Figures. There's no confirmation of Gwen Stacy. I doubt they're gonna bring her in, mostly because it makes about as much sense as Mac Gargan being Venom. Somebody told me that Gargan was a better Venom a couple days ago, and I kicked him in the nuts. Anyway, now that I've seen that it isn't confirmed by Sony, I doubt its happening. Venom in the movie at least would make a little sense, even though he's confirmed.
A while back I was hoping for Topher Grace to play a little wimpy Mac Gargan and then when he becomes Scorpion, he looks like Thomas Haden Church to be Scorpion.
Back when Sandman wasnt confirmed, i was just hoping for a more exciting villain. Scorpion can fit in, he doesnt need much development since Jonah's conflict with spiderman has been made since day ONE. that woulda been cooler than Sandman, and his family.
Don't get me wrong. I like the Scorpion. However, I hate Mac Gargan as Venom. I'm writing a fanfic where Brock was saved by an EMT team, and broke into Rykers during the incident that the New Avengers tried to avert in The Raft. I had Venom snap his neck.
Anyway, I think that Venom will happen, because he's one of the most developed Spidey characters there is. I'd even enjoy it if Venom came about first, and he and Spidey both took on Sandman.
geez I wish people would bother to read what the previous posts said before posting. If they did you all would know that its every bit as official that howard is playing gwen and that gwen is in the film as much as it is that mcguire is back as peter. AGAIN,its been all over every major newspaper and magazine in the country that howard is playing gwen and that its been confirmed.Its not like it was in the beginning when there were all these false rumors going around that James cameron who was originally suppose to direct the first spidey film with no official confirmation on it.THIS IS ALL OFFICIAL.accept it.

There's a bit more room for him to come in though. I mean, Venom is one of the top 3 Spidey villains, and the other two were already done. I doubt that they'll leave Eddie out of the series.
i think Venom is the least favourite of sam raimi. He thinks Venom is scary and evil. While the other two, Ock and Goblin are NOT evil, but affected by the super soldier gas and a.i. tentacles...thats why he had to change Doc in the movie
Both of them were evil. In the comics, neither can really be seen as good in any way, shape, or form. However, Venom has saved a lot of lives, and has been screwed over by Spidey more than once. Venom isn't a saint, but he's not a raving baby killer or obsessive psycho.
So the symbiote affecting Brocks sanity and behavior is not the case to Brock at all?
Raime could easily make a emotional side to Brocks story but personaly, i'm getting tired of buying a Ticket to these film where there is a strict rule that says
Peter is having huge troubles in the begining, shutting mary jane out, guy is all lovey dovey until terrible accident changes him into a villain, Spidey and villain fight, Villain puts civilians in harms way so he can escape while spidey has to save them, Villain kidnaps mary jane, spidey has to rescue a bunch of civialins and mary jane, spidey and villain fight, villain dies, spidey goes on about his destiney, kisses mary jane and swings of into the city.

Bryce Howard has been casted as Gwen Stacey, its very clear. Several web sites like imdb or others has posted this new, so, althought isnt official, its very clear that it will hapen.
And that prooves once again that Sam Raimi and sony are a bunch of idiots. Not only because Miss Howard is the opposite to the character, her character should be in the first movie, not now, it doesnt make sense. Too many characters in a movie to be some decent movie. And probably, she would be like mary jane because mary jane is like her. I repeat, Raimi, you are an idiot with not clue about spider man and his mithos.
