Red Wings might just set a record low this year....Datsyuk isn't signing with them and Zetterberg isn't looking to do it either...I think they might have irreversably fornicated themselves...then again Peter Bondra is still out there so they might get him...lets hope they're not completely retarded and Holland has atleast some sense left...

They're is no way they're the best and going to rule.
7-8 Playoff at best, and thats saying much.

Oh, cmmon, the Leafs always make the playoffs...and they might not do as well as they should but they have a solid team which hasn't gotten weaker in the past year, just better. I think the Eagle can carry them and if you say that he's too old then you obviously havn't seen veteran netminders like Hasek, Brodeur, and Roy prosper... Grant Fuhr was old like a mother and he still kicked ass ...cmmon man...don't underestimate Eddy! There is a lot of specualtion about the Leafs and thats alright because who knows how well they'll fare against good divison rivals such as Ottawa or Boston...you never know. The fact is that they could pull something unexpected and make a stake for a championship...just like no names such as Carolina, Anaheim, or Calgary did. I think we've covered the leafs too much...why not move to a more exotic team...like the Preds...someone should shoot out an opinion about an offhand team like that...

Yes, I agree Belfour is an excellent goalie.
But for the past two season, he has seriously been injured.
His back is screwed up, so I cant see him playing 80 games (including playoffs).

Hasek hasnt kicked ass since the first time he played for the Red Wings. He's in the same boat, and old goalie who can still win but is getting old. Remember what happened last time he can back?
Brodeur is not in his forties, so it doesnt matter.
and Roy played like shit at the end of his career.

Who cares about the Preds.

I daresay, I don't believe the Devils will be amounting to much this year...originally I had them as #2 seed in Atlantic division, but now I moved them down to #4. I figured with Stevens and Neidermeyer gone, New Jersey isn't really a defensive powerhouse as they used to be. They still have Brodeur, who remains the #1 goalie, but besides that, a decent roster. Worse is that Elias won' t be playing in the beginning of the season and no one knows when he'll be back. So besides defense, they've lost some scoring ability...and the Devils didn't exactly post huge Goals For numbers either.

Then you look at their competition...I think its unquestionable that Flyers are at the top of the division, but for the second seed I've placed the Islanders. They have a phenomenal team...although I'm not too sure about DiPietro...that guy fukin sucked last season. Neways...they've acquired some amazing players. They now have a strong Defense and a highly skilled offense. I daresay, if their netminder shines this season then they could take the cup. Plus, they got my boy Miro on the team.. and he's got magic hands.

Then I think number 3 will be Pittsburg...maybe...
I'm very skeptical about this team...cuz they have a horrendous defense. And they don't have a proven netminder, except maybe Thibault...but then again he was never that good. Right now, the Pens defense is as bad as Thibault's defense was on Chicago. When he played there, they allowed a lot of goals. Granted, that the Pens offense is a lot better then was that of Chicago but it still can't make up if you have 4-6 goals scored on you consistently.

Obviously Rangers are last cuz their team blows great nuts...they have NOONE...and Glen Sather might just be one of the greatest duchebags of all time...

Atlantic divison kicks a great deal of ass...kinda scary for the East...

Roy did not play like shit toward the end of his career. Roy is the best goalie to ever play hockey and he continued to prove that every year. His numbers were always elite. I dont know how you rank your goalies, but if you think he played like shit then theres no goalie that can reach your standards.

I care about the preds. They are an exciting team who have a chance to make a stand in the west. I care more about the preds then i do about the leafs, so can you finally move in and go onto a diff topic, or is that the only team you know about?

Now for Silvarus,
what was going through your mind when you put islanders second? If anything Pitt should be 2nd and drop NJ down to 3rd but the isalnders? cmon.... Miro is not as good as you think he is, same with satan. He is not a breakthrough player like a kovalchuk or forseberg. He will not make a huge impact. Your right about the goalie situation, so once again you contradict yourself b/c everytime the first point you bring up is that the teams goalie is weak. Not only is there goalie weak, they have no defense. Hamrlik, Aucoin are gone. There's no one back there that can hold them up. The islanders will not be able to compete in such a strong division as the Atlantic where as NJ can with Brodeur, Mogilny, Elias...etc They've proved that time and time again.

Everyone knows that the rangers blow. Thats old news.

Well i have to agree with Eddy not being fully fit for not too many games in 2003-2004, however he did do better then Curtis Joseph, I remember when he was sent down to the minor team, so say what you want about Eddy but the fact is he will come through under pressure....oh and I dont think Trevor Kidd was a good leaf signing they should have just gone with Telkvist but they seem to be holding him for until Belfour decides to retire so he can become their number 1 in goal

As for the Preds........ what the hell is Kariya thinking, preds have nothing going for them!!!

I think we're going to assume that the only team Nino has any knowledge about is the Leafs...because he obviously isn't making any logical arguments concerning the other 29 teams...

Here's a little information for you though: The Preds do have something going for them...its called a solid team. They have one of the most raved about defenses in the NHL because the only players that they've been drafting since the came into the NHL were high-prospect, young defensemen and with veterans such as Markov and Timmonen, I don't think it's too bad of a line-up. Furthermore, they have an amazing netminder in Vokoun. Their only significant deficiency is offensive talent. Kariya will help this team in that department and he will help the other up and coming forwards such as Legwand, Hartnell, and Sullivan. If you tie this into the fact that they are in a very weak division, then you get a contending team. The likes of Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, or St. Louis, are not a threat to a team which has a good roster balance. They are the only team out of the above mentioned who have the defensive zone locked down, while others such as Chicago and St. Louis have defensive deficiencies and Columbus and Detroit are pretty much playing without netminders.

So next time, before rifling off an idiotic statement, analyze the team...then make a comment. What team shall next be dissected... I vote for San Jose... but I'll let you guys start it off.

I almost forgot to lay waste to rocket's contradiction of my argument about the Islanders. I will have you know first of all...that you ****ed up... Miro and Satan are the same player. Secondly, it is not necessary to have a "break-through" player to have a successful team. I daresay, Anahiem didn't have a single one of those when they made the finals. Responding to your weak defense comment...WTF are you looking at!?
Lukowich, Sopel, Zhitnik, Niinimaa ...that is a better defensive line then the likes of Colorado or most other teams can field. Also, DiPietro is a question mark, not a hole in the net like Osgood or Denis. He has the potential to become an all-star netminder yet no one knows when that will be. He is the first ever netminder to be drafter 1st overall and that says something. If he has a good season...dosn't even have to be great...then the Islanders are making the playoffs for sure ~ biatch!

well the king's roster is possibly the best it's been since the Great one himself graced the team. with roenick, pallfy, demitra, robitalle, it's a good one. my guess is that it will get them into the playoffs, but not to the stanley cup. sorry, that's definantly goin to my flames!!

Flyers, 05'! ... represent...

Flames might be there too...but then again, might get steamrolled by Vancouver. Preseason surprise has MOST definitely been Buffalo and Carolina ... 2 shitty teams that I thought would be vying for last spot but seem to be high in standings.

Also, surprised that Phoenix is doing so poorly...I had no idea. They have such roster depth, and I honestly believed that Cujo was a better goalie then what he showed in the preseason...booooooo!

East Conf final - Philly vs. Ottawa
West Conf final - Vancouver vs. Nashville
