How in the heck can you take that quote of Obi-Wan's and somehow apply it to the American political process? Can anyone really be THAT obtuse? That's why this thread is all kinds of weird. Your supporting quote is nonsensical.
Obi-Wan is saying he is loyal to the concept of Democracy, and to the Republic that is in Star Wars.
This has absolutely no connection to any real life political party- 'Democrat' and 'Republican' are just names (and in fact both are interested in both the American Republic and the concept of Democracy).
So this entire thread is completely bust.

But in answer to the original topic (which makes no sense to me), the Jedi are politically neutral and are not involved in the politics of the Galactic Republic. They are guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy... they don't answer to any American political party... but to the will of the Force.
