trainspotting! However the forum it was in makes anyone reporting it very unlikely wink

I am not trolling anyone, please show me something that is personal in any of my posts in this thread or anything that is not a question for clarification or highlighting discrepancies in practice.

I didn't a number of people on here have posted points which are along similar lines to my own and some believe that it's not even worth reporting.

No, you did misunderstand me. I said that if you see a problem you need to report it so that the mods can catch it and take care of it, and that we're not psychic. You decided to take that to mean that I meant that we don't take care of problems until they're reported, which is blatantly NOT the truth.

You can't bullshit me with this. Everyone can go back and see what you posted and see that you deliberately misinterpreted what I said.

No I didn't. You are offering your opinion which is your right as my reasoning which is wrong. How can you say that with certaintiy in the sam post where you admit to not being Psychic.
