No headbutts, fish-hooking, biting, eye-gouging, knees to the head on the ground, point strikes with the elbow (bringing it down,) groin strikes, stomps, throat strikes... That's some of the no-go's. Can't think of any chokes that are illegal...
well Pride allows knees to the head when on the ground. ufc doesn't allow it. ufc allows elbows to the head when on the ground, pride doens't allow it.

Excellent video -hh-. I also give you extra props since I absolutely hate Arona. You know he tried to say he wasn't knocked out or something to that effect after that fight? God I hate Arona!
Make one with Shogun owning him too lol.
Jim Reaper and -hh- have covered most of fouls Alpha Centauri. I'll add that UFC doesn't allow any manner of piledriver, grabbing of the clavicle, or kicks to the kidney using the heel of the foot.
Of course, there is the typical stuff as well. No attacking the ref or attacking during breaks etc.
As for your actual question though, the only holds that are banned are small joint manipulations. You must always have at least 4 fingers in control before applying a submission I believe.
Pride FC has far less rules.

Well, UFC officially purchased PRIDE for $65 Million dollars. So, whatever dream matchups you've ever had in mind may come to fruition. (Fedor Emelianenko vs Andrei Arlovski.. )
..also some rule changes.
PRIDE never had weight classes for regular bouts, IIRC, which kind of set them apart, but it may be more fair when they have their UFC/PRIDE superbouts.

That fight wouldn't be entertaining at all. Fedor would trash Arlovski without any difficulty.
As for the purchase, Pride and UFC will still be treated as separate entities and Pride will be owned by a different company than Zuffa. However, their will be intercompany fights being that the Fertitta brothers still own anything related to UFC, Pride, etc at this point. The article I had is done, but I'll see if I can find another one.
Also, K-1 formed an "Anti- UFC/PRIDE alliance" with some organizations. As most of you know, Pride was K-1's biggest competitor overseas and now with the financially addition of the Fertitta brothers, Pride has even more ability to compete. K-1 is supposed to throw some huge event soon in USA. Here is the article. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm...79&zoneid=2
Also, the Nogueira brothers supposedly hate that Pride has been bought and have withdrew from any organization. Fedor only has one fight under Pride left and rumors are starting that he is leaving to Bodog because he hates UFC.
Also, hopefully UFC changes their ruleset OR has their intercompany fights in Japan. UFC's ruleset is far too limiting.
Something momentous is happening in MMA. I predict soon, MMA will have an event similar to the world cup in soccer.

Yeah. It completely made up for Arona vs Silva. Rua killing Arona was one of the happiest days of my life.
.....wait is that sad?
It's one thing to manipulate the ruleset, but Arona was just being a straight up little ***** in that fight. I hate him so much.
Also have you guys seen the currect line up for Pride 34? I have to say I am a little disappointed honestly. It won't be as good as 33.
Sokoudjou vs Arona (hopefully he gets owned)
Shinya Aoki vs Brian Lo-A-Njoe
Makoto Takimoto vs Zelg Galesic
Zuluzhino vs Butterbean
Gilbert Yvel vs Bazigit Atajev
Kazuyuki Fujita vs Jeff Monson

Meh. Everyone is allowed to screw up here and there. i.e. Crocop vs Roidleman 1. I don't think Lil' Nog will be hurt too much by that. Especially if they give a rematch.
Fujita will be fun, but I'm just not feeling the rest of the fights right now. It might turn out to be better when I see it, but I have a feeling I'll wish that my mind was wiped and I got to see Pride 33 all over again.
