^Thiago Silva is now facing Keith Jardine at UFC 102. Here's hoping that the Silva-Griffin fight is a war because Anderson/UFC needs it to be one so some fans will buy the next ppv that Anderson headlines.
Gender: Male Location: Ontario
but still reppin naija
Im in an argument with some guy who seriously thinks that Rich Franklin and Forrestt Griffin are elite strikers with comparable standup to Anderson Silva.

Silva has the edge in most aspects of this fight, but Griffin can edge out a Decision. No question about it. Griffin has the conditioning, heart, overall defense, and smart game plan to do so. His chin can be suspect, and Anderson packs power.
Anderson won't KO Griffin if he counter strikes as he did in his previous two fights. As I said, fighters are learning his style.

Forrest is gonna come after Silva like a guy who really wants to win(a guy that's not terrified like TL), giving Silva no choice but to finish him. This WILL be an exiting fight
I am definitely gonna be rooting for Forrest to win this fight hope it turns out to be a real war. I actually think he can will win this fight even though in my opinion Silva is the better fighter, I don't even know why I think he will win.

Forrest may not have the advantage in most categories, but a proper gameplan, and Couture on his side can be a huge advantage. Still going with Silva though.
As for other news, rumors have it that Franklin will actually be training at Silva's camp.

Yeah I heard that Anderson is gonna be helping Franklin prepare for his match against Wanderlei Silva who he seems to be in a "war of words" with right now.
Well, Rich actually is an elite striker. It's just that Anderson is pretty much the exact counter for Rich. I can't see anyone else dominating Rich so utterly in standup honestly. Anderson is just a really bad match up for the guy.
Fighters are learning his style, but they can't seem to actually find a way to beat it; they have only discovered how to survive it. I don't want to underrate Griffin, but I don't think his defense is good enough to avoid a KO from a serious Silva.
I do think Griffin will give him hell though.

It seems the only way to avoid getting finished by Silva is to "bit<h up" like TL did. That looked more like cowardice than defense. He fell whenever Silva THOUGHT about hitting him. Forrest is no bit<h. I see him bringing the fight to Silva and forcing Silva to get him out of there. I'm gonna be rooting by Silva because he's my favorite fighter, but if Forrest somehow does beat him I won't be mad. Forrest is a warrior.
I've seen clips of that Silva/Leitas fight, have to say Leites was pathetic. I understand he's a grappler, but he should have brought Silva to the floor himself; that's what grapplers do (eg Matt Hughes). Dropping on his back every time Silva stepped forward was weak.
Forrest it going to perform, I can't see pulling any of that shit, so it should be a great fight, barring any lucky KO's in the first few minutes.
The Silva-Silva rivalry seems to be growing bigger, Rich Franklin is now training with Anderson for his fight vs Wanderlei, I wouldn't mind seeing the two Silva's fight at 205.
Actually Leites has a pretty good striking background, he could have done more on the stand up, but again, Anderson's Boxing and Muay Thai is simply on another level.
And Forrest/Silva is going to be a great fight.

^I would like to throw Mask's name as a possibility but I think they are going with Liddell and Hughes too.
I wish BJ Penn would shut up about the GSP fight. Now he is saying he has "no interest in ever fighting in Vegas or Neveda again" I'm losing more respect for him as a person as he drags this thing out.
UFC 98 tomorrow. Looking for the Serra/Hughes fight the most. Serra has a very tough fight ahead of him. I want him to win but not sure he can pull it off.

Yes he does. I cant stand Hughes. Hes a great fighter but I cant stand him. I dont mind people talking trash (BJ Penn, Nick Diaz) but theres something about Hughes personality I cant stand.
