I watched the Klitschko fight, it was pathetic to watch that little slow totally outclassed Samuel Peter continuously walk into punches, they might as well put a punch bag in the ring it would have been just as exciting.
How the hell did Peter become champion in the first place?
The worst thing was on my TV channel they were spinning Peterīs ability up to make the fight interesting, calling him the "next Tyson"
All the smart bets are on Pavlik this week. But Hopkins has never been put down. Ever. He's lost, but never pummeled. I think Kelly can punish him enough for a comfortable win, but it will undoubtedly be a UD. Even a persistently punishing boxer like Pavlik is only going to do so much to a guy who knows every trick in the book.
Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for a curbstomp. Kelly's my boy. But I respect Hopkins too much to see him falling to the mat enough to call it.
did you see the close up picture of klitchko punching the guy square in the face?...i tried to find it and post it the day after the fight cause it was hilarious...
couldn't quite believe it when i saw it...i also think it shows yet more still what a fighter Calzaghe is...i don't think he should have any fear in fighting Pavlik anymore (even though RJJ is going to be his last fight)
Pavlik got sh*t-stomped. Just goes to show how style makes a difference. Taylor beats Hopkins twice. Pavlik beats Taylor twice. Hopkins murders Pavlik.
I don't think it's a knock on Kelly so much (though it's a little one), but more a statement of B-Hop's brilliance. He fought an amazing bout. And Pavlik is still middleweight champ, and a legit one because he earned it over nearly every major contender in the weight class. But he's just not among the elite middleweight champs of years past, or among the elite in boxing. Solid but not great.
Having seen a ton of his matches, he also fights worse at higher weights. He was slower than normal. Not that it's an excuse, because it was a resounding loss, but when he said "that wasn't me out there tonight" he wasn't lying.
