To mark this 50th Page, here are some of my favourite and greatest Batman Escalation Scenes.
Bruce Wayne greets Harvey Dent at the entrance to the opera.
Bruce Wayne: Hay Harvey, I have not seen you since the good old Princeton days.
Harvey Dent: Hay Bruce, I see life is good with you.
Bruce Wayne: Indeed it is
Harvey Dent: Just tell me one thing Bruce, why did you leave Princeton?
Bruce Wayne: I guess I had to clear my head.
Harvey Dent: The loss of a loved one is always a hard thing to bear. I expected you by now to have settled down, I mean you are 33 years old, rich and can just about have any woman you want.
Bruce Wayne: I guess I have not met the right woman yet, Harvey.
Harvey Dent: Well you have been in lot of relationships that have not worked, so I guess it might take you a lot longer.
Bruce Wayne: How is Gilda?
Harvey Dent: She is fine, tomorrow is our anniversary, and it’s been going strong for nearly two years. She is also three months pregnant.
Bruce Wayne Congratulations Harvey, do you if it is a boy or girl yet.
Harvey Dent: No I don’t yet; Gilda wants to find out just before she wants give birth.
Bruce Wayne: So I hear you have already put most of the Penguin’s men behind bars.
Harvey Dent: I may have most of the Penguin’s men behind bars but I fear Bruce that there are more of those slimy worms nesting near the hidden parts of Gotham, some times I feel like butchering all of them.
Bruce Wayne: How can you say a thing like that specially a man in your position who serves Justice.
Harvey Dent: Well Bruce as they say Justice is blind.
Bruce Wayne: It may be blind but you still have to enforce it.
Harvey Dent: Sorry Bruce I guess I just lost control for a moment, normally people don’t usually see my dark side.
Bruce Wayne: I have seen it plenty a time Harvey.
Suddenly Harvey Dent takes out a coin and starts playing with it.
Bruce Wayne: Why do you always play with that coin Harvey, even in Princeton when I ever I saw you, you were playing with that coin.
Harvey Dent: Lighten up Bruce, don’t you like a littlie game of chance. Shell we go in?
Meanwhile in another part of the city two friends are arguing over a moral descion
Holly: You can’t be serious Selina this is just wrong.
Selina Kyle: Come on Holly do you really want to remain a hooker all your life, stealing is better then that.
Holly: Well I prefer this to stealing
Selina Kyle: Oh I see you prefer being men’s fantasies. You know men are just useless. They can’t live without us.
Holly: What is wrong with you Selina?
Selina Kyle: Nothing, I guess I have been always so bitter. Maybe through my experiences I have seen the world for what it really is. I was left to fend for my self at the age of ten. My Mum killed her self, it still haunts me, and I was there when she used that huge knife. As for my father he was such an arse, he would always abuse my mother, no wonder she took her own life. My father died by the drink. From then on I was of to the junville hall, they were so abuse, I took my chances on the mean streets of Gotham. Then I learned to fight and with my trained reflexes I used to steal for a leaving. Holly you have been the closest thing to a friend and sister to me.
Holly: By the way how was the opera thingy?
Selina Kyle: It was fine, guess who I bumped into.
Holly: Who Selina?
Selina Kyle: Old rich bachelor himself Bruce Wayne.
Holly: How did you bump into him then?
Selina Kyle: I was getting mugged, he came and saved me.
Holly: Hay Selina instead robbing museums by night maybe you could just marry Bruce Wayne and then divorce him then you will get most of the money. You would be loaded for life if you do that.
Selina Kyle: I may be despite and poor Holly but I would not marry a guy for money. I would marry a guy if I truly loved him and willing to spend the rest of my life with him.
Holly: Oh look who has become choosy.
Selina Kyle: Well I have got to go there is a diamond museum nearby that I want to go robb.
Holly: I still think this is a bad idea and that costume looks dorky.
Selina Kyle: This costume fits like a glove and makes me feel sexy.
In a grand diamond museum not to far away Catwoman descents from high window, when she lands on the ground, ten armed police officers are in the room.
Catwoman: Ah I see you boys are looking for some action, well here goes.
Suddenly one of the police officers orders an open fire on Catwoman.
Police officer 1: Fire!!! Get that damm woman.
Police officer 2: She’s too fast sir.
Then Catwoman runs up the wall and gets her whip out, with her whip she grabs one of the men and scratches him with her claws, the police officer falls to the ground.
Meanwhile about ten minutes from the museum Lt James Gordon is rushing with a backup squad to avert the trouble.
Lt James Gordon: This is Gordon, what is your status team one?
Team one Leader: Sir we need back up, she has taken all our men out. She has disappeared, I am currently pursuing ahhhhhh. What are you?
Catwoman: I am Catwoman and I am the new ***** in town!!!!
Lt James Gordon: Step on it Clive.
Lt James Gordon’s Bodyguard: Yes sir.
Back in the museum Catwoman has tied up the leader of team one near a smashed window.
Suddenly the man wakes up.
Team One Leader: Oh God where am I?
Catwoman: I love heights don’t you officer?
Team One Leader: Let me go, I am an officer of law.
Catwoman: Oh I like a man with such power, now officer tell me what you know about Batman.
Team One Leader: I don’t know anything about him.
Catwoman: Then I am going to have to let you go.
Team One Leader: Noooooo
Suddenly Catwoman lets go of the officer from her whip and kicks him out of the high window, he falls then Catwoman jumps down to catch him, she brings him back up.
Catwoman: The next time you lie to me, you might actually have a little accident.
Then at that moment Batman bust through a door. Then Catwoman turns around.
Catwoman: Ah the Batman we meet at last.
Batman: Surrender yourself Catwoman you are surrounded.
Catwoman: What are you talking about bozo, it is just you and me alone in this room, and does that give you any ideas.
Batman: Look behind you.
Catwoman looks behind her and notices down below that there are two swat teams and a swarming firing squad. She jumps out of the window next to her.
Down on the ground below Lt James Gordon is watching.
Lt James Gordon: Can you see her Sgt John.
Sgt John: She has disappeared Sir.
Lt James Gordon: Call the boys back this pursuit is over.
Back ten stories up, Batman activates his Bat wings and glides out of the window. He lands on a street where Catwoman is waiting.
We come to a club where Rupert Thorn and his gang are causing trouble and plotting for inevitable gang warfare with their old time enemy the Copplepot family. The music playing in the background while we see shots of the club is “Welcome to the Jungle.” By Gun N Roses.
Rupert Thorn is sitting in a high seat; in his hand he is holding a Cubin cigar. Suddenly two men of his come in.
Man 1: Hi Boss, we have someone you may want to see.
Rupert Thorn: Really and who might this be then?
Man 2: He is one of the Copplepot men, last night he entertained one of our girls and ran of without paying her the money.
Rupert Thorn: Bring him in I will deal with him myself.
Man 1: Sure thing Boss.
Five minutes later the two men bring a ragged looking man before Rupert Thorn.
The two men let go of his hands and push him. He falls to the floor with the impact of the push.
Rupert Thorn: Get up you little worm, you’re in the mob business not the ****ing police force. So I hear you forgot to pay a certain woman last night.
Suddenly the man gets up from the floor and faces Rupert Thorn.
Little Billy: My name is little Billy and yes I did forget to pay a certain woman last night.
Rupert Thorn: You have got a lot of nerve touching one of my women and then not paying up.
Little Billy: Do you really think that I am afraid of you and your little threats.
Then suddenly he takes a revolver from his pocket and points it directly at Rupert Thorn.
Little Billy: This first shot is going right through your head, old man.
Rupert Thorn: So Oswald you now have your own men doing your own dirty work, in the old days it used to be you doing the killing yourself and your men backing you up.
Little Billy: You think that I work for that Oswald Copplepot.
Rupert Thorn: Then who do you work for?
Little Billy: I work for a new boss; he has risen through the ranks and soon will become strong enough to go to war with both you and the Copplepot family.
Rupert Thorn: Who is this person then?
Suddenly Little Billy points the revolver to his own head and smiles and says.
Little Billy: You will never find out!
Soon after he says those words he shoots himself in the head and falls to the ground.
Suddenly all of Rupert Thorn’s men come into the big room, in the club.
Man 1: Boss we just received the paper, here read it.
Rupert Thorn examines the front page which reads “Young DA Puts Copplepot men behind Bars.”
Rupert Thorn: Boys this is good news but at this point of time we must not let our guard down, there is another mob boss out there but we don’t know his identity yet. So I suggest now we stay low for a couple of months, our weapon imports from Russia are still coming in and our presence in Gotham has still not been found out. So no more raiding more clubs and getting into trouble, for now we will stay low and see where the future takes us.

Here are some more of my greatest and favourite scenes to mark this 50th Page.
Batman is in Arkham Asylum, he hears whispers of the Joker who is not to far from him.
Joker: Why does a man dress like a Bat I wonder?
Batman: Who’s there answer me!
Joker: One day is all it takes to drive a man insane.
Batman: Come out who ever you are.
Joker: I smell the fear in you.
Batman: What are you?
Joker An artist in what I do, like you I wear a mask. You could call me the Prince of Crime, the maker of tragedy but I would just prefer it if you called me The Joker.
Batman: Show yourself Joker.
Joker: As you command.
Out of the shadows comes a tall figure that has dark green hair, white skin, a fixed smile and a dark purple suit.
Batman: You’re the murderer, who has been leaving the victims with fixed smiles.
Joker: Took your time Batman, to figure it out.
Batman: How do you know my name?
Joker: You’re a wanted man, please you make me laugh.
Alfred notices Bruce Wayne doing press ups in his bedroom.
Alfred: Ah Master Wayne I notice you are up at this hour.
Bruce Wayne: Hay Alfred, press ups always help me think about issues.
Alfred: Ah I sense something is troubling you.
Suddenly Bruce gets up from doing his press ups and puts a shirt on.
Bruce Wayne: Yes Alfred there is something actually troubling me.
Alfred Why don’t you sit down and tell me about it.
Bruce Wayne: It is Selina; I just think I should come clean with her and tell her that I am Batman. But I don’t whether or not to even tell her. And also I am thinking of settling down with her, and giving up this Batman persona once and for all, I mean I am now the criminal most wanted courtesy of the Joker and I am ruining my Bruce Wayne reputation.
Alfred: Should I tell you a little tale to help you. Now your father as you know was from Princeton, but your mother was from a less privileged school and family.
Now one night while at a debating club of his he met your Mom. He was completely in love with her the moment he met her. Infact as soon as he came home he told me all about her. Now as the years went on they grew closer and closer, but when he talked about marriage with his parents they were completely against the idea. They did want him getting married to poor girl as well as that she was a Catholic. But you what your father did in this crisis.
Bruce Wayne: What did he do?
Alfred: He followed his heart, he did not care about the consequences infact when he stood up to his parents they let him marry her. Follow your heart Master Wayne, only then you will find the answer to your problem.
Joker walks out of a burned house, Catwoman jumps from a building and lands on a tree near him.
Joker: So my dear what do you think of my fireworks.
Catwoman: No offence, clowns are not really my type.
Joker: On the contrary my very attractive feline friend, I am not here to chat you up, no I have bigger things to think about.
Catwoman: Like what?
Joker: Oh I would like to see a certain someone turn batty.
Catwoman: Ah the Batman, I would also like to see him go mad.
Joker: Ah it seems we share the same little goal. Now how should we bring the Batman to his knees?
Catwoman: We have to find a weakness.
Joker: I have got it, tee hee, we will unmask him, but I will need your help for that.
Catwoman: What do I do then?
Joker: I need you to get close to him, and then when the time comes, we will stab him in the back. Then I will drive him to insanity ha ha ha ha ha.
Catwoman: Just out of interest why are you so bent on driving Batman to madness?
Joker: Well me and old Batty boy have had some long history, he has made me into what you see today, let’s just say I want to return the favour.
Catwoman: Right and what do I get out of this?
Joker: My dear with the Batman out of the way you are guaranteed riches beyond your wildest by yours truly.
Catwoman: How do I know you are not lying?
Joker: Come on don’t I look like a trusting person.
Catwoman: No you look like a mad man that can’t be trusted
Joker: Think about the diamonds my dear; think about it you will be loaded for life ha ha.
Catwoman: Okay we will work together to destroy Batman But if you dare to try and double cross me then you will enter a world beyond your nightmares.
Joker: Good to see that you are on board, now get to work.
Catwoman: How do I call you?
Joker: Watch out for my sign.
Catwoman: Your sign??????
Then she picks up a card of the floor nearby, she turns the card around and notices that there is a Joker on it.
Batman joins Catwoman on a tall building overlooking Wayne Manor.
Batman: Selina, I can’t let you do this.
Catwoman: Bruce he killed my best friend Holly, she was like a sister to me. Why should I not avenge her death at the hands of that mad clown, I can’t believe I trusted him.
Batman: I care for you Selina; I don’t want to lose you like I lost my parents. That mad man is unpredictable.
Catwoman: Listen Bruce I can take care of myself that mad man had what was coming to him.
Batman: I feel that you are going to do something that you are going to regret.
Catwoman: You want to see him behind bars don’t you?
Batman: No that clown has caused enough pain to this city already.
Catwoman: Bruce there is no point putting him bars, he will have a small prison sentence and will be aloud to roam the streets again to cause his madness. Do you really think that the justice system will really punish him, he deserves death and I am going to hand it to him?
Batman: Listen Selina, revenge is not always the solution.
Catwoman: To me it is. You can’t always be merciless as I have learned. Listen either you going to let me have my revenge or fight me.
Batman: I think I know what I have to do.
Batman is looking up the moon on a building near the Bat signal and Catwomen comes to greet him.
Catwomen: Long Night huh.
Batman: I have had loads of long nights recently.
Catwomen: So what’s next?
Batman: The future is uncertain Selina, crime never rests, the Joker may be in Arkham but Black Mask is still out there. Gang warfare just seems inevitable each passing day.
Catwomen: I meant about us, Bruce are you afraid to let me in?
Batman: It is not that Selina. I will always be Batman and committed to fight crime. And love will not get in the way.
Catwomen: This is not you Bruce.
Batman: Bruce Wayne died years ago; Batman is all I am now, Bruce Wayne is just a mask I am wearing.
Catwomen: Bruce think, we are who we are but that does not mean you have to shut yourself out.
Batman: Selina, I left my normal life years ago.
Catwoman: Dammit Bruce why do you do this, those people who you protect hate you; heck they even think that you are as dangerous as the Joker.
Batman: Because I swore on my Parents grave that I will rid this city of crime, it keeps my guilt weighed out.
Catwoman: These people don’t deserve a hero, we deserve each other. We should leave this place, go far far away, and ride of into the sunset together.
Batman: There are no sunsets for us to ride of together, there only long painful nights for us to endure.
Catwoman: What do you mean by that Bruce?
Batman: Don’t you see Selina, the first trigger has been fired, and I don’t when it will begin. But I know that Gotham will soon be ripped apart from Civil War.
Catwomen: Well Bruce I am leaving Gotham City, I don’t know when I will be back but I will be back. I have a personal issue to sort out. Well I guess this is goodbye.
It starts to rain, Batman and Catwomen both kiss each other for the final time and then Catwomen goes of into the night. Batman meanwhile activates Bat wings and glides of the building into the night. Roll Credits, Bat symbol with title Batman Escalation. Music playing while credits roll is "Trail Of Broken Hearts."
