Broner didn't seem like he brought his power to this weight division during his fight with Paulie and if he comes out of shape like that, he'll also be gassed out pretty early in the fight.
People were so focused on Canelo fighting Mayweather that they overlooked a much better opponent in Erislandy Lara. That's the guy they should have been looking out for. I wish Lara got to Trout first before Canelo. Maybe he would have gotten to Floyd next instead.
Of course, the whole "lack of PPV draw" would be the most obvious excuse since some people aren't fans of Cuban boxers (such as Rigondeaux, despite his great talent) but at this point, I think the fact that Mayweather would have a legitimate challenge would be enough to draw more attention to this fight. Rigondeaux and Lara both deserve more credit than they get.
So I really want to see Floyd Mayweather vs. Erislandy Lara because this is one fight that many fans WOULDN'T know who would win.
So Mayweather want fans to vote for Khan or Maidana as his next opponent. Seems like Khan is the lead, although some people said that it was rigged and Mayweather had already planned to fight him anyway.
I guess he really, truly, honestly wants to fulfill your wishes and take on the opponents you want to see him fight! Really! Just...don't mention Manny Pacquiao...or Erislandy Lara...or Keith Thurman.
Me? I'm not voting for either one. I prefer to see Mayweather in a real challenge.
So Mayweather picks Marcos Maidana as his next opponent.
Still not a fight I want to see.
I'm also disappointed that Shawn Porter is ducking Keith Thurman. So that's like the fourth boxer that's ducked him now (Maidana, Paulie, Guerrero, and now Porter)? It's a darn shame because he deserves a shot and more recognition. He's the real deal, unlike that clown Broner.
I probably would have checked it out if it happened but from the looks of it, it may be in jeopardy since it looks like Stevenson may pull out of it.
Canelo put on a great performance. He's definitely bounced back from the Mayweather fight.
Some people say Angulo just didn't seem like the same way he was when he fought Lara last year. Maybe he was shook?
Got no problems with the referee stopping the fight. Angulo still showed heart so nobody can question him on that but...his head was getting rocked in every round and after what just happened to Mago, I think it's time for everybody to know when to stop (yes, that includes you Virgil Hunter. Your fighter taking so many hits and getting rocked by an uppercut is not "coming strong").
