Pac's greater than great. He's the standard; as are a few others. A couple others. And that's Biggie and Nas. Well, early Nas, at least.

Uh, she says some life is too hard
She says that she wanna come build and with the god
Promise me that she gonna play her part
Cuz what I spit gets straight to her heart
And she damn fine, feet hammertime
Damn if I mind
Long as the butt bubble in back of your waistline
I don't waste time, I gotta get-get on it
Just you and me, two glasses....
In the club scene where I met Miss Green Eyes
She walked by asking me "Are you Nas?"
"Why?"
"If you was I'd be totally T.W.I"
"What's that?"
"Totally With It. T.W.I"
"Ha, well here I am"
"Yep, I'm the man"
"Bartender, put a Cosmo in that girl hand"
So here we standin' before I begin
Homegirl made a knot out of the cherry stem
Tongue skills, yea I like that
Now we on the right track
Straight to my Phantom called 'Africa Black'
Ever since then, she been yappin' her track
Told her friends now they hollerin' behind her back
Sing

Nas > Tupac

in all aspects (except one, Pac showed more emotion on the mic)

To me Biggie, Pac, and Nas are all nasty. The 3 are equal in their own different way but they're the top illest MC's of all time, imo. The greatest of all time, in other words.

Maybe at 1 time one will shine more than the other 2 at other times and vise versa; taking turns, but all 3 are in first place to me.

i dunno, when people ask me who do i think are top 3?

these are the names that come to mind (not my top 3 but in general)

no order:

Kool G Rap
Pharoahe Monch
Nas
Gza

any of these 4 have proven in my opinion to be top 3 material.

big grin stick out tongue

For real though:

"Can you picture my prophecy?
Stress in the city, the cops is hot for me
The projects is full of bullets, the bodies is droppin
There ain't no stoppin me
Constantly movin while makin millions
Witnessin killings, leavin dead bodies in abandoned buildings
Carries to children cause they're illin
Addicted to killin and the appeal from the cap peelin
Without feelin, but will they last or be blasted?
Hard headed bastard
Maybe he'll listen in his casket -- the aftermath
More bodies being buried -- I'm losing my homies in a hurry
They're relocating to the cemetary
Got me worried, stressin, my vision's blurried
The question is will I live? No one in the world loves me
I'm headed for danger, don't trust strangers
Put one in the chamber whenever I'm feelin this anger
Don't wanna make excuses, cause this is how it is
What's the use, unless we're shootin no one notices the youth
It's just me against the world baby"

and

"With all this extra stressin
The question I wonder is after death, after my last breath
When will I finaly get to rest? Through this supression
they punish the people that's askin questions
And those that possess, steal from the ones without possesions
The message I stress: to make it stop study your lessons
Don't settle for less - even the genius asks-es questions
Be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change, keep your essence
The power is in the people and politics we address
Always do your best, don't let the pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin of riches, in a position of makin a difference
Politicians and hypocrites, they don't wanna listen
If I'm insane, it's the fame made a brother change
It wasn't nuttin like the game
It's just me against the world"

are some dope lyrics. cool

Or how bout:

"So many battlefield scars while driven in plush cars
This life as a rap star is nothin without heart
Was born rough and rugged, addressin the mad public
My attitude was, "F*ck it," cause motherf*ckers love it
To be a soldier, must maintain composure at ease
Though life is complicated, only what you make it to be
Uhh, and my ambitions as a ridah
to catch her while she hot, and horny, go up inside her
Then I spit some game in her ear, "Go to the tele ho"
Equipped with money and a Benz, cause b*tch I'm barely broke
I'm smokin bomb-ass weed feelin crucial
From player to player, the game's tight, the feeling's mutual
From hustlin and prayers, to breakin motherf*ckers to pay-up
I got no time for these b*tches, cause these hoes tried to play us
I'm on a meal-ticket mission, want a mil', so I'm wishin
Competition got me ripped, on that bullshit they stressin (boo-yaa!)
I'ma rhyme though, clown hoes like it's manditory
No guts no glory my nigga, b*tch got the game distorted
Now it's on and it's on because I said so
Can't trust a b*tch in the bidness so I got with Death Row
Now these money hungry b*tches gettin suspicious
Started plottin and plannin on schemes, to come and trick us
But Thug niggaz be on point and game tight (yeah)
Me, Syke and Bogart, wrap it up the same night
Got problems then handle it, motherf*ckers see me
These niggaz is jealous cause deep in they heart they wanna be me
Uhh, yeah, and now ya got me right beside ya
Hopin you listen I catch you payin attention
to my amibitions as a ridah"

I got you stuck off the realness, we be the infamous
you heard of us
official Queensbridge murderers
the Mobb comes equipped with warfare, beware
of my crime family who got nuff shots to share
for all of those who wanna profile and pose
rock you in your face, stab your brain wit' your nosebone
you all alone in these streets, cousin
every man for theirself in this land we be gunnin'
and keep them shook crews runnin'
like they supposed to
they come around but they never come close to
I can see it inside your face
you're in the wrong place
cowards like you just get they're whole body laced up
with bullet holes and such
speak the wrong words man and you will get touched
you can put your whole army against my team and
I guarantee you it'll be your very last time breathin'
your simple words just don't move me
you're minor, we're major
you all up in the game and don't deserve to be a player
don't make me have to call your name out
your crew is featherweight
my gunshots'll make you levitate
I'm only nineteen but my mind is old
and when the things get for real my warm heart turns cold
another nigga deceased, another story gets told
it ain't nothin' really
hey, yo dun spark the Phillie
so I can get my mind off these yellowbacked niggas
why they still alive I don't know, go figure
meanwhile back in Queens the realness is foundation
if I die I couldn't choose a better location
when the slugs penetrate you feel a burning sensation
getting closer to God in a tight situation
now, take these words home and think it through
or the next rhyme I write might be about you

Nas
Rappers I monkey flip em with the funky rhythm I be kickin
Musician, inflictin composition
of pain I'm like Scarface sniffin cocaine
Holdin a M-16, see with the pen I'm extreme, now
Bulletholes left in my peepholes
I'm suited up in street clothes
Hand me a nine and I'll defeat foes
Y'all know my steelo with or without the airplay
I keep some E&J, sittin bent up in the stairway
Or either on the corner bettin grands with the celo champs
Laughin at baseheads, tryin to sell some broken amps
G-Packs get off quick, forever niggaz talk shit
Remeniscing about the last time the Task Force flipped
Niggaz be runnin through the block shootin
Time to start the revolution, catch a body head for Houston
Once they caught us off guard, the Mac-10 was in the grass and
I ran like a cheetah with thoughts of an assassin
Picked the Mac up, told brothers, "Back up," the Mac spit
Lead was hittin niggaz one ran, I made him backflip
Heard a few chicks scream, my arm shook, couldn't look
Gave another squeeze heard it click yo, my shit is stuck
Tried to cock it, it wouldn't shoot now I'm in danger
Finally pulled it back and saw three bullets caught up in the chamber
So now I'm jetting to the building lobby
and it was full of children probably couldn't see as high as I be
(So whatchu sayin?) It's like the game ain't the same
Got youngin' niggaz pullin the triggers bringing fame to they name
and claim some corners, crews without guns are goners
In broad daylight, stickup kids, they run up on us
Fo'-fives and gauges, Macs in fact
Same niggaz'll catch a back to back, snatchin yo' cracks in black
Yo there's a snitch on the block gettin niggaz knocked
So hold your stash 'til the coke price drop
I know this crackhead, who said she gotta smoke nice rock
And if it's good she'll bring ya customers in measuring pots, but yo
You gotta slide on a vacation
Inside information keeps large niggaz erasin and they wives basin
It drops deep as it does in my breath
I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death
Beyond the walls of intelligence, life is defined
I think of crime when I'm in a New York state of mind

Rakim
Follow me into a solo
Get in the flow - and you can picture like a photo
Music mixed mellow maintains to make
Melodies for MC's motivates the breaks
I'm everlastin, I can go on for days and days
With rhyme displays that engrave deep as X-rays
I can take a phrase that's rarely heard, FLIP IT
Now it's a daily word
I can get iller than 'Nam, a killin bomb
But no alarm - Rakim will remain calm
Self-esteem make me super superb and supreme
But for a microphone still I fiend
This was a tape I wasn't supposed to break
I was supposed to wait, but let's motivate
I want to see who can keep followin and swallowin
Takin the making, bitin it and borrowin
Brothers tried and others died to get the formula
But I'ma let ya sweat - you still ain't warm
You a step away from frozen, stiff as if ya posin
Dig into my brain as the rhyme gets chosen
So follow me and were ya thinkin' you were first?
Let's travel at magnificent speeds around the Universe
What could ya say as the Earth gets further and further away
Planets are small as balls of clay
Astray into the Milky Way - world's outasight
Far as the eye can see - not even a satellite
Now stop and turn around and look
As ya stare in the darkness, ya knowledge is took!
So keep starin soon ya suddenly see a star
You better follow it cause it's the R
This is a lesson if ya guessin and if ya borrowin
Hurry hurry step right up and keep followin
The Leader

Well that's your opinion. Since Pac died a few years before '99, it took Nas till the nigga died. Anyways, like I said, both are equally ill to me along wit Biggie.

He does overdo the henessyee/enemiee thing but it's Pac. Man, Pac's nasty nuff said.

Oh and Happy Birthday to him today too.

Check it. I think this on this one he's talking about white people from way back, lol i think.

Until the end of time

"Everything they Owe"

Pac: "Imagine if you could go back, actually talk to the muthuf*ckus that put us here. And talk to the first muthuf*ckus that came in the slave ships"

We back for everything you owe no longer oppresed,
cause now we overthrow those that placed us in this rotten mess,
We must agree on strategy, and pick our enemies while ridin',
Who stands accused of the abused, my own kind, 'o why?
Pardon, not disregarding what you thinkin',
But you must abandon ship, cause once i rip your whole ship is sinking,
Supreme ideology you claim to hold,
Claiming that we all drug dealers with empty souls,
Then you expect me to roll and commit violence,
while in the midst of an act of war, witnesses are left silent,
Child, Black Talon style thoughts I throw,
It remains in your brain then of course it grows, maybe
even your babies can produce and rise,
picture a life where black babies can survive past 5,
but we must have hope, quoting the Reverend from the Pope,
and refuse to turn the other cheek, we must defeat the Evil Cobra.

This ain't 'bout talking 'bout problems but solutions
So where's the Restitution?
Stipulated thru The Constitution,
you violated, so im back to haunts you nights,
listen to the screams, of the lives you sacrificed,
and in case you don't know,
ghetto born black seeds still grow,
we comin' back, for everything you owe.

I think with this one he actually goes back in time, and talks to slave owners, rippin' on them. And see? That's what i mean. That's one of the reasons he one of the illest to me. He had a high creativity level that the game lacks now. Which is why I don't listen to any new sh*t anymore. Hip Hop is dead.
